    Well I play to have fun and not necessarily chase gear so my view of things are different. Even in the event they do farm me its about 8-10 minutes of time burned and I'm still earning medals anyway. If I actually DO feel like its hopeless and I'm getting frustrated I will leave but I'm not going to re-queue. I'm going to go do something else with my time because I'm not enjoying myself. If you don't want a 15 minute deserter debuff that's totally fine and that's absolutely your opinion. The only justification for a lack of a penalty though is always going to be "I'm looking to steamroll because I fear competition." Honestly, if sitting in a losing warzone for 15 minutes makes people rage-quit then they deserve a 15 minute timeout.
  4. Posting to say that HuttBall is pretty awesome and the only real problem with it is that its the only map you can face your faction on. So if you're in an overpopulated faction you're probably sick of playing it. I think a few tweaks might be handy (those air vents can be a little annoying at times) but otherwise the premise is very sound.

    Generally people that scream and rant and rave leave and a good majority of players stick around because its just a game and there's no reason to get bent out of shape because the other team is providing some measure of competition.

    Since its just a video game I don't get all bent out of shape if my team doesn't steamroll the other side constantly. Hopeless situations generally end really quick anyway so you might as well collect a few medals and commendations. I've been in plenty of warzones where half the team (usually the premade half) is sitting in the middle of the map farming medals while someone manages to score on us. The premade quits and with the pug replacements we still have a pretty good shot at turning the game around. There should be a penalty for leaving a warzone early and a "you can't queue for 15 minutes" seems appropriate. Right now there really isn't any reason to try. Just drop and re-queue and hope you get a group that steamrolls the other side.
  7. Pretty much skip them until I've got 3-4 levels on them then go back and two man them with a guildy thats close to appropriate level.
  8. I'd probably just play through the game once to level cap and then play something else if game designers thought like you did. Thankfully Bioware actually understands there is a need for it: Just sayin'
  9. None of your reasons really are true though. Every patch with balance changes people were constantly changing their builds. I'd say I probably spent over 6000 gold on respecs long before they added dual spec in. Want to PVP? Time to swap! Oh I'm needed for a raid! Guess I'll go re-spec! Oh we're short a healer, I guess I'll go re-spec! I literally would find myself changing specs 3 times a day from one build to another build. A player being unwilling to play because he's tired of spending money moving talent points around and re-arranging hotbars is a bad thing for the game. Dual spec or lack thereof won't make people cancel; but if you can't find a group because of a shortage of role X then you might stop playing the game outright.
  10. Premade vs premade is pretty much the norm in warcraft. If you're playing with friends and coordinating, why not have a challenging match where you're playing against another team of coordinated friends?
  11. I did it at even level (31 or 32ish?) and interrupted something (maybe thundering blast? or was that the later fellow?) and in between jolt cooldowns I'd use my knockback or low slash. Right as Khem was running low on health I popped my 20 minute cooldown for a second electrocute. If things started looking bad I'd low slash and line of site and pop a medpack. I'm pretty sure Khem died at some point but so did Zash. It's been a few weeks but I know its certainly possible to solo Zash as an even level deception build. edit: To the guy above me, agree strongly. I actually end up burning my commendations for a planet on companion gear. Also don't forget they generally don't come with an earpiece, implants and a helm.
  12. A bunch of players scratching their head trying to figure out what it means? In the one game I know that has it; its technically an optional feature. You don't have to use it at all and there are plenty of people who basically have a PVP and PVE version of the same build. Some people want to play a healer but prefer to use damage to do solo content. No reason to limit these people and it's not going to impact the difficulty of the game beyond saving a little time and money.
  13. Actually since money is so easy to come by what will actually happen is the offtank will run off to re-spec for the content and then swap back when needed. There is really no reason to not offer dual spec. If you think its going to make your game too "easy" then feel free not to use the feature. That said, a lack of dual spec isn't going to prevent people from having strategy guides or tankspot like videos on how to down content. You're deluding yourself if you think otherwise. A game's challenge should come from fight mechanics and actual challenges, it shouldn't be strictly from dealing with out-dated game rules or kludgey interface decisions.
  14. Sure there is! A jukebox token is 100 credits so when someone pays you 60 credits to save their kid or go kill someone, it's not even enough money to change the song on the jukebox. If we use that as a metric then its probably more realistic that 100 credits is about a dollar so really the OP is lucky if he can afford a can of pepsi with his reward.
  15. I guess its because I don't play in 640x480 on a 14 inch monitor? I dunno; my character is in the middle of the screen and my buff bar is way down on the bottom of the screen away from the action. I guess good for you that you can see everything going on with the screen. I guess I'm handicapped or blind or incapable so maybe I'd like to have some kind of visual cue that something just triggered so I can do something with it. As far as to why it'd be an issue: It's an issue for madness assassins for example because I need to make sure I fire off that raze proc which means I have to chase down some guy and thrash him repeatedly while also watching for his cast bar or any visual indicators that he's done something (it's not worth blowing all your damage cooldowns on someone with guard up while you're taunted off to another target.) It becomes a problem because proc based builds are balanced around the idea that they pretty much use procs as they come. Skill shouldn't come from how quickly you can find information, but more from what you do with said information. When I heal for example I unlock my raid frames and move them closer to the center of the screen. That way I can keep an eye on health bars while still contributing in other ways to a given warzone/flashpoint.
  16. Khem is largely worthless in a lot of the class quests. I actually kept artifice leveled ahead of myself and kept my mods pretty much up to date with advanced versions when possible. I also play for minimal downtime and I found that Khem wasn't very effective for that sort of thing compared to having Talos out.. With Talos and cycling CC's through each pull (doesn't take long to re-stealth/sap and then shock/kill my way through pulls) I pretty much never stop to seethe unless I pull something extra. That said I'm not complaining at all. Having to do more than cycle through a damage rotation was quite engaging and entertaining. If you play right you can generally solo elites 2 levels above you without much trouble.
  17. How would me having a dual spec option impact your enjoyment of the game? Why should I stand around for 45 minutes trying to track down a healer to play a game when I can swap specs and do it immediately?
  18. It's awesome ignoring everything on the screen so I can focus on a series of tiny icons that are popping up! So much fun I tell you! Yeah, watching for procs isn't hard but staring at your buffs to find them is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
  19. I played deception to 50 and found that as I got up to ~40 or so and things were even level that I had to put more thought into how I killed things. I found myself kiting things more frequently and cycling through CC abilities. On some of the fights I found I had to interrupt just the right thing and make sure I paid attention to everything that was going on. I abused force cloak constantly and generally started every pull with at least 1 mob CC'd and I'd shock and kill my way through the weaker stuff. I'd pretty much assumed everyone was going to see something similar. Of course then I made some alts and found that as a bounty hunter the game feels much easier and much more forgiving. I kind of feel like the assassin difficulty is probably closer to correct and other classes just have it easy.
  20. If the developers don't want players swapping back and forth then they'd need to design content that doesn't require tanks and healers to be around so you can go through it. Since that'd probably make for a trivially easy game maybe they should put a cap on re-spec costs and add a decay.. or maybe add the option to dual spec.
  21. I'm waiting 10 to 15 minutes on average for a queue at 50 but I'm actually having fun in wargames again. It seems people on my server have gone back to objective based PVP instead of farming kills in the middle of a map. I actually saw people communicating today! Ilum however is a disaster that I'm only surprised that Bioware seems surprised at what happened. I don't think I've ever seen less than 10 imperial players near an Ilum objective for every republic player. Granted I'm one of the 10 but the population issues need to be sorted long before Ilum could ever hope to be fun.
  22. If I'm paying for an entertainment product that isn't currently entertaining me then I shouldn't continue to pay for it. If I did then there's little motivation for the provider of said product to make it better. I haven't canned my subscription yet because I still have a bounty hunter and imperial agent story to go through; and I suspect I'll probably go through at least 1 republic story (just to know how all these planets pan out for them.) If at any point I cease to be entertained though I'm not going to keep paying for it. That said, the game isn't without a few pretty huge and annoying bugs and some outdated grindy mechanics in a few areas but I suppose thats a topic for another thread. Mentioning any flaws just brings out all the white knights to Bioware's defense.
  23. The good thing about a PVP stat is it means that PVE raiders won't steamroll players in PVP. The problem with a difficult/gated process to obtain said PVP stat is of course that people with more time will always have an advantage regardless of actual skill level. It serves a purpose but having PVP gear be the carrot means you're always going to have to deal with expertise. Basically without a PVP stat; high end raid gear (which requires you be 50 anyway) will be filling in the war zones. With a PVP stat, players who can grind more will always have an advantage. Price of being a gear based MMO.
