  1. So some designer thought it would be clever to make the FP loot tables class specific. I can solo Hammer Station over and over with my marauder and get the same LIGHT armor blue hands from the DN-314 Tunneler, when what I want for myself and my two medium-armor wearing companions is the orange-moddable medium armor Hammer Lookout Pants that drop from him. But, no, only agents get those. Patch 1.3. Open loot tables. Please. It's easy, just comment out that class-check routine. It's not clever, it's limiting. What good is it to limit access to loots? Is it somehow supposed to be more fun to try advertising for lowbie agents to run with you and then try to ninja their drops just to get the look we want?
  2. Now imagine Bioware/EA magically picks your two servers to merge together. Which to keep, which to let go...
  3. We should be able to right-click our portrait and have the option to change hair style. Girls change their hair style all the time IRL. Is there not a single girl on the entire dev team over there that hasn't championed this?
  4. Bioware/EA math: 8+8 = 8. Nice. Due to the way they decided to smash servers together, how are they NOT giving us 16 slots per server? I'm currently in the process of deciding which of my 14 level 27+ toons to axe because they somehow managed to designate my legacy level 21 Imp server as the ONLY destination for my legacy level 46 Rep server. I have to leave 2 full-rakata 50s and 3 43s behind because I don't want to delete all the toons I already had on the receiving server. Fortunately the Rep-side unlocks and legacy level transfer, so at least I don't lose ALL of that and I can keep playing my Imps, but I'd much rather not have to be making this choice. I so want to love this game, but geez the way it's being handled is just moronic.
  5. You sound like you're talking for the devs, and again, if this is in fact how they did things, it would be very very poor coding. Far as I remember from when I actually dabbled in 3D object rendering, and I may be outdated, but texture maps are greyscale images, usually low rez (256 colors most often) that simply shows the pattern. There may be one, two or more color maps, which are often just monocolor (black and white) maps of what regions of the texture map they affect. These are tiny generic files. When an item is rendered, each pixel is tested against the color map(s) for on/off value, given a saturation based on the texture map, and a color based on the hex code for the base color. If I understand what you're saying, you seem to think they have individual full-color (large file size) texture maps for each item and each color variation of that item in the game? If so, how are they accomplishing the match-to-chest currently? Have they pre-textured all possible color combos of all skirts, pants, gloves, wrists, belts (and presumably helmets eventually) for when we color match? Wouldn't make any sense. Far easier to be checking the chest for their color codes and passing those as parameters to the greyscale saturation maps for the other items. In which case, as I was suggesting, swapping the primary and secondary color codes, or allowing us to chose our own, would be very simple coding and not require the attention of graphic artists or new textures at all.
  6. Err... that would be a very very poor implementation of objects. I'm sure each object has color parameters sent to it when it's rendered. For example, the imp-side Elder Exemplar, Elder Battlemind and Elder Seeker uses the same model, colored red, white or blueish respectively. Allowing us to toggle color reversal or even choose our own would have zero impact on the model or its texture, just its parameters.
  7. So we can match items to chest. yay! And I mean that, it was overdue but at least it's in. Now let's see the system fully impletemented. #1: companion gear color matching! This is just a duh. #2: preview color matching. Why wasn't that thought of? #3: reverse primary and secondary colors on chest. Empire has sooo very few color choices. Can double options just by letting us swap the black and maroon robes to be maroon and black. #4: chest color editing. This might be harder, but I'm sure each piece has a primary and secondary color pattern. Let us edit those (maybe even with just a limited color palette consistent with Imp/Rep fashion trends--even just 16 colors would be huge,) then color match items to it. Don't need to add bunches of new models to the game, just yet, there's a plethora of items we could play with if you would just let us.
  8. I agree with much of what you say here. Having filled my account's limit of 8 slots on this server, I'm not likely to delete and re-roll just to do it all over with a different race. The BEST thing that they could have done IMO, being that ultra-high legacy levels are only achieved at this point by developing alts, is to have new character slot unlocks at say 35 and 50. I would roll a pureblood Sith Jedi Knight if I didn't have to kill off one of my existing characters to do so. Getting upgrades like a mailbox on the ships I like, but they should be free at the appropriate legacy level. Unlocking AND buying is just a credit sink, which points to poor economy planning. Level 40, 45, and 50 ought to be major achieves, with at minimum titles, unique orange-moddable legacy clothing, new hair/face/skin options (and the ability to "makeover" legacy toons with them) and things like that. Level 50 should have a sleek new starship and/or car to show off. So much that could have been done relatively simply. As you said, lots of legacy stuff this patch, somewhat underwhelming when examined
  9. If you have, or have heard of any players with freakishly high legacy levels, please post here. Would be interesting to see what the 1% is. Me: Shadow Hand server, Stormfire legacy name. Level 43.3 Level 50 Gunslinger in full Rakata Level 50 Sage in half Rakata/half Columni Level 50 Commando in full Columni Level 41 Vanguard Level 41 Sentinel Level 40 Shadow Level 40 Guardian Level 25 Juggernaught (just to shop on Imp side) I started on day 2 of server access, was one of the first several dozen to 50 on my server (Republic side) and have played a good 8-ish+ hours pretty much every day since. I figure there's goodballs out there even more insane than me.
  10. Wave 3 day 2 access, ordered 8/24 but didn't register it until 9/7.
