  1. I switch between heals and dps often, and honestly grinding BM as a healer is far more of an effort than a tank or dps has to put in. As a dps even in my losing games I get as much if not more valor than I do in my winning healing games.

Edit: Its is also worth noting that the new objective medals will widen this gap since any smart healer will support the team while they complete objectives and will rarely directly complete any themselves.

  2. so the reason group combat is bad is because players play poorly?

Players who are annoyed tend to play poorly.

A game that has annoying mechanics tends to agitate the players.

When agitated most people don't enjoy their experience and just find it an annoyance.

    Its a nice circle.

There is no excuse for poorly designed mechanics, a game's difficulty should be in its creativity not in lack of user friendly design and bugs.

  3. Shocking that what someone says gets turned in something they didn't cause of peoples lack of reading comprehension lol.

Read what I said again, slower, let it sink in. See where I say, "1v1 i've never been bursted down"? The first sentence from what you quoted. Think about what that means. Kthx.

Actually I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you had a logical argument.

The argument that "anything that can't be bursted down in 1v1 is overpowered" isn't logical in a game where every class can avoid getting bursted in 1v1.

  4. 1v1 i've never been bursted down. Maybe against fresh 50's in PvE gear you can do 18k dmg in 4 seconds, not happening against one t1 PvP gear who's not a complete moron though.

I'm a healer, we're OP, we need to be nerfed. Honesty on the forums here people, I know it's shocking lol :)

I haven't had any problems winning against healers in 1v1 duels, so you're either exaggerating or don't actually play a healer.

In warzones its a different story, because it is a team game and there is the option of running so it really is never a 1v1. However I don't think they're any harder than tanks to kill, and they certainly don't do more damage. In my opinion as someone who has played both a healer and dps , against an organized groups healers are underpowered however against an unorganized group healers are overpowered and can easily turn the tide.

Ranked warzones will definitely bring out the utility of healers and tanks, however dps have all the tools to compete and do their jobs.

  5. So here is what proberly happened.

You capture the point and all the dps ran of and he stood behind defending it... so while you are out gathering medals he is doing the following...

    Heal 2.5k medal

    Heal 75k medal

    defence medal 1

    defence medal 2

he did his job you didnt... you left a healer to defend a node while the ****** dps ran of to collect medals.

    Pretty much this

Though I guess if a team is dumb enough to leave a healer on defense then they'd be dumb enough to complain about this sort of thing as well.

  6. Reminds me of most MMO's where I played a support/healer role.

    DPS: HEAL ME!!!

Me: I can't right now, this rogue type is trying to take me down, could use a hand.

*dps keeps running forward and leaps into 3 enemy players*

    DPS: HEAL ME!!!

Me: Stunlocked, shut down, going down.

    DPS: FFS HEAL ME!!!

Me: Dead, you didn't even try and save me.

DPS: STUPID NOOB HEALER, LEAVE IF YOU CAN'T PLAY YOUR CLASS!!!

    xD

Forgot the part where the dps runs around the pillar LoSing you while you're trying to maintain max distance then wonders why they die

  7. yeah i understand you man, but then again all you got "extra" was'nt useless, you could gear up companions + +. Anyways it was easyer for you before to get gear, then it is now! as all champ gear cost alot of marks... Specialy when i use 2 guns thoo...

So you think a system where you know 100% you'll be fully geared in less than 100 bags is worse than a system where you could open 500 and still not have all the champion pieces?

If there is something you should cry about its probably that Ilum was much easier prepatch making it really easy for people to get an extra 10 bags a week. Current system gears you up much quicker than the old one anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or got extremely lucky.

  8. Many trolls here, but i knew that would happen. But understand just since you got FREE gear, i'm allowed to get angry since i cannot get the same..

I just think it's sad when they do stuff like this, but i can live with it, its just annoying, and unfair to us who got level right before the patch..

And you have to understand that in some people's eyes you're the one getting free gear here.

The old system was too random, I personally got 4 champ weapons which is pretty useless, and countless offhands while never getting certain pieces.

What you want is the best of both worlds, sorry thats not the way things work or should work. You want gear to just get handed to you because you logged in, atleast the way it is now you can predict your gear advancement and you wont get stuck on not having one or two pieces of gear that you're constantly pvping to get but keep on getting the same old tokens.

  9. Hakd happen to roll on the Tempest server in SWG?

I usually give it to to healing(provided its high enough to not just be your personal heals), I've never see anyone exploiting it, and frankly healers win WZs when they actually support and get shafted with crap healing medals

The thing is if someone wants medals exploiting healing ones is the worst way of getting them.

They might as well spec dps and double their medal count. While the healing statistic is open to inflation by healing non-player caused damage, keep in mind that over healing doesn't count so any healing numbers up are there cause someone was hurt and got healed.

  10. 30% is obviously not enough when healers can still heal tank (looking at you commandoes and mercs)

healing debuffs arent permenant. they would have to be used appropriately

The reason they're heal tanking is because they're in heavy armor. If it was healing alone then ops/smugglers and sorc/sages would be just fine as well. quite frankly a fully debuffed person will die no matter how much heals you're pumping into them, only thing that might save them is a guard since the healer can still heal the tank thats guarding at maximum efficiency.

  11. there are four attack types

    melee attack

    range attack

    force attack

    tech attack

    there are four damage types

    energy damage

    kinetic damage

    elemental damage

    internal damage

melee attack and range attack deal the same damage type as the weapon you are using for your attack. this is often energy damage.

force attacks and tech attacks have their listed damage types in the tooltip of the ability. often energy or kinetic damage, but some do elemental damage or internal damage. some deal a combination of energy or kinetic damage followed up by a dot that is internal or elemental damage.

armor reduce energy damage and kinetic damage.

armor does not reduce elemental damage and internal damage.

defense is used to avoid being hit.

shields are used to block an attack and reduce damage taken by your absorb rating.

melee attacks and ranged attacks can be dodged and blocked.

tech attacks and force attacks cannot be dodged or blocked.

some abilities that you might think is a melee or ranged attack might be a tech or force attack. Operative backstab, for example, is not a melee attack. this is a tech attack. but assassin backstab (maul) IS a melee attack...

weapon damage is not a damage type. An ability that state that it does "weapon damage" is actually a melee attack or a ranged attack that does the same damage type as the weapon (energy damage).

QFT, it was said on second page how did the discussion not end there is beyond me.

  12. I get thrown around by Sorc all the time without seeing their character make any type of movement at all.

In 1,000+ WZ's on several characters (and on diff servers) I have never seen a Sorc jump up into the air.

I also don't recall ever seeing my Sorc jump into the air either but he is only level 12.

When I play my Sorc and trigger the AoE he stands perfectly still and a charged burst of lightning blasts out of him... The blast throws enemies away...

Well you're wrong. My guess you don't even play a sorc or you would have noticed the jump animation by now.

Just because you keep on telling yourself you're right doesn't mean its actually true, sorc have to jump in the air before their knockback triggers causing the animation delay. There is no lightning involved at all, another proof that you don't even play a sorc. If you spec into it after your knock back your opponents will be rooted and see lightning at their feet but again that has nothing to do with the knockback.

  13. OP has a point though.

If you got 3 sages/sorcs and set them up in appropriate positions, you can run in, grab ball, and in less than 6 seconds be across the goal line.

It's not rocket science, but it is retarded.

You dont need sages to do this, you can just pass the ball to anyone set up at those positions.

  14. With great budget comes great expectations....

    SWTOR fails in that department.

    This really sums it up.

A lot of these bugs have been around since beta testing, how is this acceptable? I understand having limited resources for development however no matter how great of a game you make if it is riddled with bugs it will become an annoying experience for the players. No one will remember how great the game was because their experience was ruined with lack of user friend interface, and bugs they'd encounter in every aspect of the game.

If beta testing was any indication, this game was not ready for release. They had a good long list of game breaking bugs to work on. They had plenty of good suggestions to improve gaming experience to work on. These are not the sort of things you work on after release, after release you work on increasing content, and improving balance with minimal bug fixes. Right now it seems like there are so many bugs in the game that the developers should be spending the majority of their time trying to fix the game instead of trying to expand/fine tune it.

  15. You would have a point if that were in any way an exaggeration...

Because 500k damage isn't something you see every match, only time when this happens is when there is a deadlock in voidstar which in itself isn't that common.

As a dps sorc you'd be lucky if your shields get you 30~50k healing, but it certainly wouldn't mean you'll do well on damage because the way shields work is you only get awarded healing if they take damage which means you are getting beat on. Now try putting the two together.

As a healing sorc you'll never do 500k damage, so don't think thats even a concern.

Once again exaggerations just make you look ignorant.
