Hey notanenglishspeaker- do you know what 'engrossed' means? It means you are interested in the story and dont skip quest text. So when you are skipping quest text in wow that means you aren't engrossed in the story. Read a book or two, you sound dumb! SWTOR has so far been the best MMO I have played and I've played a lot. I say that because I'm leveling up right now and the leveling up experience has been great. It is the only MMO where I have been 'engrossed' in the story and didnt feel like I was just grinding to 50. The group quests have also been fun and very interesting in that you actually have to use CC and planning instead of just AOEing down every mob. We had some guy who just blindly AOEd down all our CCs and we wiped time and time again even though he was 5-6 levels over the mobs. So, in other words its not braindead like post-vanilla WoW. Whether the endgame is bad or not, I dont know. I DO know that a lot of the people complaining about endgame haven't even reached 50 yet, lol. Not to mention there are only a few 50's on my server so its a bit premature to judge yet even for them. Regardless, having bad endgame isnt a unique thing. A certain other MMO that I'm sure most of these trolls come from was originally horrible in endgame. But it picked up quickly and I'm sure SWTOR will as well.

Okay so you skip all the story elements and cutscenes and then try and claim the game is boring... really intelligent.

I'm sure there are hardly any high end raiding or pvp going on at level 50 simply because most people are still leveling. Yet you guys are judging the endgame already... thats pretty ridiculous. And to be quite honest the OPs points were pretty trivial and while they may be annoying I certainly think that the strengths far overshadow the weaknesses I have experienced so far. The game isnt beyond criticism, but saying its not worth a monthly fee because it doesnt have addons is just plain dumb. I believe one of the reasons I read that they didn't want addons was so they could control boss encounters and make them more challenging without simply beefing up HP and damage. So there is no addon that flashes across your screen saying GO LEFT or MOVE THERES A BOMB. It makes sense to me and hopefully will lead to more interesting raiding content. The leveling for me has been great so far. I do a lot of quests alone but there are always 5-6 group quests per planet. More importantly, I never feel like I'm being forced to go kill 50 wild boars for some guy. The content is actually FUN for me. That in and of itself is worth $.

Just posting my agreement that there should be server forums. In other games I always used the server forums to 'get to know' a new server and also to stay in contact with the other faction, post achievements and challenges, figure out who the important guilds were, etc. Without them, I have no clue about my server. No idea what guild to join or if there are even any worthwhile guilds in the whole server. So now I'm level 20 without any clue about my server or what guild to join. No clue if there are any guilds on this server that will be worth joining so im potentially setting myself up for wasting a lot of time leveling for nothing.
