  1. Wow. I bugged this quest, and gave up playing for a couple of weeks because I was just so tired of things not working the way I imagined. Then came back to see my bug report answered "this will be fixed in an upcoming patch"?!! How does that help anyone?? I had exactly the same error when I tried it again today. Much obliged for your answer sir. Much better than any customer service. Now I'm back and playing the game again.
  2. I've seen some people running around with something that looks like a mix between the slave outfit and a bandaged chest. Not sure if it's orange though... And I have no idea where to get it or what it's called.
  3. Oh rly? I thought it was a bit weird that I had to type out the names of all my alts. Even more weird if I have to add them manually to a "friends list" to get that functionality. But good to know that the functionality exists. This too is a bug IMO; alts should be automatically added to a "hidden" friends list for mail composing purposes. And I've seen the "Character does not exist" too. Also, I added someone to my friends list, had them on the list for a while, then they got deleted from friends list (not by me) and I can't add them again (character does not exist) even though it's a guild leader so I know the toon hasn't been deleted.
  4. 2 hours? Took me half an hour to kill the bastard even though I'm lvl 30. My companion was constantly feared, so didn't do anything and then he died. I'm a bit surprised the respawn is as short as 2 hours, should be a rare thing IMO. But it was nice to get an achievement out of it. And cool to fight something that giant.
  5. When you have an alt character that has a completed crew skill mission, that crew skill appears on your other toons as well. Not only that, but if you haven't trained any crew skills, right-clicking a trainer where another toon has a completed mission, you will automatically train that crew skill and won't be able to do anything because it sits at 0/400 and you need at least 1/400 to do anything (but that later thing disappears with a logout/login). However, today I didn't see this happening, so they may have fixed this bug.
  6. Not quite. You can complete any content in sub-par gear. I bet with a bit of training, you could do anything with green items. So you can gimp yourself and hold on to your orange items if you want, but if you want to max your stats you need to embrace the communistic look.
  7. "taking MMO PvP seriously" is not the same as "competitive gaming" to me. In order for it to be a competition, there has to be regularly held tournaments, with winners and hopefully a cash prize. Then some sponsors, live streaming, money rolling in. Lots of people are professional gamers, getting their full income from games. SWTOR is not one of those games AFAIK, and I seriously wonder if it could ever be. I mean... it's an MMO... where's the true competition in that? MMO's are built in a way that makes anyone able to get anything if they put enough time towards it. MMO's are not built in a way that makes the most skilled people win. Therefore, MMO's are not competitive. Huttball could have been made into a competition, with tournaments etc. But as it is now, it's too much reliant on getting the right gear etc, which means you have to grind the game rather than have enough skill. Maybe with a few patches, there could be a huttball competitive scene. Question is, is that what BioWare wants?
  8. Yeah. It's kind of like that. Which is a shame, because the system is there, but they haven't implemented it completely. Real shame.
  9. Competitive SWTOR? Like... professional huttballers? Hmm. I love watching the pros play League of Legends. And even though I don't appreciate it much myself, I know that StarCraft has a big competitive scene. But SWTOR? Is anyone actually talking about this for real?
  10. I wish I had your problem. On PMF I've never been solo playing, not even 04.00 in the morning. People jump in fights randomly all the time, and I find it rather annoying at times. Then again, in cities where there are no mobs, it's kind of delightful to have lots of people around, and things sell easily on GTN... So I can accept it.
  11. You have to find a style that fits you. Simple as that. I think everyone benefits from using WASD to run. Then you can use Q and E to strafe, and 1-4 quickslots are easy to reach as well. By running with the mouse you are missing out on an important thing: running in one direction while looking in another direction. Often while running, I use the mouse left button pressed to look around and spot things around me (like codex entry blue stuff or hidden holocrons). Also, keeping both mouse buttons pressed for extended periods of time will increase the risk of tension damage to your muscles (not sure what the english term is, in Sweden we just say "mouse arm"). But once you get into combat, you have to find your own style of activating skills in an efficient way. My style is mapping the quickslots to the numeric keypad. My most used skills are 4,5,6 so for my IA Operative that would be Backstab, Shiv, Lacerate. I put important skills on the 0 since it's easy to find with the thumb. Then , and + for the other two. Then I use shift, alt and ctrl to map all quickslots the same way. Ctrl is hard to reach so on that bar I only have out of combat skills. Shift is for healing skills and Alt is for area effect skills. I find that grouping up skills according to function makes it easier for me to remember where they are. I know that if I'm healing I'm always holding shift, and if I'm fighting single mobs I'm just pressing 1-9 and if I'm fighting groups of mobs it's always pressing Alt-key. On my IA Operative, energy gaining effects is always on the 0, so just 0 is adrenaline probe while shift-0 is diagnostic scan and ctrl-0 is hero mode companion ability that restores ad-probe. This means in a fight I'm keeping both hands on the keyboard. I find this to be a bit annoying at times, only using Tab-key to target enemies etc... So I'm going to invest some money in one of those Razer mouse that has a keypad on the side of the mouse. I'm already used to having skills on the keypad, so using that kind of a mouse should come natural. That will make things a lot easier, since I can use the mouse at the same time as I'm spamming skills. Or so I expect.
  12. I'm only lvl 30 operative. But still. I never had any problems with elites my own level. Either heal my companion or do DPS works fine. Champions my own level have to be kited around objects to break line of sight. If there are no objects around to use for breaking LoS, I won't attack champion world-bosses unless they are a few levels lower than me. Difficulty doesn't seem to increase much with levels, except the class story bosses who seem to become more and more difficult. But it's nice to get a bit of a challenge in my opinion, breezing through levels isn't really enjoyable - it's just passing time. EDIT: Full healing spec, took me around 50 hours to reach lvl 30 /played.
  13. Try putting out kolto probes on people BEFORE they take damage, as they run into battle. Throw that probe around and you'll get plenty of healing during a zone. Sure, it won't save anyone from death, but you'll get healing points for it. Use surgical probe when you get it. Don't just stand there and heal. If you help kill opponents, your allies will take less damage ('cause the damage dealers are gone). In between heals, throw around some poison here and there. Interrupt enemies. Use your flash bang. Use your interrupt (the yellow one, whatever it's called, and the knife slash thingy). If they can't channel skills, they can't put out top damage, and your friends will survive longer. Playing an operative healer is not so much about spamming healing skills as it is about using all your skills in a good way.
  14. You should have mentioned the stats of the mods in the orange item... Since those are the ones that provide the summarized stats...
  15. Not quite true. I found the lvl 30 class quest boss nigh impossible until I discovered the two "interrupt" skills that I had trained and forgotten about. Interrupting his abilities made the fight easy, but just DPS:ing him didn't work and just healing my DPS or tank companion didn't work either. So this entire fight seems to rely on the player learning to use each and every skill that has been trained. For trash mobs though, yes, you could play with just one single skill. Actually, if you are prepared to grind mobs for eternity and gain enough experience that way to outlevel everything, I guess the lvl 30 boss is easy if you reach lvl 40 yourself first... But if you want to play the game in some sort of a realistic way, then you need to learn how to use every skill before you can progress.
