The servers list show nothing - only the new character i started as i couldnt do anything else. Am i doing it wrong??

Hi, After having not played this game for about 10 months i have returned to find all my characters are now gone. Have other people had this problem and what did they do to resolve it? Pretty disappointed after decideing to give this game another go and resubscribing. what are your thoughts
