  1. TL;DR: I am a returning highly skilled player with a lot of experience at all roles and am a quick learner for what I've missed since being gone. I'm looking for a solid guild (preferrably Pub, but if an Imp guild stands out as better...) in which to raid #1, but also to have other options such as PvP and this whole conquest and flagship stuff that I have missed (thought if I like the group enough, I would be willing to forego that). I'm looking for skilled players who don't struggle with content (except for Ravagers and ToS, I assume), who yet stay light-hearted and have fun. You MUST have voice chat and regularly use it. Parsing is a given. I'm a really nice 27-year-old guy who doesn't complain or blame. I'm available most nights anywhere from, but not limited to, 5pm-3am EST (can't play this much every night obviously, but these are the times I could set aside for planned things). Please reply here or PM if interested. For those who have time, read below. My story: I recently returned to this game a couple months ago. I took this game very seriously from launch. I was main healer (Sorc named Valaar) in what was considered the 2nd best PvE guild on The Constant called "Move Along". I had a great time with Index, Kbot, Ashardasican, and all those guys. We got server 2nd on Soa, Karagga (sense a theme here? Lithium I believe got first), and got the less-than-2-hour titles for NM. I felt like doing some PvP, so I made a Shadow on Fatman (at the time the most popular PvP server). I made it into one of the best guilds on the server, "Fight", with whom I did lots of pre-made warzones and world pvp with. I did this on the side while maintaining my activity with the guild "Move Along". The Constant merged of course (was it Canderous Ordo first and then Jedi Covenant? I don't remember) and we continued for a while until we all just kind of faded out for a bit after EC. I came back after a short break and the guild was defunct. I, with Kbot, joined "Hail Skroob" which I think had a pretty good reputation for raiding. I was the 2nd team's (Mel's) main tank (Jugg named Rufio) and roamed dps (Op named Mentat) on multiple groups. With this 2nd team we cleared NM TFB, HM SnV (don't remember if we got NM SnV when I played with them) and of course the rest. I kept up this heavy raiding schedule for months up until 2.4 (Dread War). At this point, I quit for lack of time and starting a new job. From 2014-2015, I was mostly absent from the game, other than off-and-on leveling and completing the story of a Merc and a Vanguard. I got the itch to play as the new Star Wars movie was nearing release, but wanted to wait until after the movie came out. I started back playing in mid-late December along with some casual friends. And fast-forward to my situation now: I am a highly skilled player at just about every aspect of the game, all roles. I am focusing on my Scoundrel DPS at the moment so would prefer to do that. I have all max crafting abilities. I have mostly 216 gear on my Scoundrel on legacy gear, of course. I considered trying to go back to Hail Skroob, but it seems they have recently left for WoW. I also want to clarify that I am humble, my "highly skilled" statement is just to differentiate myself from the rabble. I'm a really nice 27-year-old guy who doesn't complain or blame. I'm available most nights anywhere from, but not limited to, 5pm-3am EST (can't play this much every night obviously, but these are the times I could set aside for planned things). 2. Yeah, I also had trouble getting a group for this recently. The reasoning is that it's probably the longest HM FP (unless you skip a lot of things, don't do the bonus, and have stealth), and the only good HM drop is the off-hand Columi from Serevin (which is very low on the list of desirable eq for every class other than dps operative/scoundrel), so it's viewed as the least worthwhile instance. Also, the second-to-last boss has a mechanic that a lot of people don't like dealing with (though he can be skipped if you have a stealther), which is what makes this a "hard" FP.
  3. This is exactly what I think. I find it funny how people think it takes skill to do well in MMO PvP warzones where huge gear differences are allowed. The gear imbalance decides who wins. The only way MMO PvP can ever be considered skill-based is when everyone has the same gear. Competitions are handled this way because it's obviously the answer. I understand that some people who don't actually like the game as much as they think they do need something to work towards, like achieving better gear. And I want these people to keep playing this game. Perhaps what Bioware should do is this: Change "Bolster" to where it will bring everyone's stats in a warzone to set point-values that can't be changed, no matter the gear, but still have gear to work towards for aesthetic and/or World-PvP value. Perhaps Ranked Warzones would omit this "Bolster" effect completely (or could leave "Bolster" similar to how it is now in 1.2), because Ranked Warzones should be populated by the the higher tier hardcore PvPers, adding more reason for elite/hardcore PvPers to work towards them in order to become known. I guess this would essentially turn into a social versus ranked Halo-like situation. Casual PvPers have no fun playing against Hardcore PvPers who insanely outgear them, and casual players don't care about being ranked either. Or how about how new players get destroyed by highly geared vets without even being given a chance. Shouldn't we want these new players to have a less-threatening equal environment that may entice them to want to build up their gear and maybe eventually turn into a hardcore PvPer by showing them that SWTOR takes skill, not just gear (if it in fact does take skill, I'm not so sure)? The alluring quality of a multiplayer game clearly showing that it takes skill is highly overlooked by a lot of game developers, but it creates long-time, loyal players. So why not have the standard, or "social", PvP warzones make everyone equal, and have ranked warzones be for the hardcore PvPers? This probably won't happen. And I suppose once ranked warzones are introduced, it will have a similar result to what I just said, but I still think they might as well go all the way with the ranked vs. unranked separation. What do you guys think?
