  1. Why would I? I think that's a perfectly valid reason to roll need. I also think rolling need for companions is fine.
  2. Which is exactly what the game has now. Just because the stat-affecting items are called a 'Reflex Barrel' instead of 'Blasty Gun of Shooting' doesn't mean you're not describing exactly what we already have.
  3. Great news! BioWare has implemented a great system where you can equip items on each slot that control the appearance of your character, with a secondary set of slots where you equip items that affect only your stats and not your appearance. It's really a pretty brilliant system, and I appreciate them listening to the demands of the community and implementing this. To equip an appearance item (identified by an orange title in the tooltip and border around the inventory icon), drop it on the appropriate slot on the paper doll on the character window. To access the secondary stat-affecting slots, Ctrl + Right-Click the item in the appearance slot.
  4. Not much more. Take my Scoundrel for instance. I know for his blaster he needs Skill Barrels. Skill Barrel 12 is > Skill Barrel 5, so when I get Skill Barrel 12, I drop it in and click apply. This ain't WoW enchants.
  5. I do that. Pitfall is awesome. "I fell in a hole!" BRAA-NA-NA-NA-NAAaAaAaAaA!
  6. You must be really bad at mods. Drag > Drop > Apply.
  7. Significantly fewer times than I've heard "Blood and thunder!"
  8. Not a bad idea, but it doesn't do anything to address what sending companions to sell junk is for - which is "I'm in the middle of nowhere, there's not a vendor for miles, and my bag is full".
  9. This might be it, actually. I'm very rarely not in a group.
  10. My Scoundrel's scatter gun is amazingly gratifying.
  11. I don't think you have a clue about what a mod system is. At least in TOR.
  12. This is the point of moddable (orange) gear. As long as you keep the mods upgraded, the gear will level with you. Find orange gear you like the look of, and keep it forever.
  13. Really it doesn't make sense that my character can't get a haircut or grow a beard. What's that the complainers always say? It breaks my immersion?
  14. Companions have an option to sell trash items from your inventory - I seem to remember getting it to work once in beta (acted like a mission skill - companion disappeared with a timer, came back with cash), but I've never gotten it to work since. My character gets a 'cast bar' (what are we calling them now? skill timers?), and does the 'get away from me' animation, but the companion just stands around, staring blankly at me and my inventory of grays. Is this broken right now, or is there some condition to it I'm not meeting?
  15. Not bad at all for me.. .. course, she plays more than I do. On the other hand, back when we ran a raiding guild in that other MMO, one of our main tanks just sort of disappeared for several days. When we finally got in touch with him we found out he "wasn't allowed" to play anymore, because his wife came home and the house wasn't clean. I think it all comes down to what both parties expect out of the relationship, and how good they are at voicing that to each other, without being demanding or confrontational. And that applies to lots of areas in marriage.
  16. They've stated this is absolutely correct. They won't be lifting the caps until after the official launch though (otherwise it defeats the purpose).
  17. After launch they're raising the caps. They're intentionally capped low right now so people will (guess what) roll on lower pop servers. Pretty smart actually, ensures even distribution and might possibly prevent server merges later.
  18. Jedi Consulars already get a Tebow emote. It's called 'Meditate'.
  19. My guess is that the exclusive CE stuff will eventually rotate to the Authenticator vendors and new stuff will be added.
  20. Flare Gun = Visual thing, like WoW fireworks Training Droid = Follows you around, like WoW vanity pets HoloDancer = Spawns a dancer, like that WoW fire festival thing HoloCam = Takes screenshots STAP In-Game Vehicle = Free mount
  21. I was going to 2nd this, but then someone suggested Samuel L Jackson, and now I'm conflicted.
  22. He works at a game company, I'm pretty sure he's the 99%. Most of the folks I've met in the industry get a lot of perks, but not mind-blowing salary. But no amount of money in the world would convince me to endure on a daily basis what these people have been putting him through, really.
  23. Here's hoping. I've never seen a successful MMO that didn't, however.
  24. I know a bit about the legacy system - you get to a certain point and you pick a legacy name, which can then be shared between all your characters on the same server (or hidden totally, in the social options). Most of the usual sources of info (Game FAQ, Game Info > Game Systems, etc) are pretty silent about any other details, however. Is there a good source of information to read up on the legacy system?
