  1. I can't believe something so serious would be overlooked.

The whole game is about story, and cutscenes are vital to the experience. Are you telling me they just forgot to change the cutscene dynamics?

Ive progressed further in the story now, after Coruscant, and my Jedi is still holding air against a Sith. This is insane.

Unfortunately this is exactly what seems to have happened.

If they are trying to reel in new players with this "expansion" then the story and cutscenes are their bread and butter. Having your character wave air in the face of the enemy is not particularly impressivel, but - like you said - comical (in a bad way) and feels like you are playing an alpha or beta build of a game.

And even if they put a generic lightsaber in your hand like they do with the holdout blaster for some tech classes, so you are at least not mimicking, it would still break immersion. I can live with my Marauder/Sentinel just using one lightsaber in the cutscenes (even if it's sad), but having an Assassin/Shadow suddenly use a one-handed saber just doesn't work.

Now I feel like rolling another Warrior Assassin to see if it's still the same problem there, too.

lets not forget that the space battle at the beginning of the expansion story blips to a weird background every time there's a cinematic "cut".

Yeah, what's up with that? It was really irritating, especially on Pub-side. Gave the cutscenes an unpolished feel.

  2. I made a thread about this in december as it was the same for a Warrior who took the Assassin combat style. There was no response to it back then and it seems this has made it to live now. I guess they gave us the possibility to have a dual saber build as JK or SW but did not adjust the cutscenes accordingly. I hope this will get fixed as it's really immersion breaking and a really big oversight.
  3. Conclusion: a bugged companion shows up as naked in decorations (and, for a few cases, in replays of very early KotFE chapters) because you're unexpectedly seeing the inaccessible old version whose gear you received way back when.

Yep, confirming this. I did the Oricon mission on one of my warriors when I was done with all story content and Quinn stood in his underwear on the bridge in the intro cutscene (same happened with Vette in a replay of Chapter 1: The Hunt). So, as you said, in cutscenes where the game uses the old version of the characters, the characters have lost their clothing rights.

I have been hoping that this would be fixed with 7.0 as it has been known for a long while, but to no avail. I would really like to finally be able to put Kira ad Scourge in my stronghold, but they suffer from the same bug.

  4. The companions' CC ability does not work. I've tested it with different characters, different companions and on mobs of different strength - the CC ability fires off, but has no effect. All enemies I tried it on had 100% health and were out of combat.
  5. Really? IMO they were pretty on par contentwise and I found imp side Manaan a bit more interesting than Rep side, mostly because of the plot twist and the

    Sith vs. regular imperials

angle. The only thing missing from Imp side was a short introduction as to why our characters specifically were there. Rep side got a way better intro there.

  6. Considering I have a plethora of alts I'm happy that there's a fitting romance for all of them. The ones I've enjoyed the most are Torian, Akaavi, Kira, Lana, Theron, Andronikus and Jorgan. As flirt options I liked Watcher 2 and Lord Cytharat - too bad they never returned.

But I have a pretty soft spot for the Scourge romance, because he's an interesting character - one of the few with extensive backstory - and I always found him a good fit for a DS JK (and Doc was a horrible choice for female JK tbh), but he was not available for obvious reasons. When I read that he had finally become a romance option with his return I was a bit afraid that it would feel very shoehorned in, but it made sense and worked well imo. Now, if he was just available for my SW, I'd be perfectly content.

  7. Now if BioWare were planning to re-release the physical CE edition with figure, books and the CE digital access vendor, I would agree that giving access to the CE vendor now would slightly devalue it. But we know that they aren’t planning to do that. So BioWare could very easily give access to the digital CE vendor and it would have zero impact. In fact, adding access would probably generate more value for the digital CE and drive more revenue for BioWare. Which is a win-win for players and BioWare alike.

Exactly. I think they are just shooting themselves in the foot by not including the CE vendor access in this deal. I, too, am one of those who would have bought it for that reason alone and it seems there are a lot of people who think similar.

I really do not understand the mindset of people who want digital scarcity in a game that has a limited life span.

  8. There really shouldn't be off weeks. With five events regularly recurring events, they should run one every week. Maybe come up with a sixth one while they're at it.

    I'd prefer that, too.

I think it was pretty obvious.

You know, there was a time when people understood obvious sarcasm without the tag...

That was before the time when it became more and more common to say stupid things unsarcastically. :D

  9. I will miss the toggle. As a roleplayer I actually preferred being able to dedicate my character to one side of the Force, instead of being forced to use dialogue choices for that. Especially since a lot of DS/LS choices do not make much sense. Killing rebellious slaves with poison quickly instead of slowly for example is not a Light Side choice imo, it's just a bit less dark. And taking someone in as prisoner to "question" them, meaning torture them, is not really that "light" either. This is especially a problem on the Empire side, who has a lot of "grey area" choices like this.

I will not miss the big DvL meter popping onto my screen though. And I agree that there should have been an option to opt out of the DvL system for those who wanted to see how their choices affect their character.

  10. Not a solution to your problem, but when I played that part on Imp-side about 2 weeks ago, the cutscene after defeating the Mysterious Assailant bugged out for me, too. It just stopped halfway through and I was forced to click on the Mysterious Assailant again, to get the other half of the cutscene. I reset the mission to see if it was just a hiccup, but it happened again. So something is certainly off with that part.
  11. Hey there

I guess I've been too harsh with Vette: shcking her, not removing the slave collar...

Now she does not want to talk to me anymore:

there's a blue quest/conversation icon above her, but I cant activate the dialogue.

It says that I've already done the thing and that I'll have to wait...

Do you know how long I have to wait?

Is it possible to shorten the waiting with gifts or something?

    Thanks for your help

The companion conversations are not bound to their approval rating anymore. They pop up automatically while you progress through the class story. With Vette it is also a matter of if you take the slave collar off or not (it does not matter how mean you have been to her otherwise or how many times you shocked her).

The conversation you describe is the last conversation you can have with her if you decide to keep the collar on. It will go into a loop as a daily conversation (it resets once per day, no way around that) and she will say the same thing ("I'm done talking to you...") until you take the collar off. Just ignore her until you are ready to take the collar off (or just leave her be if you want to keep the collar on).

  12. Agreed! The cinematics are the strength of the game, so it only makes sense to focus on textures that involve our character looks more so than planet textures. Armors is one they could do without any concerns about ruining established character look.

Totally agree, there are so many nice older armor sets that could really use a texture update. Plus: It gets harder and harder to mix and match newer armor sets with the older ones because of that.

I'm a bit on the fence about updating the looks of our character faces, mostly because I am so used to and don't want to change them but a slight resolution update would sure be nice, as long as it's not too much. But I'd rather they bomb us with more options - new scars, hair. eye and skin colors, facial tattoos and jewelry/piercings etc.

  13. One thing I wish they'd do is at least fix some of the more embarrassing existing story bugs. How long has Echoes of Oblivion been out now? Yet still, EVERY time I get to the medbay, there's two damn Satele clones lying on top of eachother in the cutscene.. And I get a big dramatic closeup on the back of the robes of one... Seriously BW? Didn't you have an extra like 6 months to even release this FP at the time because Covid had shut everything down and you delayed it? Pretty sure it was heavily delayed. And you STILL mess it up...

Funny enough this bug must have appeared with a later patch since I have a video of one of my characters who ran through Echoes the day it was released and there is just one Satele. I wonder how they manage to bork stuff like this up afterwards. Unfortunately there is quite a lot of immersion breaking stuff that appeared at a later date (like Koth's crew popping onto the gravestone too early or the trooper without head on Makeb) that I fear will never be fixed.

  14. I actually didn't mind Rivix defying us on the force choke, it was a surprise for me when I played my LS toons and realised he could actually do that haha. I assumed he'd follow your orders. I thought it was a nice character moment for him, and I didn't feel disrespected by it BECAUSE I had the chance to dress him down about it rather than just shrugging it off. There were some heated words, and I liked that.

I also liked the chance to get heated with him about not updating you enough, it's at least giving us the chance to be upset and scare him a little rather than no response to such disrespect you know? However, IF he defied you TWICE in the same character, the second time you SHOULD be able to give that windpipe a workout as a proper warning. Because otherwise you start to seem a bit impotent and powerless since he just keeps ignoring your threats.

To be honest, after all that has happened up until now, with all the betrayals we had to put up with, more dark side leaning characters should have the option for zero tolerance for any sign of insubordination and betrayal. No second chances. No waste on "heated words". And Rivix is not especially stealthy about it. For some of my characters he is just surviving because of plot armor. I don't even know what his role is for a loyalist? Why should we need a go-between to the Emperor/Empress? Especially one that seems so clumsy and untrustworthy.

  15. As a writer, I see that moment as character development for Arn, painting him flighty and nervous for not being a seasoned Jedi, than I do as any great reflection meant to belittle the protagonist (the player).

It's not Arn who freaks out, but Aryn Leneer, like she suddenly forgot what she herself said about the player character 2 minutes ago: "How many times have you walked away from Malgus?". She knows who we are and still she thinks we couldn't take him. Why?

The problem with Malgus as this big bad our characters are supposed to be afraid of is that it's not earned. We defeated him already (as Republic twice now). He hasn't done anything noteworthy since his failed usurpation attempt, he took a long nap after we beat him while we were out there, saving the Galaxy several times over. So everybody OOOhing and AAAhing about Malgus, while at the same time ignoring our characters' accomplishments does not make sense. I don't need people to kiss the ground my characters walk on, but at least acknowledge what they've done and show some respect? Our characters are not nobodies anymore.

There are plenty of times when characters make snarky remarks about our characters, but I see your perceived lack of respect directed toward your player character as probably more of an issue of how you've interpreted the story more than there being any stalwart effort on the story-tellers part to slight your character.

If anything, I see the opposite—we were built up in KOTFE/KOTET to be the hero-god that would save the galaxy from the monstrously powerful emperor that everything afterward may feel like a steep drop from that.

Like being told after having saved the galaxy that your next task is to guard a droid from oncoming attackers on Ossus.

I guess everybody understands that we can't be the head honchos of the galaxy, otherwise there'd be not much gameplay left. But you can still write this without the player character feeling like a grunt. Ask them nicely, show respect. Instead in the enclave, I have Krovos harping on about how great Malgus is, sneering at my Sith and commandeering them around ("you take out the memory core out of the droid while we go ahead"). Last time I checked, we were not her underling?

How about we could have Anri actually acknowledge that she's talking to a person who could crush her head with a thought and back off a bit when she realises, we're not amused about her antics? For me it's more a problem of player agency and characterization continuity, than back to doing grunt work.

Our characters constantly being kept out of the loop of information is not helping either tbh.

  16. I gotta say, I felt this the most on my Sith, and especially on my Warrior. I really did not like Major Anri's attitude and lack of respect towards Sith without being able to react properly. You can tell her off, but she just gives you lip for it and continues then to act as if you are her buddy grunt, sending you bff mails. I liked her well enough on my tech classes, but she felt really off, when playing my Sith.

I'm also not a fan of Rivix openly defying us and lying to us without us being able to hug his windpipe a little. And Krovos fangirling over Malgus was really grating.

  17. Ideally, give us 5 crew companion slots at the top of the list. let us select our favorites, or pick them by last summoned, just like character selection or stronghold list works. In a perfect world, those 5 companions would then take up the 5 crew spots on our class ships once we get it back in KOTFE.

Oooh, I'd really love that! There's quite a few vanilla companions I would like to replace with others on my ship. It's just cosmetic, but would be great for the rpg-feeling.

And yes, a companion sorting option is sorely needed. Would not mind if they were at least sorted after influence level, so the highest are at the top.
