  1. Actually, I'm curious...has anyone else been experiencing issues with the actual quests when you're raising her affection? I keep getting affection gains during her personal quests, but when I complete the quests, I don't get those affection gains with her.
  2. I have a really, really hard time believing that the UI is done in flash. My computer does not handle flash well at all. My entire system has been known to lock up within two hours when I use anything that involves flash. I have been able to run SWTOR for over 12 hours at a time.
  3. You actually have to click a button to make the heal happen. You don't just mouse over and have the heal magically go off. That isn't how it works. Yes, I absolutely did. The only thing I didn't have to do was manually target them. I had to click the correct button for the heal to go off. Perhaps in your delusions. I have exactly no respect for someone who is lying through their teeth, which you are. I thought for a moment about trying to reason with you. But it's really too much trouble. You're wrong, and you're either willfully ignorant about how wrong you are, or you're lying because you personally don't like addons.
  4. ... *takes a big breath* *tries to resist* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am SO SICK OF PEOPLE MISUNDERSTANDING HOW MOUSOVER MACROS WORK. I AM SO SICK OF IT. OH MY GOD. If I use a Mouseover Macro to target and heal someone, I HAVE CHOSEN MY OWN GODDAMNED TARGET. I MADE THE CHOICE TO CAST THE HEAL ON THEM. THE FACT THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO FIRST TARGET THEM AND THEN PRESS A BUTTON TO HEAL THEM DOES NOT MEAN THAT SOMETHING ELSE PLAYED THE GAME FOR ME. THIS IS A STUPID, FALLACIOUS ARGUMENT AND IT NEEDS TO BE SET ON FIRE.:mad: There are not enough words in this world to describe the complete and utter stupidity of this statement. Addons automate nothing. The fact that you seem to believe that they do illustrates that you are a) ignorant or b) willfully lying. If you are ignorant, then please, for the love of god, read what poster after poster has tried to explain to you about how addons work. Do research for yourself instead of spouting things you read in other posts or heard from your buddies. Addons do not automate anything for you. If you are willfully lying, then you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to get what you want by twisting the truth. Then they will go through the game without addons and never be the wiser. But the long-term players will likely start to see pictures of UIs, tales of particular addons that make the UI look so much better, get curious, and do research. God forbid this happen. Listen, another poster put it best, but I'll try to reiterate: Addons will never make me better than you are. One of us will be the better player whether we use addons or not. Keep telling yourself that the reason you're getting sat is because that mean person is using addons. You're wrong. If you're getting sat, it's because you're doing something wrong. Of course, you'll probably never be able to figure out what you're doing wrong, because you're so against addons you can't even see the benefit of being able to see a combat log parse to tell why the hell you died. I'm not saying you're bad. I'm saying you're either ignorant or lying when you talk about addons. I'm honestly not sure which one is worse.
  5. This is simply not true. At least, not in normal modes. Morchok? Not needed. Zon'ozz? -Possibly-, simply for ease of watching the stacks on the bouncy ball, but otherwise, there are so many visual cues in the fight that you'd never need a boss mod to tell you when to move. Yor'sahj? DBM just makes reaction time faster by putting the ooze colors in the middle of your screen, and making a sound when Mana Void comes out. Hagara? Maybe. It definitely makes it easier to avoid getting instant gibbed by her frost phase, and reminds you to look for people about to be tombed. Ultraxion? Wait, what? Are you serious? o_O Warmaster Blackhorn? Um, no. Spine? It makes tracking the debuff's progress on party members significantly easier, and cuts down on the need for healers to monitor how many stacks the amalgamation has. It also cuts down on the time you have to spend hunting for the Burning Tendon, and makes a VERY loud noise when you're about to kill the raid through stupidity. Doable without DBM? Absolutely. Madness? Probably more difficult without DBM. Everything DBM does with this fight, however, is just a reminder this boss ability will be happening soon. That's honestly it. It's just timers. I'm glad that you're totally happy with the UI and absolutely don't need anything to fix it. We're not all in the same boat. Like I said earlier, I want this: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7019/6698702953_b4c77069f4_b.jpg I want that level of pretty. I want that level of function. I want that level of customization. And addons are the only thing that can give it to me.
  6. I'm rather of the opinion that the "hard part" is that it's impossible to know, for instance, how much DPS your DPS are doing. How much healing is going out. Why people are dying. Etc. Annoying when a major part of the "difficulty" is that you're effectively raiding blind.
  7. This is my UI: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7019/6698702953_b4c77069f4_b.jpg It has everything exactly as I want it to be. To me, it's visually attractive. I can easily see the CDs that I need, and the visible bars hold everything I need to have access to at a moment's notice. You may notice that everything is basically under my character's feet, including the raid frames. This is very important to me, as a healer, to help me with movement, and knowing when I'm standing in fire. I can't achieve anything close to this with the current SWTOR UI. And as a poster above said, that makes it a game - but it's not my game. It's not my UI. It's a clunky thing that I have to work around to function. That isn't fun for me. Maybe that makes me bad. All I know is that I have a better, less stressful time when I can set my UI up the way I want it, with addons that make my UI look prettier and make healing more intuitive to me.
  8. I don't even understand why this is still an argument. They already confirmed there will be addon support in a future patch. There will be macros and a combat log. Scream all you want, but they actually have their heads screwed on straight, thank god.
  9. I'm just tired of him behaving like a battered spouse. xD I swear, my Inquisitor has never so much as said an unkind word to him, never raised a hand to him, but from his behavior, you'd think I was beating the ever-loving crap out of him every night. It's annoying!
  10. The Devs have also said they're releasing addon support, so I'm not even sure why we're having this pointless argument since there are going to be addons in the game whether you want them there or not. But, I've played Rift, touted by many to have one of the best and most adjustable UIs in the industry. That UI wasn't customizable enough for me. It didn't do what I wanted it to do. I know for a fact that Bioware cannot make the perfect UI for me. I also know that I can make the perfect UI for myself, wtih the help of a few addons.
  11. No, it just has giant crap all over my screen that I can't move or get rid of, a companion bar where I want my chat window, and buttons the size of Texas, and no way to tell who is targeting who. Nah, this UI is perfect...yeah...or something...
  12. True. And I don't know why, but it really works. Having someone say over vent, "Burn boss, burn boss" just seems to jar people into pushing harder.
  13. Most of the fights in WoW currently, at least on normal mode, have audible cues as to when a new phase is starting/a boss ability is going out. It is not that difficult to follow them as long as you can also track your debuff bar and click a button occasionally. Of course, there are some people still incapable of doing any of this...
