No, this is a welcomed fix for PVPers. Only carebears that get by on gear in PVP will be affected.
Looking forward to when this is implemented.
-
Great news about the lessening of gear importance with PVP. It will breathe life into PVP for players that have reached 50 and tire of getting 3 shotted by gear whores. Skill should always be the primary factor in PVP, and it's good to see you're adhering to that.
Ignore the coming QQ threads about people who like having gear win battles for them.
The focus on player economy and crafting professions is also welcome.
My suggestion for future PVP content: focus on Open World PVP (and I don't consider Ilum OPEN world).
-
Sounds good. I doubt it will even be looked at, much less implemented, but you have my support. Not in total agreement with everything, of course, but it would be a very large step up from how things are currently.

Hehe Bioware managed to piss off all parts of their player-base now
No, just the vocal minority of carebears parading around, falsely, as PVPers.
-
Np, as long as I can get the same PvE gear YOU GET (by PvE), by not PvEing, but by PvPing.
That's the point. I don't care if expertise is removed... but then BM should become exactly the same with the best PvE gear in game. Then it's the PvErs that would cry.
I should not be forced to PvE (in order to PvP), when I find it pointless, not a challenge and boring. That's the point, do you get it now?
They will be making most gear moddable (meaning taking and placing) before long. Will make more crafting professions viable besides cybertech and biochem. Making expertise mean less does not make PVE gear better. PVE gear won't make you crit for 7k.

What if I have to go take a ****? I need to be penalized for not going afk in a warzone, and instead leaving?
You people complain about the most retarded things. You get rewarded win or lose anyway. Such babies this generation.
-
'cause ilum is such good pvp lol.
LOL. Do you read?
Ignore +1

Stop copying and pasting the same threads over and over. There should have never been any PVP gear to begin with. PVP is about skill, not gear.
-
They are lowering gear's effects on PVP. PVP will now be more about skill. Enough fear mongering.
-
Oh, and stop acting like this is gonna kill PVP. It will help it greatly, and people will actually participate in PVP past 50 instead of rerolling.
-
As said in another thread, this is great news for real PVPers. PVP is, and always should be, about skill first.
-
Great news for real PVPers. Too bad for the gear whoring e-sporters, though. Thanks for alerting me to this good news.

please explain how open world pvp will *NOT* turn into 50 imps vs 10 repubs all day long?
Please explain why I, as a PvPer, not a carebear, should care. Go back to WOW and continue playing hand-holding training-wheels-PVP there.
-
No.
No more instanced ****. Open world PVP (not Ilum or anything resembling it) needs to be the focus from now on.

Ilum is a carebear's paradise. There is no non-consensual risk involved and it gives rewards.
-
SWG
Best MMO ever made, and outlasted WOW.
-
Why should someone be penalized for leaving a game full of afkers or otherwise crappy teammates? It's a waste of everyone's time, and nobody has a lot of it to begin with.
Fail thread.
-
...IDK i smell a imp zerg fest...
I haven't seen population issues anywhere other than Ilum. This will scatter the population out away from Ilum and reduce the issue that much further.

Agreed, as long as people simply can't attack people who are 10 levels below them. I can see massive gank squads of level 50s going to places like Tat and Ald and ganking the crap out of people who are just trying to level.
Did you not see this?
To all who may post, leave your ganking/camping/griefing complaints to yourself. On a PVP server, those things should be allowed and encouraged, else there be no difference between PVE and PVP servers. Also, that's what guilds are for. Ganks turn into guild wars.

Thread still hasn't been noticed, eh?

First of all if you knew ANYTHING about how MMO's progress you should know that in the first few months bugs are a common sight, end game isn't really there, and new content doesn't come for a while (except in this case a month after launch which is damn good)
But what I find most hilarious is how you completely missed the point I made. ITS NOT A SANDBOX.
This game isn't for you and never will be.
Never said anything about bugs. As for the content progression over time, see that's where sandboxes are superior. Players don't have to rely on devs to GIVE them content, the players make the content themselves, and it is usually much more enjoyable.
So the newly 50's expect to be treated like royalty because?

Fixed.
This is what actual PVPers want. Skill should determine battles' outcomes, not gear.
