  2. Hi all, I'm in the process of changing some things around on my Vanguard tank who is heavily mitigation focused. He's mostly 72's with the Underworld/Arkanian 4 piece set bonus (2 of each) and a few 69's (for better enhancements). I follow the mitigation outline of KBN, and until now have been using the Arkanian Implants and Verpine Earpiece (which is terrible), but since I can now craft all the veracity ones too, I'm thinking of switching over to those as they net me an additional ~50 mitigation points per piece. Overall I'd lose ~ 163 endurance and gain ~150 mitigation which seems well worth it to me on the surface, but does leave me with a few concerns. 1) I'm going to lose close to 160 Aim - I've never had issues holding threat before but I'd hate for this change to make that a possibility. 2) Losing ~1600 health would drop me to about ~34-35k fully stimmed which I fear may be on the low side for running HM operations (mostly HM DF and DP 8 man) It doesnt help that other tanks in my guild are endurance stackers (I've tried explaining) Additionally, I still have my Elite War Hero Relic of the Shrouded Crusader (+120 shield rating) - how does that stack up to the current RW and FR Brutalizer relics? I currently run with the Elite War Hero and Arkanian FR but am thinking of just getting the two pvp ones. Thoughts and advice? Thanks in advance
  3. As a huge fan of PvP tanking, I've always thought that the current implementation of the "Guard" ability, while good, falls seriously short of it's potential. I'd love to see the "Guard" ability gain unique active skills that require guard to be up on a friendly target in order to be useable, as well as only being triggered in a PvP environment (unless they could be balanced for PvE I suppose) For example here are some skill ideas: "Amplification" - Overrides your shield generator control unit, increasing your shield and absorb rating by 100% (ie. doubles the current value, it's not added) for 6 seconds. Has cooldown of 2 minutes. "Emergency Transfer" - Allows you to bestow your shield on a nearby friendly target, within a 10 meter range, providing a "Shielded" buff, which transfers your current shield and absorb rating to them for 6 seconds. While active your ability to shield is reduced by 100%. Has cooldown of 3 minutes. "Shield Barrier" - Focusing on your guarded target, you channel your shield for maximum efficiency, reducing all damage done to them by 100% for 5 seconds. While channelling you are immune to interrupts but are rooted in place for the duration of the cast. Has cooldown of 5 minutes. "Overload" - You overload your shield and that of your guarded target creating an ionic explosion that coats nearby friendly units providing 10% damage reduction for 6 seconds. Your previously guarded target gains the "Discharged" debuff and cannot be re-guarded for 45 seconds. Has a cooldown of 2 minutes. The benefit to most of the above is emphasis on tanking stats, thus dps gear and hybrids would stand to benefit far less, hopefully creating a better place for mitigation based PvP tanks. The potential animations for such skills could be quite epic too. Disclaimer: These are just ideas... whether they are even possible or not, people much smarter than myself will know for sure. Durations and cooldowns were just added quickly for explanation's sake, as I'm sure they're far from realistic. I'd love to see PvP tanks receive some attention and look forward to reading more in this thread! Cheers
  4. Hey all, I'm sure some of these have already been mentioned, but the more support the better. Here are a few things I'd love to see in game: 1) Companion icons in the crew skill window change to match their new appearance, as well as the companion pop up icons for conversation points - bit of an immersion breaker to see a different face popping up all the time reminding you "this is what I used to look like!" 2) A weapons preview system, like how we can preview armor, but it shows the weapon equipped instead. 3) Extra character creation slots based on legacy level unlocks - for example: Legacy level 10 - 1st new slot unlock, 9 total Legacy level 15 - 2nd new slot unlock, 10 total Legacy level 20 - 3rd new slot unlock, 11 total ...... Legacy level 50 - 8th new slot unlock, 16 total (obviously the levels can be made higher, but for a game that promotes story and alts, no sense in making it take forever to achieve). 4) Legacy Shared Bank - accessible by all characters of the legacy. 5) Legacy Shared Commendations - all commendations earned by characters of the same legacy are pooled and collected together, accessible by all characters.
