    What's going on...

So it is normal at the moment then? I just thought that due to such a large difference between my crits and other classes that I must be missing something... Guess not : /. I mean I did 250k dmg overall so I guess it could be worse for a level 10, I just need to know that I cannot go toe to toe with people yet, even though I will be lvln as shield spec

    What's going on...

Now I realise I have not played in sometime (since about 1.4) but undecided to come back and give it another go. I made a lil Vanguard and went into my first war zone and it's.... Somewhat different. I was being crit regularly for 4-7k and the most I could do in return was about 2.5k. Granted I was level 10, but I was only against lvl 13 sins. Now is there something I am missing? Are there expertise mods, augs etc I should equip to pvp at low levels? Or is it purely my gear for my level? Any help appreciated
  3. Hey folks I am writing to ask what sort of numbers other people are pulling in WZ's pre 50 on their Juggs. So I currently play all 3 Tank classes at around 30 all specced into the Tanking tree. I know, I know I love to punish myself! However I have been trying to compare numbers as of late. Obviously I understand every WZ is different and can change my play style drastically. I always try to play the objectives rather than just medal farming. So today in Huttball on my lil Juggy I came out with 87k damage 42k protection and 7 deaths. During the game I capped twice and came out with 9 medals so all in all not bad. I then switched to my Powertech and wound up in another Huttball against near on the same team. I finished that with 162k damage 17k protection and 4 deaths. Now I read a lot of complaints about Juggy dps and it got me thinking... I really struggle to get close to the Powertechs and Assassins damage and I wonder is it just me? Both other tanks have skills that hit for near on 2k crit Rail shot and Shock, where as my force scream is only pulling 1.2k crits. I appear to have descended into qq for which I apologise I just wanted to hear how other people find lower level pvp as this class.
  4. I adore Huttball players who run the ball back to their own side . I just wanna hug them and tell them its going to be ok...
  5. Not a Jugg but wanted to comment none the less! Agreed I have yet to see a Knight/Warrior break the 200k damage mark but really PvP is always going to suit the Ranged DPS more. I think there needs to be an overall metric for measuring contribution that is slapped in the face of players when the Warzone is over. As the way it is people just vote MVP for whoever (usually top damage) which is just a joke. I have seen people with 150k damage and nothing else get 3-4 MVP votes where I have 200k healing 14k objective and 70k damage and I get none. I think PuG Tanks dont generally use Guard as its the mentality of 'It gets me killed'. However the few I have seen use effectively and combine it with Taunt easily change the outcome of a fight just as much as any Healer.
  6. Anyone remember the days where you couldnt find out everything ever on the internet? I agree with a previous post it is more fun and more rewarding to figure it out for myself rather than be spoon fed tactics. Much to my Guild leaders annoyance I never read up on tactics in WoW, just turn up and hope for the best ^^
  7. I have found myself staring at my resolve bar as I am cc'd to death but as a Jedi Sage I am hardly one to complain about too much CC .

    So sick of hutball

I am a fan of Huttball to be honest. If you get a decent Jedi/Sith Tank and strap a healer to him/her then its pretty easy to win. Just head for the pit on the opposing side and wait for someone to come near the edge. My complaint with All of the Warzones is that people still would rather farm kills than complete objectives!!!!! That goes for MMO's in general but it still bugs me
  9. I like how your busy commenting and then suddenly realise someone in your group is about to die ^^. On a serious note, it is really nice to see a healer contributing to DPS. In my Opinion its the way healers were designed in SWTOR. Your group could have done a lot more to help you on the last boss also, like avoiding the cone aoe and focusing adds faster. Obviously that is generally something you have no control over. Otherwise GJ and I enjoyed the video.
  10. Haha indeed. Although my pebbles are fierce!
  11. If you multiply it by 5 where does the extra content come from? People would not like grinding womp rats for hours on end because they are not high enough to continue their story. Yet to add more story based content (the heart and soul of SWTOR) would have delayed the launch by any number of months. So what do you want them to do?
  12. Agreed. I was just trying to compare launch content. The point I was trying to make is that I do not believe it to be fair to demand more content in a game launch when the game has a fair amount to begin with. I personally do not see any major new content for a good few months. So the people who are just charging to 50 to reach the endgame might find themselves somewhat bored. Obviously this is an issue for Bioware but it is near impossible to make a game that will please everyone. The biggest issue is like you say "who are as good as professionally trained in consuming content". People are just too quick/good at ploughing through a game compared to how it once was. I can tell you one thing though, if everyone were to play a Korean MMO they would no doubt be glad for the fast content/leveling curve of a Western MMO .
  13. I guess you are talking burst damage? If so I would say maybe make either a Sin/Shadow or Gunslinger/Sniper. Sorc and Sage have great sustained DPS and will melt face if left unchecked. Plus they have A LOT more utility than most DPS classes.
  14. Lol at a 50 already... Grats to him/her though! Regarding the OP, you really think the game needs more endgame content already? It does not actually get released for 2 more days you know... Since we are doing game comparisons though lets look at (that game) WoW: WoW launched with 2 raids (Operations) (5 if you count Scholomance, UBRS, and Strat which most would not) SWTOR is launcing with 2 also WoW had no Battlegrounds (Warzones) at launch SWTOR is launching with 3 WoW launched with 18 instances (Flashpoints) SWTOR is launching with 15 but with adjustable difficulty settings. WoW has not done all that badly now has it? So you really believe that SWTOR needs more LAUNCH content?
  15. Yeah I think it is just a little bit of a mechanics check for players who are used to standing still and melting faces. Both Tank and DPS need to be ready to move out of stuff pretty quickly. I had a 3 Sentinel group and it was.... Interesting. All 3 of them eating the full duration of his cone aoe had me out of force pretty early in the fight
  16. I believe he is talking about the delay in projects damage due to the travel time. As a Sage PvP healer I absolutely love the class and dont have a great deal to complain about.
  17. Is it really required to pick up the +100 force talents first? I am 18 at the moment and went full Seer, in a desperate attempt to get the HoT faster. I know the extra 100 force and 9% cost would make a big difference but is it a deal breaker to not have them? (I am talking for around level 30 and below)
  18. At the moment I am 18 full Seer and I have no problems at all with leveling. I use Qyzen for everything and I really have not even bothered to upgrade him. Send him in on the hardest mob of the group whilst I deal with a few of 'the squishies' and heal as/when needed. I personally do not feel it to be slower than any other class and I feel a lot more confident to wade into battle against Elites and such than I ever did in beta as a Sith Marauder.
  19. After watching a few videos of the fight it seems as though even the tank can avoid the bulk of the cone aoe also. So I guess since I used Qyzen as tank he was constantly eating the entire thing. It does seem that initially at least, the class struggles in the longer fights. I guess also a large part of this problem is Tanks at this level also have little to no mitigation. So they end up needing a lot more healing than at end game (pure speculation!). Anyhow grats on the kill . All that work and he dropped an Autocannon and a Trooper hat for me ^^
  20. Was that aimed at me? As if so thats a bit of an odd arguement to make really.. 398k is an obscene number I am sure we can both agree on that. From level 12 upwards on my sage I usually finish with about 215k. It doesnt change the fact that in 2.5 seconds I heal for lets say 4k and in 1.5 seconds a dps can do ~8k. However with gear at 50 we will take less damage, but the DPS will do more damage so it all balances out right?
  21. Healing should never be god mode and I personally would not want it to be. A lot of the problem (with Trooper and Smuggler in particular) is the resource mechanics are not really suited to PvP. PvP as I am sure we all know is about burst and DESPITE what Bioware says this game is not a great deal different. Shadow/Assassin's can easily do two 3.5k crits in the space of 1gcd and I can only heal for maybe one of those in 2.5seconds. Combine that with the inability to chain in excess of 3 heals without near crippling yourself and herein lies the problem.
  22. At my current level with the untalented Force Armor it takes 65 force and my big heal only takes 55. I (rightly or wrongly) went straight into Seer so didnt pick up the 9% cost reduction or the extra 100 force talents. The plan was to get up the Seer tree as quickly as possible so I could get the talents to proc lower cost of heal / free Noble Sacrifice. I do not plan to base Sage healing on my currentl level and apologies if my thread sounded like a complaint. I was really just curious if everyone was having the same issues ^^ I appreciate your reply though
