  1. Wallpaper!? I'm so glad that went out with the 70's or thereabout. I could not imagine having to rip that stuff off the walls...

I was wallpapering on my first job....and I graduated in 1990....that didn't go out of style at all. Heck, they still sell it today...

  2. Seems like your issue is one of the "get good" variety. To put it simply, knowing how to play the game is not cheating. A dps class without heals, e.g: sniper (not counting roll/crouch/medpack), can easily get 8 medals in a pvp match.

When you say "can't be killed" do you mean they're 100% immune to damage? or that simply you're not dealing enough damage to kill them, there is a big difference.

Bottom line it does seem you just have an L2P problem. good luck

Why would you write something like that when we all see the hacking weekly...it's not a matter of not being good enough, its a matter of a non level playing field. Cheating is cheating....

  3. The thing you may have missed is that there are TWO guys. One is story and the other is veteran.

At least that is what it seems to me upon reading the thread. I have never done these because I couldn't seem to beat the Heroic version way back when and I just wanted the companions so it left me sour.....heh

  4. EA just bought and then shut down so many developers,

and then there's Mass Effect and Dragon Age, with their own stories.

About "trust" : Eric is the messenger, NOT the decider. His task is to communicate, NOT to do game decisions.

As the saying goes, in earlier times, the messenger was killed for bringing basd news - not the ones who were responsible for the bad news.

People far too often mix (and mistake) the role of a messenger aka communications employee witzh the role of the decider.

That's why I believe the word "trust" is completely wrong for describing a messenger.

People just don't look at the sources anymore. Instead, they look at the surface and then beat that surface.

Again, Eric was never changing a thing, I believe. S9imply, because his role isn't to do decisions within the team.

I was going to reply to this twisting of what was said but others have already done so....

The bottom line is we were not told what was going on until they were one foot out the door for vacation. if that is not proof of the disregard and contempt they hold for the player base I don't know what would qualify.

I still enjoy the base game and played up through Rishi with my girl. It gets really weird gearing after that. I will see what her reaction is to the game soon. I have been very careful not to give her a bias.

  5. I understand where you're coming form, but it would really help if Bioware actually responded to calmly-worded, well-written posts bringing up issues.

Case in point, on the PTS, a number of gearing issues (that all made it to live by the way) were noticed. Many reasonably-worded threads and calm questions asked for clarification and understanding. Are enhancements supposed to be slot bound? Are 252/258 armorings not suppose to be compatible with 248? Are the drop rates of MWC and 252 gear in command packs supposed to be that low?

In the PTS subforum, there were a number of posts from MattPucevich, EricMusco, even one or two from JackieCao giving information and responding to other questions.

But there was a dramatic absence of communication to the concerns on gearing. No matter how nicely (or not) they were worded.

Then, when 5.10 dropped, completely absent from the patch notes were any comments about slot-locked Enhancements (which Musco later conformed was actually intended). This is a significant change -- something that hasn't existed in the 7 years of gearing in this game! Surely that deserved an explanation? Or at the very least a MENTION in the patch notes?

How easy would it have been for Musco & co to respond to some of the well-written posts? Wouldn't that have engaged the community with a higher level of discourse?

When many people try bringing up issues calmly and are ignored, is it so surprising that the tone starts to go downhill?

This is why Eric and the others cant be trusted. Things like this, they withheld info they knew would be upsetting. Why it would be upsetting was obvious. They were changing something that would negatively impact us. Not bringing it up would be okay, but ignoring questions directed at the situation is being deceptive. Thus they lost any good will from honest people.

  6. What the original post described is accurate. My small guild (which is active every night) is going to have to ignore this "guild improvement" update. We all know each other and THAT is the reason we have a guild. It's the whole reason we even play this game lol. We are the people getting the shaft. They spent money on a system that will only benefit players that all group together and run like a company.

They know that the population is not raiders....they built the game on soloable content...and now they turn it around to be a Mega Guild game?

    How odd....

  7. I was not talking about who has the reason or not, but two adults who decided to make a decision and now they must live with the result of it. The ones that suffer the most from this situation are always the children.

I am a child of divorce.

The children don't "suffer" at all! That BS is just what the touchy feely people use as a crutch. The people that suffer are the Wife and Husband as the "plan" they had falls apart after 20 years and they have to figure out what to do with a house, cars and of course the children that are being told they are the victims.

  8. A little quote for you whinys...

...considered one of the best raids in WoW ever.

If Blizzard does it no one bets an eye but if Bioware (11 Devs or so remaining) does the same everyone loses their minds...

Comparing a 12 boss raid to one boss installments....you can NOT be serious with what you posted. Multiple bosses in each installment is not in any way comparable.

  9. Neither offer what COH had, My group has been searching for a home as well.

ESO is a totally different game play feel, kinds like DDO in hotkey style....way to few abilities.

FF was cool for a bit....until the last expansion that crippled our crafters that hadn't been in game for years. Made a huge wall that we couldn't brute force past. Gearing got way too crazy....group played followed that line.

Drop a line here if you find a home. We have 2 dozen or so looking to move.

  10. What I got from the stream was a sense of desperation from them. They seem to be trying to figure out how to fix this mess but don't have the resources to do it. OR, they are stringing us along. I cant decide yet.

The one boss every so often, till they hit 5 by the end of the year is such an obvious indication that they are TIGHT on resources. There should be a plethora of "op brainstormed stuff" piled up from the past 2 years. Developing it should be much shorter now.

The rate we gain CXP will go up, they seem to know it but are stretching it out, based on the stream they just completed. My alts are not gonna wait, and if they just add stuff later and not retroactive anything the 20 odd people we have "casualing it out with us" will bolt. Once the Guild stronghold closes up and the support we give ends....they will fold.

The stream does not bode well for the future. Too little...too desparate.

  11. Heroics will give you the gear you are looking for...or crafting....

On fleet, in the combat section, there is a console that has all the heroics. Pick up a bunch and they have an auto transport that will take you to the relevant area to do the heroic. Most people do them with just a companion. A lot also do them in a full group cuz..."reasons."

    Gearing shouldn't be a problem.

  12. You still get gear from crates.

    Which sucks to do.....

As has been explained over and over.....

They see money leaving because of the "get gear from crates." So they are making changes. Changes that sadly don't fix the issue for what the gaming community as a whole across all games KNOWS is the Majority.

Casual gamers has been and still is the largest segment of gamming customers, yet they aren't making changes that make a dent in their grievances.

  13. Well my boyfriend had good gear, as we both have been playing since launch so we know to make sure we have the right gear. He is also a Jedi Guardian, tank. I have laughed at times when I hear people say that a Jedi Guardian can't do this or that. I tell him and he goes out and does it just to prove them wrong.

The point I am trying to make is some people don't need all the datacrons if they know what they are doing. I have ran across people who have all the datacrons and still can't do it. Just last week we both did two uprisings and one group was great and then there was the second one, I shiver thinking about how many times we winded wiping because the one dps would not even stay out of stupid (circles). Even with all the datacrons that will not help a person like that.

If a DPS dieing wipes the party in an Uprising, then the "party" has a nasty problem not the idiot who cant stay out of stupid. A tank with a solid healer or high influence companion can solo those. I have zero Ops gear, as in never had it, and I run SM uprisings with T7 at influence 27.

Gear does matter, but intelligence matters more.

Also chalk me up with the "228 crafter gang". Augged out Armormech 228 gear is the staple for all my 70s. Screw Galactic command.

  14. What?

How much did Billy pay for the reward? He paid for a sub, the same price as Johnny pays for his sub now. Prices haven't changed since last year. The only difference is Billy got a prize last year. Prizes are free for those who win them. If Billy wins a car at a raffle, Johnny doesn't get a free car. Johnny can still buy a car, the same exact car, that Billy got.

Your reasons are getting beyond tolerance.

1- We subbed BECAUSE of everything we get for subbing. The game and its content. The bonus chapter was not free.

2- Billy won the prize. The chance of winning wasn't free. Had to sub for it

2a- Johnny didn't "win" because he didn't even play. Don't play cant win.

You desperately need a logic course.

  15. You really have no idea what you are talking about. You still have the same grind with 5.0 but soon you will also be able to get additional gear with pvp vendors and by doing ops. That is LESS of a grind. It may not be perfect or what we wanted but it is a step in the right direction.

    Totally incorrect.

This system is far more grind.

In 4.x As my character leveled I received crystals for 208 gear. Had more then enough to get decked out and start the grind for the next level.

Now I hit 70 with ZERO progress to my goal with a month of work to do.

Before My first character could help my next and future alts in a snowball effect. Now each character is on their own.

  16. The Command Experience values of Command Experience items dropped from Flashpoint encounters has been increased.

    Would that count?

And hell yes I am pleased with the patch notes.

Attempting to fix the DvL event

increasing cxp for golds and uprisings

    nerfing those damn droids

and the rest of those bug fixes.

    can't wait.

I think what they mean is why does a STORY uprising give more then a Veteren Flashpoint in the mission rewards?

They seem to be fumbling in the dark these days. Mission rewards have got to be the easiest thing to tweek, in my layman's opinion. Why raise the shorter one to higher then the longer one?

  17. This is confusing. You're actually making the case for EXACTLY why this was done. They are: a) focusing on "majority" of players and b) intentionally shifting away from Ops-type content.

The Mojority's Time has finally come around.

Someone finally gets it. People dont want to be rushed through cut scenes or ram-rodded throough fights in the "elite" ops. Good luck getting additional people in your ops folks. We dont need you anymore.
