  1. pillars at his throne... los his single target casts, switch pillar if he casts aoe... only dmg him if your kick is not on cd and hide again as soon as u rupted him.

What he said. Used to pillars to los his adds and casts. Adds came around the pillaer one at a time so I could one shot them as they did so. After they died, ran out, dotted him up, los his casts, rinse repeat.

    Pillars are the key.

  2. Fully geared at the same. RNG is RNG. Welcome to the pain raiders go through.

Don't worry though: the gear grind will be over quickly relatively speaking and then you can post about how you're cancelling because there's no reason to PvP any more.

Unlike the softcore pvp type that you are, I pvp to kill people, I don't need a reason. Troll elsewhere please or go back to WoW.

  3. I JUST got my main hand today. I was estatic. But before that I took it apon myself to mod out my weapon to be the best thing it could be outside of that PVP weapon.

Why not do the same, not like there is much else to spend credits on. And PVP pays well enough.

I detest luck based systems becuase I'm plauged by bad luck. Hang in there kitty, next batch of weeklys will be your week!!!

I did, saber is fully modded with a might hilt 23, you get from the dailies in Ilum. But since my class is about is damage, and having the one thing that directly affects not drop after so many attempts is frustrating, after I put the time in for it.

  4. Would also like to add I may have gotten to valor level 6 or 7 before i stopped pvping while leveling up. So its 33 valor levels, at level 50 and getting champ bags, that I havnet gotten a main hand yet.
  5. No Champion Helm, Chest, Belt, Or Mainhand.

    2 Gloves, 2 Boots, 3 relics, 2 implants, 3 offhands, 1 Ear, 1 legs.

Fox this broken *** system already.

And no, changing the battle master bags to only dropping 2 comms from giving out piece tokens is not a fix since all the nerds with no life already have battlemaster set, and now they will be untouchable for at least the next 2 months while everyone else farms the comms.

Good job! Glad we think things through.

  6. While leveling up (currently 49), I have noticed that every single commendation mod vendor does not have our gear. For instance, the Corellia Mods vendor sells up to 22 Guardian Hilt and 22 Guardian Armoring.

From the same vendor, for the same price, we can only get 20 Might Armoring and 20 Might Hilt. What gives? This doesn't make any sense at all to me. The WoW equivalent would be a PvP vendor who sells ilvl 346 gear to warriors, but for the same amount of honor Shamans only get ilvl 300 gear and there is no 346 available.

Why? I am just utterly confused.

I went Biochem instead of Artifice and I feel like when you choose Sentinel there should be a big pop up saying "YOU PRETTY MUCH NEED ARTIFICE."

Because as I said in another post, Bioware doesnt give 2 shi** about our class. We are nothing but an after thought and they could care less.

  7. You guys haven't figured it out yet? Bioware doesn't give a s*^& about Sentinels. We share the same crappy pvp armor skin as Guardians (hell at least Juggs and Marauders have their own pvp armor), only class with no knockback/pull, broken skills, pve only skills. It's no secret the class is damned hard to play, but they are doing nothing to fix it either.

You would think only being to choose from 3 dps trees, we would absolutely and without a doubt melt people's faces in pvp. With 10% expertise bonus, the only faces I melt are on grays with no Cent/champ gear. If its another level 50 with any amount of pvp gear, forget it, fight of my life.

Melee class, from the JK line, and only 5% defense chance at level 50? Medium armor? Mediocre damage? Whats the point to pick this class over a Scoundrel, who does more damage, has stealth, and can decide to be a healer on a moments notice via respec.

The set bonus's seem to me they rolled a dice to pick a ability to modify, then rolled another dice to pick x amount of focus/timer to reduce.

Only reason I'm still playing this game is to play with my friends online.

TLDR version - Currently there is no freaking incentive to make a Sentinel over a Scound or Guard.

  8. So you're buffing Juggernaut to be even more effective offensively and have even more survivability while leaving Marauder with it's wet noodle and paper bag armor? Am I reading this correctly?

I'm also quite confused as to why the tank spec'ed juggernauts are able to do more damage then the marauders. Going up against the tanks in warzones is extremely difficult because of all the control they have, combined with damage that is on par with the marauder damage, combined with their heavy armor and survivability.

Another point of contention, why is the marauder the only class that has a different armor type then it's sister AC? Power tech's and Mercs share the same heavy armor. Why have you seen fit to give mercs access to quite possibly the easiest damage and abilities in one button, as well as fully capable single target healing, survivability, cc, two knockbacks and heavy armor? I mean in one button a merc does what takes us 6+ and does it better. Hit tracermissle and they do great damage, from range, debuff armor, and buff/proc their two higher damage abilities.

For example, to do similar the Annihilation Marauder has to:

Charge > Deadly saber > Battering assault > cloak of pain > rapture > Annihilate > snare > figure out what to do next in a unlimited possible outcomes.

They have to do all this while:

    - Staying within melee range

    - Overcoming knock-backs, snares and roots

    - Relying on a tank to give them the survivability of their target

    - Relying on a healer to give them the heals their target has themselves

    - Managing the extremely awkward rage resource mechanic

    - Managing multiple interrupts because they can not dish out the damage that a merc arsenal can (which they can do 0-30m), nor can they take said damage like a arsenal can

It's virtually the same with every other class in the game. Tanks out last your damage while doing perfectly good damage themselves, healers out heal your damage, ranged classes knock you back and root you, then kill you before you can have much effect, burst classes stun you and kill you before you can do anything about it.

This class requires the player to be either over-geared or have a massive skill advantage over their competition just to be significant. Add to that the garbage animation system, instant abilities being interrupted, ability delay and animations stuttering and you get a class that gives me no reason to pay $15/mo for the punishment of playing it.

Could not have said it any better myself. I play a Sentinel, pvp geared out, expertise bonus at just under 10%. I eat up un geared level 10s all day, but put me up against a jugg/assain/merc/powertech/inquisit of equal gear, and its like trying to solo the final encounter in my story line all over again(which i died doing 4 times, in full pvp epics, gg class).

To play a game that is dripping with crowd control and knockback abilities, without having any of your own, AS A MELEE CLASS, is not very enjoyable.

  9. I want to add in that I do not feel like a Jedi at all, aside from using 2 lightsabers. Where are my force abilties? Even in some of my quest cutscenes, I force push people away/down, yet I can't do that while playing, ever.

Just take away the lightsabers, give me two vibro swords, and call the class something else. Nothing Jedi about it.

  10. Or take today in Ilum. Sorc rooted me 4 times while he killed my healer compainion, then took me out as his pet healed me.

    4 times.

How do we counter that? A push him away from my pet might have helped, or pulled him back to me.

Hell I even force push people multiple times in my story line. Might as well take away our ability to use lightsabers cause we sure as hell are not Jedi force users.

  11. To be completely honest, I wouldn't dislike some kind of "grip" ability, but it would be OP, we already have the possibility to snare (Leg slash, Cauterize if talented, the last talent in focus I can't remember the name right now), root (Force leap), stun (force stasis).

In a 1v1 scenario, you can avoid to be knockbacked by incing with Force camouflage + zealous strike, once knocbacked you leap and do your rotation.

This game isnt about 1v1 though. Its group based combat. My point is we bring nothing to the table aside from damage, but its too easy to negate our damage by cc.

Give us utility to knock a Marauder off of my sage, or pull someone off of him. Let me do something aside from chasing people around the map the whole time, just to get there and get knock off/away, then rooted.

  12. I'm actually going to disagree on this one.

In a Combat spec, we have two roots which help tremendously... but everyone has access to a snare which allows us to stay on targets very well. A knockback would do us no good. A pull would certainly be useful, but is completely unnecessary IMHO. Yes, we get knocked around a lot, but we have plenty of skills that help get us back into the fight just as quickly.

In Hutball, my Watchman spec is plenty deadly enough to kill the Imp carrier and already has all the necessary utility to be one of the best ball runners in the game. Transcendence gives us a huge burst of speed to offset snares and leave enemies in the dust, Guarded by the Force just flat out lets us walk through fire, Force Leap always gets us to where we need to be and Force Camo allows for some interesting tricks with the ball or getting to it.

Also, you appear to have forgotten about Awe. Absolutely invaluable.

If you ask me, CC is already too heavy in PVP and is a crutch we just don't need any more of.

And since you appear to be interested in the credentials of those replying to your thread, I am an 11+ year MMO vet, have been 50 for some time now, PVP daily and haven't lost a single 1v1 in the open world since turning 50. Carry on.

Well, I disagree with your disagree. The 2 roots you spec of in combat only work maybe 40% of the time. Crippling throw works decent but the Master Strike root is broken beyond all belief. But why should we need to spend 25+ skill points to be able to what other classes are given?

Where do Sentinels stand out? Damage? No, out damaged by Inquisitors, Bounty hunters, and Agents. Tank/CC? Not even options. CC? No.

Whle I do believe there is too much cc in the game as is, we either need more of it to level the playing field, or give us cc immunity for a set time period, instead of popping resolute, then getting stuned right afterwards.

  13. The main problem with Sents in pvp is crowd control abilities. See, for us to do damage, we need to be in melee range. For us to build focus to do damage, we need to be in melee range. Currently there are way too many ways to keep us out of melee range, thus making us a nonfactor.

Almost every other class has some form of a push or pull. Us? Nothing. Huttball? Forget about it. Our one job in Huttball is leap up to a ledge, just so we can get knocked off of a ledge. Our only form of crowd control is channeled, can be interupted, and is on a long cooldown. I've had other classes hit me with a knocback, then a root/freeze, just to keep dpsing me while im stuck. My favorite is the knockback and root in the SAME skill.

We need more utility. Other classes have dps/heal, dps/tank choices, with the exception of gunslinger. All we have is dps, dps, dps. That being said, we are not even the best at doing dps. So why gimp the class?

I level to 50 as combat, and I respeced to watchmen. Watchmen is currently the best spec in pvp and pve in my opinion.

Giving the propsed changes will not fix all of the problems with the class, but it will be a good start.

And if other Sentinels want to chip in their 2 cents, please hit 50 first and pvp more than twice. I read many whine posts about the class leveling up so I waited to hit 50, get really good, before making an assesment.

  14. You have no idea what you're talking about. There were no restrictions a month in beta before launch, you don't have a leg to stand on. Also, name a single star wars video game that limits lightsaber choice based on force alignment, I DARE YOU

How old are you? Beta is just that, BETA! Hell we are still playing beta imo.

And video games sets the precedent on a universe that was created close to 40 years ago? That's almost as bad as things being true cause they are on the internet.

  15. I honestly don't get how you can die that often with Force Camo...

Not saying it's impossible, we all have our bad days, but between Awe, Saber Ward, Force Camo, and Transcendence, there is some great escapability in this class. Even people who hate this class make comments like "Only thing Sents are good for is running from a fight."

Prolly because in any qarzone you are guarentted to enocunter no less than 4 bounty hunters. Since there are no diminshing returns in this game, each stun, root, etc hits you for the full effect. It is not uncommon to be stunned for 9 seconds straight untill you are dead, unable to do anything.

I refuse to solo warzone on my sent. Rerolling a tropper just so I can blend and and dps from afar.

  16. im level 20 and im currently wrecking in warzones. Unless im completely surrounded by 5 or more people i dont have a hard time 1v1'ing anybody. Im also really strong against healers.

I cant count how many times i watch a healer "la la la" heal everyone and then when i appear you can notice the "oh crap" syndrome where they dont know what to do.

The class is hard, lots of buttons and you need them all. Other than that, its not broken by any means.

Obivously you have the whole class figured out by 20.

  17. So, I havent really complained about the whole 1+ hour que thing for the past week, cause well, its launch.

Then yesterday, I had entered in my final product code to continue keeping my subscription active, however I did not realize that you had to subscribe to take advantage of the first month for free. So when I tried to subscribe, I was in a freaking que to log in to the site to PAY them. Then had to wait another 1.5 hours just to get in game. But I diddn't comlain about that, cause they posted it, I just missed it. My bad.

Just now, group wiped in Taral V, I chose to revive at med center and crash to desktop. Try to log back in, I'm in a que again.

WHY am I in a freaking que if my character is still logged into the game?

I really enjoy the game so far, but all this stupid stuff is really wearing on my nerves.
