  1. If you go up to a stronghold and return, the wall will be clickable. Just did this 11/1/2015.
  2. After just having to repeat the entire starter planet because of ending up in the wrong advanced class at level 10 (long story, in another thread), it occurs to me that there is no reason we couldn't pick our Advanced class at character creation, or within the first 5 minutes of gameplay. This would allow mistakes to be fixed by rerolling and only being our 5 minutes of time, instead of the 3 hours it took to rerun the first planet and get to lvl 10. You would still not get the abilities any earlier, and you could repurpose the the current quest chain as an introduction to your new abilities, and they would still hand you your gear. No game changers, just preventing a lot of frustration since tech support doesn't seem to have the ability to undo the Advanced Class selection. Thanks for the consideration!
  3. I don't think there should be a character cap at all. The only people hurt are the subscribers. As a F2P, all you have to do is get a new email address, and you get two more characters. Subs won't so this because of the time they've invested in legacy and crafting alts, but the F2P restrictions remove the one account incentive. I would propose they change the character cap for subs to something more like only one level 1 character per account, or one character less than level 10, or less than 1 hour /played time. That way you don't get a lot of unused characters to store, but subs can go alt crazy. If storage space becomes an issue, then characters that are idle for more than a month could be placed in "hibernation" (placed in offline storage), with a day or so wait for them to be "thawed" (restored from offline storage). This would stop people from having a bunch of name saving level ones, really incent alt-ing (which is where the game really shines anyway), and provide a really strong incentive to sub. Just my 2 credits...
  4. If you are on a "destination server", even if you started there without transferring, you will also get the comms and mini-pet. The condition for the award is not whether you have transferred, but rather whether your character is on one of the destination servers at just before midnight on July 30th.
  5. I friend of mine suggested the ability for guildies to "loan" their companions to the guild ship for crafting purposes. Basically, any guildie could go to my companion on the ship and have them craft anything I can craft, without needing me to be involved (the guildie would provide the mats, of course), even when I'm not online.
  6. This is incorrect. When you abandon a normal mission, you will get a get a prompt "Are you sure you want to abandon that quest." with a "yes" or "no" option. If you attempt to abandon a quest than cannot be picked up again, you will get a paragraph of text that states you will not be able to pick up the quest again, and the option to "confirm" or "cancel" your request. If you aren't looking for it, it easy to miss the difference in the messages though. I think the take away is to make sure you read the warning messages when they pop up, sometimes they are important...
  7. Never has more truth been written...
  8. Yes, they said you would get to "continue your story"...
  9. Any chance you "upgraded" your off hand and put a dps generator in instead of a shield? It's pretty easy to do and would explain what you are experiencing...
  10. Usually from "social vendors". You will often find them in cantinas, but they can be found scattered most anywhere. There are also other vendors, like the space combat vendor who sells pilot outfits for space commendations, and the security vendor, that has a set or two. If you're looking for a specific set, it's best to google to find the right vendor.
  11. The biggest argument against alacrity is that you will blow through your ammo/energy mechanism too fast. Some of the ammo mechanisms slow their regeneration rate as you use them, so while alacrity would give you a faster burst of dps/healing, you will end up having fewer resources to use over the course of the battle as your resource will be stuck at the lowest regen rate. This actually came up in this weeks Q&A, so you can see they are aware of this issue, but haven't figured out a good way to get around this yet.
  12. It's a bug. I don't believe it's been officially acknowledged, but I have the same issue. The thing is, the bug used to be that the companions never re-summoned when they were supposed to, and that was potentially lethal (like when you would get knocked off a speeder). It looks to me like they hit the bug with a sledgehammer by just always resummoning, an that they over shot the mark. I would expect them to fix the issue when they can, but variations of this bug have been around for a while, so it seems a hard one for them to kill...
  13. You might be able to get a pale one, but it will take some effort. There has been talk that the DNA vendor might be returning for a short period of time. If the vendor is returned, you will need 60 DNA to buy the pet. The good news is, even without the event, you can still get DNA by finding someone still infected with the plague (there is an underground movement to keep the plague alive) and letting them explode on you. Once you are sick, wait around 20 minutes until you explode, then you will be awarded 5 DNA. Repeat 11 more times, and you will have the DNA...
  14. Well, this took a nasty turn.. I was annoyed when I was accidentally flagging myself by buffing, raising a PvP player in the middle of the desert, but now I have been intentionally flagged PvP by another player with no action on my part. I went to the event vendor, and there were several republic players there. Some were flagged, and I was a little concerned, but I wasn't flagged and I figured I've pretty much figured out all the weird flag rules enough not to fall for any, so I proceed to the vendor. Shortly thereafter they start launching AOEs all around me. I'm not falling for it though, and I take my hands off the mouse and keyboard. No way I'm flagging myself in the middle of this setup. Then the warning sound... I'm now flagged PvP... my companion starts shooting and blasting heals. I have absolutely not touched a single button. Realizing I was setup I just book it out of there, leaving my companion to die (she deserved it) and stall them long enough for me to get away. I reported the group for harassment and the service bot was nice enough to unflag me without making me go all the way back to a cantina, but that group stayed at the event vendor. I just logged out in disgust. Hopefully bioware took some action against that group, but I'll never know. My suspicion is they are somehow tricking the companions into engaging in the fight, and that that is what caused the flagging. I really hope they get this fixed before whatever next world event they have up their sleeves...
