  1. I think people are getting skill and gear confused. You don;t know the skill of the player you are being grouped with, all you know is his gear, given even odds the player is good or bad, I will take the better geared player every time. In short, i don't care if the bad geared player might have amazing skill or the good geared player might be poorly skilled, since the opposite is just as likely to be true, if not more so.
  2. So, I haven't played in a month, so I figured I would log in and see what is new, and do my server transfer.... and servers are down on a Sunday afternoon, ***. Nice Job.
  3. It is too late, the damage caused by not having this at launch has already been done, although the lack of add-ons is the reason my wife quit, most of my guildies(we have 3 left out of 50+) quit due to the lack of LFG, these people will not be coming back, they gave SWtoR its chance, and SWtoR failed to keep them. Maybe the next SW MMO will get it right.
  4. with how the servers are instanced, i was surprised they have more than one server per region, just didn't make sense to me.
  5. why should people have to wait 10 minutes to play the game? why can't we just play it? Let's say you have 2 people on a server that want to run a level 35 flashpoint, how long are they supposed to wait to find 2 more people? or lets say you have 200 people online in dalaran, but no one on your server is even interested i doing Occulos, but you want to go do it, sure I can guilt some guildies,(odds are they are already running something so I will have to wiat for them to finish) into doing something they dont want to do, or maybe I could queue for cross server LFD and find the other 4 people on 4 other servers that are having a heck of a time finding a group the same instance that no one else wants to run. Cross server LFD is a win-win, I get to run the instance that I want to, I don't have to bug other people to run an instance they don't want to and i get into it under 30 seconds and I get to help other people that may have never been able to find a group for it. I have absolutely loved it since its inception in wow, I have had less than 10 fail groups and I have 100s of dungeons. I honestly don't see the terrible people in LFD that others do.
  6. IN EQ2 it never happened that you couldn't find a group for a dungeon? I think I am just gonna call BS, either that or they didn't have nearly as much content as WoW.
  7. my guild of ~40 people that came over from WoW is down to 3 people, all of them left at least in part due to no LFD, BW has already driven off a ton of players that would have stayed if there was an LFD, and it is due to them listening to the vocal minority that claimed LFD ruins communities, well, there soon won't be a community to ruin.
  8. complete lies... There was no community, then cross server LFD just revealed it was a bad community. If I can stand in Shattrath spamming for an hour Tank LFG Heroic SH, there is no community. I absolutely loved LFD tool, I could get in get some dungeons done and never even have to talk to anyone, cause I sure as heck wasn't running them to make friends I already had plenty.. I was GM of a guild with 300 people in WoW, we were one of the top raiding guilds on my server, from BC through WotLK, I was a main tank in full end game raid gear, and it was a PITA to find groups for random heroics, cause not enough people on one server wanted to do them.
  9. Anyway OP, since you haven't played MMOs, you would be unaware of this, but I will let you know, that there is always a special place for your first MMO love, and you are experiencing that. For me it was Star Wars Galaxies, there will always be a special place in my heart for that original game. After playing many, many more MMOs I still feel that the potential of SWG was unparalleled, however, out of the 10+ MMOs i have played, I must say world of warcraft is by far the best, but after so many years of playing it like a job, it gets old, and you move on to other things hoping to find that next great game. SWToR had a ton of potential, but the longer it goes without getting to where it needs to be, the less likely that it will ever see its full potential.
  10. i have regularly taken other newer players under my wing and helped them learn the games mechanics and given them advice on how to improve and helped them get the best gear/items available, but that was in SWG/CoH/WoW. There was this one time, when i met a player that was struggling as a tank when I was playing my alt, I gave him some advice and some decent gear I ahd laying around. I gave hims osme gold and an invite to my guild, and told him what he had to do if he wanted to be one of the best tanks on the server. He showed up to every raid, and before you knew it he was an officer in my guild and leading raids and kicking butt as a tank and at one point even had me out geared, but that was in WoW. I am having trouble finding players willing to even talk in this game.
  11. maybe my guild was different, but we were a high end raiding guild, not server best, but one of the best, we had free repairs for raiders and free flasks/elixiers/pots for raiders. We made plenty of gold from selling BoEs. We had at least 500k gold
  12. I am absolutly sick of a lot of things in this game, and I might be one of the bigget critics of this game, but one thing I will never ever critize a game for is nerfs, they are requried, no game designer ever gets things right the first time, and that includes class balance. Never ever get mad at a game over something as small as a nerf or a buff, those things are expected to happen. I would be even more upset if the design team didnt care about balance and never nerfed anything. Also, your marauder was not hard to master, or you wouldn't have done it in a few short months.
  13. Too easy, and boring, and not enough people to play with. Combat is sluggish, classes are meh design, leveling is so incredibly boring. I can't imagine anyone, myself included, would even be playing this game if it wasn't called star wars.
  14. there could be 200 people in fleet that is still almost no one IMO. if the game was healthy I would expect about 500 people.
  15. Burden of knowledge, it is that simple. People learn their abilties and expect them to work a certain way, they shouldnt suddenly work a different way when doing something else. IMO they should keep as many abilties as possible the same for both PvP and PvE, it helps immersion and makes the game cleaner. If they nerf an ability in PvP that affects performance in PvE, assuming the class didnt need a PvE nerf, there should be a buff to a PvE abiltiy to compensate, and vice verse
  16. I dont even understand this comment... nerfs are sometimes necessary, I prefer to think of them as bug fixes, the content shouldnt be as easy as it is. If something isn;t working the way the devs want it to, they change it to try and get it closer to how it shold be, who careswhat their reasoing is, they are fixing the game, and hopefully improving it. It has absolutly no impact on the lore, or john williams soundtracks or any of that stuff. I love a balanced game that is challenging, unfortunatly for you the devs and most players prefer a balanced game to a completly unbalanced game. And nerfs and buffs are completly relative... My main is a Bounty hunter tank, if sith juggernaut tanks get buffed, that means I just got nerfed.
  17. And I want a PvP MMO with PvE with this style and depth of gameplay. Does that sound like MW3 to you?
  18. I honestly have no idea what your complaint is You say you like the game because you love star wars, its lore, its themes and the wodnerful soundtracks of John Williams. How does nerfing an attacks damage by a few percent effect any of those?
  19. yeah i don't think people realize how few 170 people is, I have organized faction raids of 120+ people in WoW, and that was just the people that were in the mood to go raid faction cities, not to mention the 100+ defenders that would show up to try and stop us. And it was easy, it was just a simply pick up thing, I would just set up open recruitement and go, took maybe 30 minutes to get 3 raid groups full and ready to kick butt. These kinds of raids are still happenieng in WoW. When you have groups of 100s of players together, playing together. This game simply doesn't have that. Yes I want this game to have a nice massive feel to it, and have a community with numerous palyers that I can interact with, I love that interaction, I was GM of a WoW guild with over 350 people in it, one of the biggest on my server, yes one of, it wasnt the biggest, we would regularly have 40-80 members online at a time. Why can't I get anything like that going in this game?
  20. PvP is where a games imbalances become more obvious. I really don't see a problem with balancing PvP for the people that like it. PvE is so mind numbingly easy that every class could use significant nerfs if they actually were to attempt to balance PvE.
  21. Are you seriously failing to down content, in this game? if you are, the problem isnt the nerfed classes.
  22. How does balancing PvP hurt your enjoyment? I mean seriously, does you enjoyment hinge on how much DPS your class does? Heck you don't even know how much DPS your class does or howyou do relative to the max of your class. The could theorhetically nerf a classes damage by 50% accross then board, and tha class might still have the highest damage out put, since we have no idea what the numbers are.
  23. This is the key to me. SWToR is simply an inferior version of WoW, the game is so amazingly similar it is almost a reskin, except the fact that it doesn't have enarly as many features and is not nearly as good. If this game didn't have the star wars brand, no one would be playing it. I want this game to succeed so much, but it just makes me sad, everytime I play, at all the wasted potential.
