  1. So why are you going on and on about how horribly you've been nerfed, at least according to you? If it's just a game and we need to loosen up, you may want to take up that very same advice yourself (and before you tell me to stop crunching numbers and overanalyzing the game, that's how *I* enjoy the game). Thank you for the information. I didnt understand all of that. Crunch away if thats what you like. There is no question that tanks take more damage in the new content though that is to be expected. And that with a gear reset comes a whole new "arms race" Besides the in your face number downgrades i suppose its more of a feel of being the whipping boy in the newer content. Of only being alive because of constant incoming heals and cooldowns always in use. I suppose that is what the devs want. I meant no insult to those who did not insult me.
  2. You folks all say tanks arent nerfed but overnight the 30 50 50 defense shield and absorb plunged thru the floor.. My defense was almost halved and shield and absorb went down by over ten percent. How is that not a nerf? I know im supposed to grind gear to get it back up right? Well the day after the patch none of my healers or dps were less effective. They only grew more powerful. And from reading what alot of folks who prefer tanking say they seem to be a bunch egomaniac elitist jerks whom i wouldnt enjoy playing with anyway. Its just a game loosen up.
  3. So nobody feels like nerfing tanks and buffing dps and heals is contributing to the lack of tanks. Maybe this mmo isnt like all the rest where everybody wants to play the op classes. Maybe this community is the one exception. hmm.
  4. 4k on a crit? I crit for 9k on my commando with demo round. Now you can guard me but who will guard the others. Anybody with any kind of gear pulls on trash. you are spewing nonsense. nobody can hold aggro when the big boys crit. Thats the way devs want it. But the purpose of this thread was to discuss what is wrong with tanking that there are not enough folks that want to do it specifically in 55 hmfps. you are not adding to that in any way. I say its because tanking is not as much fun and feels underpowered. Others say its because there is no reward due to low chance of tanking specific drops. But most seem to say they have farmed enough comms to get 69 level gear then stopped. But there should be more and new tanks behing them looking to get gear and comms and there dont seem to be. There seems to be a finite number of players who want to tank in this game and that is what i feel indicates that there is a problem. It has in my opinion and clearly in others opinions very limited appeal. So what should be done within game to make tanking appealing to a wider audience?
  5. It is impossible to hold groups of trash together when the ship strikes and mortar volleys come raining down. They pull every time. Force sweep and its ilke do nothing. Area taunt if held till after initial strikes works momentarily then not. Any dps can pull any trash mob off you at any time. Even guarded healers can pull trash that they are not even hitting. TFB trash is a pita. I shouldnt have to worry about not pulling too much trash to me. I used to be alot tougher. Now i will die in trash fights without liberal use of cooldowns and good heals. The point about jumping to a mob and having his proximity fused knockback go off is very valid. It makes me feel like a douche not a hero. The devs decided to make fights more about great heals and fast dps than uber tough tanks. And it just isnt as much fun for me. And clearly im not alone.
  6. This is my point, tanking in pve makes you a plaything for even weak mobs, and grabbing and keeping aggro is a pain in the ***. Also there were already a lack of tanks queing for hmfp at 50. Then devs nerfed the **** out of tanks AND buffed the crap out of dps and heals on the way to 55. Why would i want to run on my underpowered totally dependant tank when i can be on an overpowered self sufficient healer or commando? And to be clear i define power in tanking as the ability to resist damage and to grab and keep aggro.
  7. I get what tanking is and i enjoyed it more pre 2.0. Getting aggro on trash shouldnt be such a pain. Trash sholdnt hit harder in many cases than the boss. Trash should taunt like the boss. It doesnt. The gearing curve is the same for all there should be as many tanks looking to run hmfp as other classes. There arent because there are a select number of people who enjoy tanking as it currently exists. And they have the gear. Its all good, i can tank what i like and run flashpoints for my friends like you do. But it doesnt mean that its as fun as the other classes and even less so since the nerf IMO.
  8. The fact that there are not enough tanks proves that people dont want to play them. I didnt say I have trouble with 55hm i said its difficult to find tanks for even such simple content . There should be all sorts of folks to run the low end stuff. Tanking is in trouble. Dont care if you agree.
  9. The majority of folks running tanks will vote on how much fun it is by their availability. As it stands the results are that its not fun. Que for anything as dps and see how long the wait is. Que as tank and you are in instantly. It needs to be changed. I dont feel uber as a tank. I get it done, the group has sucess but i am a punk getting pushed around and pulled off from. I should get to feel heroic too. My dps will pull off any tank with ease if i dont walk on eggshells. My healers can prevent death even in seemingly the toughest situation. But i always have to strategize and cheese with my tank. And constantly work to keep and get back aggro especially on trash. How is that heroic?
  10. Because in this game tanks have always been playthings for every mob to come down the pike. Tossed around like a two dollar whore. But now tanks are glass two dollar whores that break when played with. And why should i work my *** off to hold aggro against dps who have become much more powerfull when i have been nerfed into the ground? Screw it ill dps and take it easy or heal and have the challenge of keeping you glass playthings alive. People looking to run 55hmfp are popping into every room in mumble to beg folks even on the opposite faction to tank party content. Thats pathetic. Tanking is not fun its work. And the fact that you cant find em proves my point.
  11. FE HM , lost island, and other FPs will wipe without interrrupting certain boss abilities. In a fp with 3 players watching the boss (healer does'nt) having even one without an interrupt is a liability. If you try lost island with 2 commandos for dps you will wipe. Its less of a problem in raids with more players involved but i still feel like im not pulling my weight without a boss interrupt. Thanks for making my commando a liability Bioware.
