  1. Thank you for this piece of information. This is yet another reason for me not to subscribe to this game.
  2. @Darth_Nikon: You are completely correct in all of it (or at least I agree completely). To me, BioWare/EA has alienated me from the game due to this credit card requirement that meant I didn't get my free 30 days subscription (I got 27 days due to system malfunction on their end). To me, the only thing SW:TOR has in advantage to WoW right now is that I find WoW not to my liking anymore (after years of changing it, Blizzard ruined the experience enough for me). I haven't even been logged in for days in SW:TOR due to the alienation and because, well, not enough of my friends want to play it (and those who do have chosen different servers). All in all, I find the SW:TOR startup to horrid and for now, I feel I wasted my money, more so than with Warhammer Online (which actually included 30 days free playtime).
  3. BioWare has always been extreme about copy protection and it seems, also about luring people to pay extra to play sw:tor. Due to their copy protection system, I refuse to buy any more single player games from BioWare, and well, SW:TOR is also the last MMO I will buy from them. Kind of stupid of them to alienate customers this way.
  4. I am not an american, I am Danish. I am just very annoyed about this business practice and can't believe it is legal in Denmark. It certainly isn't necessary to scam people as BioWare has done.
  5. When I bought WoW, I got 30 days free play, no subscription necessary. When I bought Warhammer Online, I got 30 days free play, no subscription necessary. When I bought LOTRO, I got 30 days free play, no subscription necessary. When I bought Conan, I got 30 days free play, no subscription necessary. When I bought SW:TOR, I MUST subscribe, entering CC details, making the 30 days playtime not free at all. I honestly feel scammed, but as players in WoW said years ago, EA is the root of all evil in the game community. They obviously were correct. I also checked to see how I could make a lawsuit about this, but it would cost me too much time and money (although I'd get my money back when I won). In the end, after suffering days of downtime due to crappy webservers and backend, I subscribed with CC, unsubscribed AND deleted my CC details from their database. I'll probably ask them to hand me all information they have on me and if my credit card details are among them, they haven't really deleted that information. They MUST comply with this. Horrible, horrible business descision. I for one will not recommend this game to my friends or even mention I play it. Sure, it may hurt my own playtime in the game, but maybe I wont be playing this game after the remaining "free" playtime is up anyway. This whole issue has next to ruined my will to play SW:TOR... I hate dishonesty.
