I'm still confused why we are all discussing this IIRC BW has already stated what they want with dual specs

I think pures will always be better then hybrids esp in SWTOR where now that I look at it the talent trees are so tight. you normally want your 31 pt talent and then have your handful left over which go into the bottom tiers of the other 2 trees for generic buffs

I dont think anyone will ever ask for AC respec ... and I dont think i've seen in the last 10 pages someone mention tank/heals if anything someone did mention being able to play his characters and tank or dps or heals and dps you might have gotten confused there

Yer but how would that hold up in Heroic style flash points or raids ? I mean hey I put 3 points into the dps tree for my healer from the get go for reduced force cost ... doesnt make me hybrid (I'd assume by hybrid you'd be say I dunno teir 4 of 2 talent trees)

Um because an advance class you twit is an actual class whereas a talent tree is part of your class ... To be honest the only reason they made advance classes is so you didnt have 8 separate story line quests and they could condense it ... I hope you are smarter then this IRL

I think you missed the point of this topic like 13 pages ago ... Dual spec is purely about changing your talent trees not classes or advance classes ...

I dont know about other classes but I look at the Sage healer tree and there might as well not even be a healer talent tree. I think I have 3 points or so to play with after I take the obvious healing talents. I can only assume its the same for tanks (and I know it kinda is for sents / marauders with the trees buffing a specific stance). So I fail to see this "hybrid" builds you talk about, I do however see the potential for "gimp" builds that little timmy makes cos the talents look cool but share little synergy

Respec trainers break my roleplayign experience and I think they should be removed. I mean why can my character just forget about his healing skills and take more PEW PEW skills. It just doesnt make sense. My boyfriend told me its because wookies come from Endor can someone confirm this ?

If you have that then why not just have a computer do it for you cross server as per a dungeon finder .. i mean it promotes about as much community

How ? I mean you'll have the same gear as them .. ideally same skill as them (even though you may only be able to play your 1 class efficiently). Unless you're a bad player that stands in laser fire the introduction of dual specs shouldn't alter your position in groups very much. In every game i've played with this system, people have always had their main spec and their in a pinch spec if they need it for a group or whatever .. btw has anyone noticed the raid comps of guilds that post on youtube tend to fluctuate between 1-3 tanks mustn't be very fair on the extra tank that gets sat out because his respec bill is too high

I agree on Add-ons, they should be monitored or controlled in some way. I was watching athene arena the other day and he basiclly might as well have a mod that tells him in big block letters the next button to press ... Dual spec though ... makes life easier ... as does dungeon finder eventually when the population starts to thin (or atleast an actual LFG tool something other then putting 3 purple men next to your name)

Why use it then if you dont like it. I mean they have said they are going to put it in as far as i'm aware. Why just not use it ? I wonder how many people bad mouthing it now are going to race to get it when it is finally releaesd

Cos wow is the devil amirite ? Its done nothing for the community and should be shat on by the SWTOR elitist community ? I think my brother (who still plays wow) said when he saw some of the posts on this board ... SWTOR is filled with all the wanks who think they are to good for wow and strive so hard to not be associated with it ... so hard that they become the try hards of the gaming world

This thread is truly painful to read. Firstly to the people tooting their horn that this is an RPG and you cant just go off and change how specialized you are because it "breaks" the chi or whatever. Seriously ... this game itself breaks the RPG flow with its restrictive moral choices (and the fact that maxing your good / evil gets you better rewards). A prime example of this is in the red reaper FP on republic, you come across tanks filled with sith and you have the option to either a) leave them, b) destroy them or c) release them. Now as a Jedi I believe that destroying them would be the good option as they are your mortal enemy and to leave them or release them would be allowing them to do their sithy things at a later date. I can see how perhaps as a different class it might not be a good option or whatever. But according to bioware Jedi's wont neutralize a threat like an array of siths in hibernation but would rather just leave them be ... The moment the game tells you whats right and wrong the RPG element is thrown out of the window. Sadly the concept of RPG in the MMORPG market died somewhere between UO and EQ days (well whatever little RPG element was in MMORPGS if you ask me it was always more adventure style then roleplaying because the world was always restrictive unlike a true RPG) Secondly, alot of people were ranting that its exploiting the class and its just people wanting every skill ... this isnt true its purely to make the game more enjoyable for people such as myself who want to fill any role that is needed. I simply play to enjoy the mechanics of fights be it a healer, DPS or tank. Currently i'm a lvl 46 Sage purely healer and I can tell you even with the companion it takes about a min to kill packs of mobs. Would it be faster if I had a DPS offspec ? Yer sure probably. But you know what that offspec would really have come in handy for ... the other night when we spent a little over an hour trying to find 1 more dps for colicoid wargames when there were only healers in LFG. I wasted my night and those other players didnt get to experience the dungeon. People need to realize that the beauty of dual speccing isnt about all these stupid points being brought up in this threat its about having the right class comps available to people who want to do group content without having to spend hours in LFG till the right person is free.
