  1.   Good morning or good evening to everyone! Been playing this game from a long long while was original beta tester. Been rank 1 vg/pt and multiply gold holder on multiple toons. Now that does not matter. As battle record current arena 75% win rate and WZs 90% win rate across the toons. So what I'm trying to say I know thing or two about PvP.

      I'm going to list only broken abilities/specs/items aka tacticals in game. Please let me know if I'm wrong but most people would agree with me who actually know what they are doing and PvP and high skill level.

    1. Since I play that class often. VG/PT - I do not have problem with vg dmg and actually survivability became just a little better but just a little compare to old days. However tactical "Neural Trigger" has to be removed from the game or make it at very least proc only every 30 sec and fill 3x more resolve compare to how small it fills resolve and 15 sec. For people who has no clue what that tactical does: VG/PTs single target stun on 15 sec cd is removed by any dmg of yours and target get stunned for 2 sec. If you stack 2 or 3 pts = death to anyone and they do not have even fighting chance.

    2. Madness/Balance sorc/sage self heals is way too too tuned. I do not have problem with dmg on madness sorcs even many many people would agree its broken atm. However, I do have problem with their selfheal's.  It has to be reduced.

    3. Jugg/Guardian tank dmg in pvp way too high to be exactly is guardian slash/crushing blow ability hits for over 90k crits very very often in pvp and with self heals and endless dcds, we do have problem. I believe if you chose to play tank in pvp which I do play it too I should not be doing more than 50k crits. Plus taunt self heals becomes very very unkillable raid boss.

    4. Gunslinger/sniper  Saboteur/engineering spec -  with already spammble no cd AOE 50% slow which does decent dmg explosive probe can hit 140k+ on very very consistent basis. If you combine 2+ engi snipers  on one target with 35 meters 2 sec stun which does not fill a lot of resolve become very impossible and practically no chance fighting against. Tactical TO-RO Ionic discharge which give 50% crit dmg to explosive probe has to be tuned down to very least 25% crit dmg to explosive probe. Incendiary grenade has to be at least 5 sec cd. 

      Full disclose I play every single class but classes I listed above I play a little more. I mean who does not like OP/BROKEN specs/class/items. 

      BW needs to fix that because its getting out of control. 7.2 is the worst PvP balance patch I've seen or very close to one of the worst.

    BW FIX your stuff!

I had hoped that the change to allow loses to progress the PvP daily and weekly missions would expedite the rate of gear progression possible through PvP, but the 999 weekly cap on the WZ-1 accelerant gear currency makes it feel as though one limitation has simply been traded for another. The time investment is lessened, sure, but now there is simply nothing else that can be done to buy/upgrade PvP gear once the weekly cap has been reached, which can be done on literally 3 characters. Gearing under the new changes seems to feel, for me at least, to be more or less the same pace as before, which is disappointing as it feels a bit slow to me. Am I alone in this?

     

    I understand the obvious solution is to just swap one complete set of gear between alts, since they are all legacy bound gear pieces now, but I would still rather have a full set for each character, if for no other reason than convenience (I appreciate the loadout system for this very reason). Also, since we can't min/max with mods now, you kinda need to accumulate several gear sets to achieve optimal stat distributions (e.g. some classes need less alacrity for the 1.4s GCD, some do not need accuracy, etc), even if you intend to swap gear sets between alts.

     

    Does anyone else think the weekly cap should be raised a little? Perhaps even just to somewhere around 1500?

    You are actually not alone man. Would love for them to increase the cap. I play casually but I have full set of 326 gear for all toons. All I did is pvp with some occasional pve just for fun and boredom.

    I'm ok if they increase the cap or leave it the same...

    But I farmed for all my toons gear so I will not have to switch through legacy because I'm lazy ... and I prefer log in and do not have to worry about switching gear or remember which toon I left on since I play a lot of different alts...

  3. Enough is enough! This is getting ridiculous.

     

    Bioware has been buffing mobility since 3.0. Snipers have gotten roll, holotraverse, countermeasures speed, entrench speed. Mara predation was buffed from 25% to 50%. Pt's hydrolics got buffed. Lightning sorc's force speed CD was reduced, every heal now gives them increased speed, certain abilities give them increased speed..... holotraverse...

     

    To fix this Bioware is now buffing the amount of slows and roots in the game. Pts got a 90% slow on shatterslug. Sorcs slow and root you to 90% every time they cast chain lighting. They even created tacticals that spread slow and give two charges to slows.

     

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

     

    The game can't handle all this movement change. Every time a mara predations my FPS drops 20 frames, and everyone starts dsyncing. Every time a sorc chain lightnings he disappears. Every time an operative rolls he dsyncs.

     

    You buffed movement too much. You can not fix that by implementing more slows, like you have done. Instead just nerf the movement abilities or take them out of the game. As an operative I am either eternally rooted, eternally slowed, or rolling. As a PT if I am not moving with speed hacks on (hyrdolic overirdes), I am moving at 20% speed. I am either all over my target, or no where near my target. There is no in between anymore. THIS IS DUMB. ITS MAKING THE GAME UNPLAYABLE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

    Nerf OP concealment roll Immunity or nerf their set bonus with 2x 4 sec stuns and -2 sec on roll cd.

    Nerf guardian tank with grit teeth and force bound.

    Notice I do not include whole class I include specs.

    OP concealment roll Immunity is broken and we all know that!

    Guardian Tank has way too much dmg with amount of CCs and survivability they have.

    They need to fix these then we talk about rest of classes and their movement speeds/escapes and so on.

  4. 6 set bonus for Veteran Ranger (Vanguard/Powertech set bonus for shoulder cannon) additional rocket proc does not proc shield cannon for PTs and guard cannon for VGs (shield cannon and guard cannon - proficiency for VGs and PTs heals for 3% for each shoulder cannon).

    So it pretty much Veteran Ranger 6 set bonus 75% chance to proc additional shoulder cannon does not proc heal from guard cannon.

    If you can please look into it. Much appreciated 👍.

    Set Bonus:

    (2) +2% Mastery

    (4) Ion Wave makes all targets Vulnerable to Shoulder Cannon for 5 seconds. While Shoulder Cannon loads missiles you restore 2 heat per second.

    (6) Each Shoulder Cannon rocket has a 75% chance to trigger an additional rocket.

     

    What I am wondering is if shoulder cannon rocket procs can further proc off themselves. For example, if you only fire one missile could the set bonus daisy chain a bunch more automatically or is it the one missile you fire only has a one time 75% chance to proc? The former would actually be really good while the latter would make the set trash.

     

    I don't want to invest all the effort into the set just to find out it's garbage.

     

    Hello everyone! Warning it's about to be a biggest disappointed ever I had in SWTOR.

    4 set bonus veteran ranger set gives you around 20% dmg on shoulder cannon for 6 sec. CD is 18 sec. Makes it completely useless 4 set in pvp due to other classes can resist or ion wave/searing wave. Range dps if you do not use your CC's can out range once animation of ion wave take place. Bottom line it's one of the most useless set bonuses for pvp.

    6 set bonus. No it's does not Daisy chain off proc. Checked it many many times. Max it can do 14 rockets. And one more thing. Talent heal for rocket. HEAL does not proc off additional rockets. Only 7 rockets will heal you if you AP/Tactics spec.

    Bottom line - one of the most useless set bonuses for pvp in general...

  7. Thanks for replying. The 4pc bonus debuff sounds terrible. Shoulder cannon has a 1.5min cooldown and you need to deal your damage within the 5 seconds the debuff is up. You couldn't fire all your rockets in that window. You'd have to wait until you could ion wave again to fire the rest.

     

    Meteor brawler completely overshadows the set with it's 4pc bonus of 10% damage for 15sec every 30 sec.

     

    Would be interested to find out if rockets daisy chain and/or if rockets turn into an AOE once multiple targets get debuffed by ion wave. It would seem dumb to spread the debuff with ion wave but still keep rockets as single target only.

     

    UPDATE. I have one last piece to get... I'll try update you guys as soon as I get last piece. Sorry do not play as often.

    I have 4 set bonus piece now i checked its about 20% dmg to shoulder cannon increase during debuff on target.

    Sucks debuff last 6 sec but cd on ion wave or searing wave is 18 sec.

    when it comes to 6 set bonus piece I'm not sure yet but I do not think they proc of each other. That will be OP cus since its 75%; it can be endless shoulder canon, if u think that way.

    However since its 7 shoulder cannons for AP. I'm thinking its 14 rockets max u can be unleashed.

    A little theory crafting Ideal situation.... I know what u gonna say... there is not ideal situation. Anyway with relics proc and debuff on target from 4 set bonus rocket can crit up to 10k on average. In pvp if u speced in shoulder cannon heals u it can heal up to 42% of your max health. Which is not bad at all.

  9. Hopefully they add a H2F, a reflect, an innate damage reduction when stunned for all PTs, and a buff to HO making it last 30 seconds with a cooldown of 30 secs. They need to have a constant speed boost imo.

     

    Only then they will be able to compete with all the other classes.

     

    It's time for PTs to be the new apex DPS on swtor.

    Hey man, I do not want all that... It's too much but take from Merc shield heal and give to PT dps would be amazing... That's all I'm asking!

  10. PT overall: It's supposed to be the glass cannon, isn't it? Still, their damage output does not vary that much from any other spec.

     

    PT tanks strength was the insane aoe cleave, since it got nerfed, who cares about stacking into a PT tank cleave.

    Solo ranked: Try to tunnel a jug tank first, secondly tunnel a sin tank. Finally, tunnel a pt tank. You'll get its state of defensives.

     

    PT dps is shut down by slows and kept on distance (as the only way to get your enemy close to yourself is hydraulic overload and pulling. Grapple (the pull) can be avoided by so many ways by any class and spec. So there's only hydraulic overload left, with a 45 / 35 second cool down.)

     

    If you let a PT freecast, I agree, its dps is gonna be the most, compared to other dps specs, and it's gonna be a "wrecking ball".

     

    I've been playing PT (pyrotech primarily, sometimes advanced prototype or shield tech) for the last ~9 months (both solo and team ranked) excessively, and I can admit, it can get insane dps. Advanced prototype can get 7k and even more if you let him freecast, pyrotech can get 7-9k in a proper stack, tanks got 10k in a stack before they got nerfed to hell, now (not sure) they get somewhat 5-7k?

     

    In the following wall of text I'm going to rely on team ranked mostly.

     

    The (first) point is: The lack of DCDs is going to nullify the PowerTechs damage if you're under focus with stuns / slows. For an example: Team ranked, pyrotech in your team, sniper (who knows how to play, xemirr, asana, who ever) in enemies team. You're not going to hit 4k dps (maybe sometimes, if the healer stacks). If the sniper is supposed and actually sits on you, you're not going to be able to stick to the enemies heal (or ranged damage dealer), in both dps specs.

     

    I could give a lot of comparisons / examples: Marauder outdpsing the powertech, snipers outdpsing the powertech, mercs outdpsing the powertech, even sorcerers outdpsing the powertech. This is not because the powertech is a "bad" and the other dd is a "good" player. I won't list all the specific reasons (in my opinion) why these situations happen, here are just the cases.

     

    I am a huge friend of PowerTechs, all of their specs (though i probably dislike the spec shield tech a bit), I enjoy playing the class in both unranked and ranked (solo & team). By the way, I know, Bioware is not going to read this post anyway.

     

    Considdering solo ranked.

     

    4 damage dealer:

    - you are going to keep back or not, get in, probably try to kite or do damage, and die

    - the only chance is if you got some decent players who know how to support you

    - anyway, your team would definitely win more easily with any other class beside powertech

     

    3 damage dealer, 1 tank:

    - it's pretty fun sometimes, personally, I prefer this setup over 3 damage dealer, 1 heal games

    - you can definitely get a lot of damage, unless your tank doesn't know how to guard you

    - as you (or in my own experience considdering this case) get focussed in 80% of the matches, if you get taunted + stunned and enemies got 3 ranged damage dealer (mercs, sniper, sorc) (wow, sorc as well!), you won't do any dps there and die pretty fast

    - If you got some offhealing classes, you'll be able to survive a bit longer and win the match

    - these points have been pretty much positive to the powertechs state, but still, it sucks in solo ranked

     

    3 damage dealer, 1 heal:

    - unless you got some nice other damage dealer who you can offguard each other with, you'll die fast, even if you avoid doing damage and concentrate on kiting away

    - if you don't get focussed, you are going to do pretty well, but this rarely happens

     

    Finally: 2 damage dealer, 1 heal, 1 tank:

    - it's fun to play, like in team ranked

    - you'll do pretty well, it's fun, but still, compared to other damage dealer specs, you lack of defensive cooldowns

     

    Regular warzones, unranked.

     

    It's boring in my honest opinion to play unranked at all, but when you decide to queue up: You can do most damage almost all games, because people in this PvP mode suck, overall, unless you face skilled players. You'll get most damage even by running in, dpsing, dying after 15 sec and being the hero of most deaths (10? 15?) in the warzone. As I said, people in unranked suck. That's my opinion.

     

    Whatever, if you (considdering you are not an unskilled weakling) play any other class, you'll get same or more damage, because you'll have less deaths, more uptime of dpsing. Furthermore, everyone knows how weak powertechs are, and you'll get focussed to hell.

     

    More information out of my mind.

     

    PowerTechs lack defensive cooldowns, compared to other damage dealer specs. Whatever, I do NOT support buffing the class in defensive cooldowns. In my opinion, all other classes should be nerfed to hell. That's all which needs to be done. Damage dealers are supposed to die. Not after getting 400k damage with base maximum hitpoints of 130k, they are supposed to die with 180k, maybe more or less. Defensive cooldowns need to be used well and timed properly.

     

    This was the most important point of my post here, I guess.

     

    To be honest, I've lost the point why I was writing this. Whatever, here are some of my thoughts. I will probably add more stuff with further posts to complete my (maybe unclear) guesses and statements.

     

    TL;DR: I am not sure what to write here, maybe I'll add something later on.

  11. I am hunting the same headgear you're after, I've open around 100 crates in the past two days and nothing so far. I honestly think the devs need to create vendors where you can purchase whichever piece of gear you want for the tokens. Such tokens are guaranteed to drop from crates. Let's say Remnant Resurrected Agent Headgear will cost in the range of 20s or 30s, meaning you have to either farm that exact amount or get lucky on the drop along the way. Otherwise, where is the guarantee that next 100 crates will have a drop on the exact item you want especially when number sets are high in the single crate. I've honestly had better luck with cartel crates. :mad::mad::mad:
  12. The changes they did accidentally made the spec flow beautifully. I don't know how to describe it other than it feels like it "rhymes." The cooldowns don't intersect and it's possible to create an actually perfect rotation unlike before. It hasn't been like this since late 2.0.

     

    I agree the rotation flows perfectly, all I want from the developers is to change the animation of Ravage specifically.

    Blade barrage instead is amazing, unlike Ravage, it looks like a failed attempt made on front flip!!!

  13. I'd like to hear about the "way bigger issues" that you think exist. AP PT is easily the 1st issue to tackle. Every spec in the game except leth/concealment operative, pyrotech vanguard, and merc healer can be successful if played to a high level in 4s. But right now it's difficult to rationalize taking other classes over a vanguard.

     

    For all the whining about sorcs on this forum, I don't see them on the same level as AP PTs.

     

    and yet everyone forgetting what MM snipers can do right now.... should start because if I do it will get ugly and AP pt

    will look like an average spec compare to MM sniper....

     

    And yet every person who play AP pt can do dmg... its true but pt AP its not all about dmg. Its about burst and burst in time where ive yet to see proper burst on AP pt... every other ap pt who do dmg pulling big numbers but **** does not die... = bads playing class just to do easy dmg this goes to 4's

     

    And in solo ranked pts are primary target... which dying even through their shield and kolto active and the same time saw that many many many times....

     

    The last thing i have to say is kings of 4s right now are in term of healing is sorc heals, in terms of tanking is sin tank, in terms of dpsing its snipers

     

    solo ranked everything as stated above except dps sniper it will be dps sorcs

     

    P.S. its not a star wars: old republic its a sorc wars: new republic

     

    So all your posts here in pvp forums about ap pts or rage maras or any other class being op is irrelevant.... if u got owned by any class meaning u need to rethink what game u play if u got owned by sorcs and u were doing ok against other classes... but this u need to read above statement....

  14. As you probably have already noticed, there is some randomness when it comes to lvl60 bolster. Some! players get randomly bolstered and get an additional +3.5k-4k hp and 30-100 more bonus dmg out of nowhere with max expertise/ full pvp gear.

     

    Here is what we tested so far:

     

    Sin (A) and Sin (B) both naked!! (this is very important, no gear, no spec, no stim, only class buffs, same legacy perks + all companion buffs) had identical stats in Willpower, Strength and Endurance on the fleet. In the Warzone, Sin (A) completely naked, had roughly 30k hp, the same he had on the fleet, while Sin (B) had 34k hp. So Sin (B) got additional 4k hp through some magical random bolster bug.

     

    Conclusion:

    (1) gear and/or augments have no Impact on the "3.5k+ hp" bolster bug as both sins where naked

    This lead us to believe ----> different datachrons might get bolstered

     

    Next Step:

    (1) Both Sins compared all codex entries.

    (2) Sin (A) spend a few hours and got all datachrons that Sin (B) had

    ----> Both Sins with the same stats across the board and identical Datachrons

    (3) Both joined a WZ again naked, Sin (A) had around 4k hp less than Sin (B)

     

    Conclusion:

    (1) character Sin(B) itself is bugged/broken

    (2) Sin (A) is missing something that Sin (B) has, perhaps an achievement

     

     

    Something that attracted our attention:

    All chars in our guild, that have this bolster bug are old chars and/or transferred ones. All Chars that are missing the extra bolster thingy are realtively new chars ( most of them actually leveled up with the 12xXP) and are not transferred chars.

     

    So we made a list and asked most PvPers we knew off that have the bolster bug.

     

    Conclusion:

    (1) char transfer has probably no impact on the bolster bug ( multiple bugged chars/players could disprove our theory)

    (2) All Chars that have this bug are pretty old chars/mains (we asked arround 15 players) - they "youngest" beeing 1 year old, most of the asked players have their bugged char since almost pre 2.0, some even since release.

     

     

    This leads to ------> older chars seem to have something (achievement/ titel/ bug) that newer once are missing, that causes the bolster to trigger.

     

    If anyone can disprove any of our findings or theories, feel free to post here.

     

    Thank for pointing that out but ONLY one thing my vg I lvled to 55 with is currently 60 beginning of season 1.

    My pt is got to 50 month after GAME LAUNCH! and he hit 55 before season 1 like 2 days later where 2.0 came out.

    AND my vg with exactly has the same datacrons as my pt and my pt with exactly the same stats as my vg þe same valor... And in wzs my vg has 4k HP more than my pt. EXPLAIN that?

    I have explanation to that BW need FIX something on their END!

  15. Tip 1: Dodge only works against melee and ranged attacks. Nearly all of PT damage is tech, therefore dodge does little to nothing against a PT

     

    Tip 2: Roll gives 200% resistance to tech damage, thus you can use a well timed roll to completely mitigate large portions of a PT's burst rotation.

     

    10sec cd on roll and with scrapper every roll 1.5 sec immune to everything when i say to everything its not ONLY including dmg but stuns so out 10 sec scoundrel scrapper against vg/pt has 1.5+1.5= 3 (2 rolls) sec full immunity. Hmm..while hots rolling on him with defense screen and 3 sec dodge against rail shot lol what I forgot to mention VANISH heal to full in arena. I wonder can pt vanish cus I do not remember having that last time I logged on my pt ...

    Oh one last thing if u cannot time your second roll with TD/AP bomb explode = go reroll to a sin 5 sec pure tech/force mitigation

  16. I don't agree with your first paragraph, I win 99% of solo matches on pot5 with a powertech on my team, so your results may vary; that being said, I think you did a great job with the quoted paragraph Yolk.

     

    that's A LIE cus I play on pot5 and on imp side there 2 good pts left and they do not queue very often u winning 99% of the game maybe when the crushers guild switch to imp side... so u winning 99% of the matches is a lie

  17. . To be completely honest, this game isn't nearly as imbalanced as it was previously. This is largely because Bioware has intentionally gone out of their way to dumb down combat mechanics for almost every class.

     

    The largest problem this game faces in regards to such imbalance is that we have a bunch of extremely small pools of players. Something like cross servers or even cross realm tournaments would help to expand the metagame but otherwise we're likely to have situations where players would rather join the established "pack" instead of attempted to go against the flow.

     

    For example-

     

    1) People who play nothing but regs are probably most likely to think that melee(in general) is gimped and that healing is overpowered. I might further expand on this and assume that players in this same category are most likely to flock to classes that excel in aoe/dots. (Since they put up the biggest numbers on the scoreboard)

     

    2) Players that mostly play solo ranked are the most likely to think that healers aren't actually all that crazy. These players are the type that will lean towards classes with easily applied damage and strong defensive cooldowns(or self healing.)

     

    3) People who play group ranked mostly(a dying breed, if it even still exists) are most likely to look at overall utility and even focus on things such as hard swaps, dispels and burst damage.

     

    So, how does Bioware balance classes considering we have 3 extremely different categories players are looking at? I'm not sure, tbh. I just implore our community to realize that you are not often comparing apples to apples.

    I have no clue why people showing this idiotic video, because that sorc was so f bad not even funny... this video feels like a reg star video where you are killing nubs...
