  1. they didn't make SWG. they made warhammer. youd imagine they would have learned EVEN MORE from that **** show...but nope

Well, the point was that SWG was diffferent. It was sandbox, and a lot of its features were unique and fresh, even to this day. Lucasarts owned the rights to it, even if SOE developed it. It was there waiting for them if they wanted it, but they cast it aside and focused on the popular and old *** moneymaker that most of us hate.

SWG had a lot of things wrong, but a whole lot right. The press and critics only focused on the wrong, but Bioware could have taken what was right and made something better from it instead of another WOW clone.

Had SWG had a good dev team and not destroyed itself two years after its launch, we'd all be playing it still instead of this pathetic thing.

  2. No, people leave because there is no point in taking part in PVP other than gear. That game has already been played before, and it's old.

People want meaningful PVP to take place where taking positions and areas mean something and the battlefield changes based on outcomes of fights. Adding in minigame rankings is not this. Minigames are not PVP, they are e-sport competitions and are better left to first person shooters and arcades.

The whole genre of MMORPGs is suffering from this, but SWTOR and Bioware dropped the ball by following instead of leading. We already have enough WOW clones. SWG was ripe for the taking. They could have used the knowledge from that old MMO and forged something better from it instead of copying something safe like WOW.

Themeparks are just an awful design for MMOs. "Blah, blah, blah, numbers!" Call of Duty has numbers. That doesn't make it a "good" game.

  3. Merc Pyrotech is laughably underpowered in 50 brackets compared to other specs.

Grinding up the lower levels was fun and I was on even footing with other classes most of the time. Not so in 50 brackets.

The most problems come from bubble blowers and hamburglars. They just will not die. I don't have any problems with heat, but my attacks don't get them past 50% before they just heal it all back up or stealth away and come back and kill me in 3 hits.

Merc Pyrotech needs an interrupt somewhere high up in the tree, desperately.

  4. Stop whining about it. Go pvp on ilum if ur so mad about warzones

Ilum is a pile of shlt.

PVPers want real Open World PVP, not some empty battlefield where people swap kills for gear.

  5. Something has to be done soon, something other than warzones. Something that has meaning. Ilum in its current state has as much meaning as warzones.

Patch 1.2 better be the most awesome thing Bioware has ever done, or a lot are going to give up completely. Rated warzones ain't gonna cut it. There better be a huge surprise in there for World PVP.

  6. You mean these changes?

    No, these changes:

As part of this effort, specifically for PvP, we are also working on changes that will reduce the gear related power difference between new characters at level 50 and players in full PvP gear. We feel that at the current time, this difference is too high.
  7. > Make game with gear grind

    > Make Gear not matter.

    >Wut

    Lucasarts strategy:

    >Make amazing sandbox MMO with freeform classes that mix and match.

    >Destroy said MMO with "new game enhancements", alienate current subscription base, search for WOWtard casuals.

    >Create new WOW-in-space MMO.

    >Shut down old MMO, alienating old subscription base further.

    >Re-do new MMO to make like old destroyed one, alienating new subscription base, restoring faith in old base.

    >Nostalgia from old base causes profits to soar.

    >New, redone MMO kills competition, new subscription base whines on forums.

    >trollface

  8. Maybe, but if it turns out they nerf it so hard that PvE gear is better (It already is better to be in half PvE anyway), then what's the point of even having a system where you get rewarded with gear with PvP.

Bioware should just straight up tell us. If you want to be competitive in PvP, you must do high end PvE. The only use for your commendations is to stock up on expertise and healing potions

    First off:

    E-sports = competition.

PVP = killing players / WAR.

Secondly, PVP gear should never have been implemented in the first place. There should have been world bases and such placed on every world past the capital planets and owning those bases should have rewarded rare, one-time-use consumables, increasing in quality over the time it has been owned by a faction. Then there is a purpose to PVP constantly, and out in the open world instead of in warzones and Ilum.

  9. I am a newly minted 50. I pvp'd a fair bit through all levels. Even when 50s were pvping with the rest of the levels.

I had no issue with 50s in battlemaster before the bracket.

I have no issue with 50s in battlemaster now.

This game is catering to carebears. I do not like the road that is being traveled here.

When I want to pvp, I want it to be rough.

I want it to make me better.

G.T.F.O. of warzones and get out into the open world (Ilum is not Open World) if you want actual REAL "rough" PVP. Otherwise, S.T.F.U.

Carebears are the ones whining about this change. PVPers welcome it.
