  1. I agree, margins are low, but so far I can still turn a pretty good daily profit with buying rare mats, there's just no going market rate for them. I just wish it would stabilize a little, I feel like I'm buying Nike's in Cuba right now. One of the things I've noticed is that tier 2 purple crafted items (see Reverse Engineering guide sticky if not sure what I mean) almost always require a rare purple mat to manufacture. Purple mats do not show up very often at all in crew skills missions, and when they finally do they are usually in small quantities. And if it happens to be an Underworld Trading mat or some other skill with no world drops, then alternative options are almost non-existent. Do all of the crew skills vendors on every planet have the exact same product offering set? I'll be honest, as an armormech i think i only recognized one or two mats from the offering list, and those were very common/simple to obtain from crew skills. If crew skills vendors are different on different planets, can anyone give me a planet that has a decent crew skills vendor for armormech?
  2. Yes, I meant to say Underworld, not scavenging. Duce has good idea with world nodes, but since it is Underworld Trading I don't think there are any. Another Question: As your mission crew skills increases, do you get more items from lower level crew missions? For example, if I was lvl 400 Underworld Trading, would I get more mats from a lvl 1 UT metals mission or would I get the same amount of mats as when I'm starting out? In other words, does your crew skill level affect how many mats you bring home from a mission, or just what missions are available and your success rate?
  3. I've found a lucrative niche on the GTN for Armormech items, but one of the raw mats I need is a Level 1 Scavenged Metal, Agrinium. Agrinium is purple and its pretty rare to come across in scavenging missions. Now that my Scavenging skill level is much higher I have no real use for all of the crap mats I'm picking up while trying to get the random Agrinium mats, and the low level scavenging missions looking for Agrinium are not helping advance my scavenging skill anymore, either. Since Agrinium isn't sold at any crew skills vendor (that I've found) I turned to the GTN, but the prices people are asking there are astronomical. I have never played WOW or any other MMO with a trade market, so I have two general questions: 1. Are the mat prices on the GTN stable yet or are they expected to come down over time? I get the feeling that a lot of the market demand hasn't settled out yet, and some commodity mats haven't really stabilized into a viable selling price. Based on previous MMO markets, what can we expect for GTN mat prices in the future? 2. Does anyone know of other avenues for obtaining mats than the GTN, crew missions, or crew skills vendors? I know you can trade with other players somehow, but not sure of best way of approaching this.
  4. It gave me a heart attack when I went to NS market and saw that all 10 of my items for sale had disappeared into the ether, but then figured out is separate market. Don't see why anyone would get bent out of shape about it, if no one likes it, then they won't use it. I like having an outlet to trade between factions. But I'm not going all the way to NS on a regular basis to check.
  5. I can confirm. there doesn't seem to be any difference in Tier 2 Artifacts that come from the Green->Blue->Purple path or the Blue->Purple->Purple path. In the end I think the final items you get are the same. However, I kind of suspect that your character level or craft skill level at the time you learn the item determines what level the final item you manufacture will be? Not certain, but i RE'd some purple Hawkeye Gauntlets early on and they're only level 11 to equip, but over time as i make more they still seem to be level 11.
  6. I don't know, the game let me burn a ton of RE items before I understood that "Overkill, Redoubt, Critical" were the only ones you can get. If schematics are limited, it would make some crafted items much more rare, and crafters would be able to distinguish themselves from others even at skill level 400. But then you can have people just sitting on a skill... You're right, it does seem dumb.
  7. I wonder if they are limiting the total number of acquirable and learnable schematics for each item to preserve the balance of rarity of items? So lets say only 10 people can learn schematics for level 49 purple items, but 100s of people can learn level 15 purple items.
  8. Anyone figure out if you can RE artifact items for schematics yet? I'm not burning resources if not. PS they need to fix the freakin item colors. There's 8 distinct colors in a kindergarten box of crayola crayons, yet we have two slightly different shades of purple for Artifact and Legendary items. What happened to red, brown, yellow, or black?
  9. How do you use the legacy? Where do i pick my legacy name?
  10. This is a game glitch. I left the city and did a run through of Ferra's palace. When I returned, Mako had all of her passive skills listed under her "companion" tab under abilities. For some reason they just didn't show up right away. I still have that strange entry for "light armor" under the "general" tab, though...
  11. Where do the companion's passive weapon and armor proficiencies show up on the 'Abilities' window? I'm a level 10 bounty hunter and recently acquired Mako. However, under the 'companion' tab in 'Abilities', she only has the following abilities listed: Attack Blaster Stance Charged Shot Field Dress Med Scan Med Watch Passive She's supposed to have Vibroblade, Blaster Pistol, and Light and Medium armor listed, but they're not on there (or I'm supposed to be looking somewhere else?). Also, strangely, I now have "Armor Proficiency: Light" listed as a passive ability under the 'General' tab, but the rest of my proficiencies still show up in the "Bounty Hunter" tab... Is this a glitch or something? Its difficult to kit her out and can't even really tell what she can use...
