I have come back after two years, I used to play PT in pvp and had a good time with it. This time around I am mostly pve tanking, but would like to get into some level 60 PVP again. As there isnt dual spec and I will be doing pve and pvp every night I play, I really dont want to keep swapping spec. So, how useful is tank spec with DPS gear? Does this work out? Ive been reading its OP but not sure if joking? WHich dps gear works for this? If this is not a good idea, then I guess I will go AP, but which gear set is best? Im reading a lot of numbers and % which is a little confusing right now, at this stage I just need to get a good start. Thanks!

Hi, I have started grinding gear and I am a little unsure about which armour stats to concentrate on and would like a little advice from you wonderful Powertechians. Currently, I have a pyro build with some rail shot bonuses from other trees. I am getting the armour with crit right now. I do like to guard people and wear a shield offhand. I am thinking about going either full tank tree or a mix of tank with another tree like the CP build. Which armour would be best suited for this? Crit or defense? I dont want to go and get all the armor and find out a crit suit is not going to work out with a tank build. One think I keep thinking is, to really play a powertech to its full potential is to build an indestructible (well, takes ages to to take down) tank rather than try to be a DPSer. This is just my personal feeling of course, it just feels right to go tank and look after others in PVP. Thanks

I find the new cooldown effect confusing. My favourite was the beta version. I strictly use keys, never mouse click but I do look at the skill bar.

Don't worry OP, most of these neckbeards have no idea about maths one way or the other. They're just going along with the theme of the replies. One guy even uses a line from Anchorman to back up his percentage argument. I get your point though. What I try to do is stick with the group, work together to complete the objective and look for backup when you can. I know eventually I'll get all my gear and it will all work out. Just don't rage right now, it's uneven. Soon it won't be again.

I remember shortly after Aion was released they added a plastic surgeon npc. When you spoke to her, all she did was send you back into the original new character creation screen as if you were making your character for the first time where you could edit everything again. I think just adding this would be more simple than a dedicated barber shop. Just pop an npc in the cantina.

I agree totally. I am finding in pve, when I am fighting an Elite or Champion, I concentrate 99% on the abilities so I can pop them at exactly the right time. So for pvp, I have to use the abilities at the right time. Put this with my constant movement and an unpredictable player, it's making me consider playing a different class. I would rather there were no macros or add-ons. I like the game as it is. But, with this class, it would help, if only to see more of the animations and all the rest while you're fighting. It's not about playing better, its about seeing more of the fun stuff.
