The nanes I picked could not be deemed offensive in any way. As I had exhausted choices, the first name I picked was 'Ichiko', Japanese for Sorceress. The next name was 'Akaname', a type of harmless demon in Japanese. If they banned them because they were Japanese, then CS is going to be very busy this week, as about 30 other words in Japanese that I tried were all taken. The only thing close to making sense is, due to some bug, my original name atill shows up as levelling in a Guild listing; however, that's a stretch. I think if I were to choose the name 'Dorothy' they would cite The Wizard of Oz. I really am at a loss right now.

I also no longer have privileges to look up post by User ID. I better check my brke lines in my car tonight. Must have really irritated someone.

I have now had to rename my one character three times in the last 12 hours, either I am being tracked by CS better than the US tracked Bin Laden or some really PO'ed player is watching me play and reporting me as soon as I enter the game. Some people just really need to take off the Spock ears and get a life.

I wonder if Doug Bradley is playing. (He was Pinhead). I did ask for a second review.

As far as names befitting the film, I'm not on an RP server and I've never seen the films. I didn't know that was a pre-requisite for enjoying the game. As far as maturity, I'm 51. I can't help it if I like a little humour. I keep it clean and I stay off of RP servers, as in my opinion, that is where people should be for full immersion into all aspects of the lore. I've had less grief from censors on films I've worked on.

If, by 'rules', you mean the 90 pages of boiler plate that is comprised predominantly of legalese, then, yeah I chose to play this week instead of pouring over a basic EULA. Some things just come down to allowing flexibility in their naming conventions, which, by the other names I saw, does allow for some artistic licence.

RP, as far as my understanding of usage, is only encouraged on RP servers, mine is PvE. They had no problem, from the results of an account scan, with my other six names. I avoid RP servers in any MMO; however, particularly in this one, as I have never seen any of the films. (Not that I have anything bad to say about them, just that I was 18 when the first film came out and, as it garnered a PG rating, I used to hate going to films that allowed 10 year-olds. In the '70's, that usually meant lots of noise and people throwing popcorn at the screen.)

I had no problems in any groups I was in, (other than lag, which would be expected). I even passed on every item that dropped, as I couldn't really use any of the gear personally. I did get a warning for starting this thread though. So much for free thought or expression. As the game received a 'T' rating, you would think that this would be an appropriate question to put forward. Oh well, I guess I p***** off another prude. With a little more controversy I might qualify to run for public office.

I thought I read them but I must have missed a section. I definitely got someones slide rule bent out of shape. Good thing I didn't name a character Kap'nKurk. Instead of threat of banishment, I would be subject to crucifixion. (sp?).

I have a Rogue in WoW named Narazumono, Japanese for Thief, (kind of), but I've never had a single complaint.

Minority Report was actually a good film. It was about people who were arrested for crimes prior to their commission, through the use of psychics. Very dark but a very thought-provoking storyline. That was why I was comparing mods to Thought Police. Soon we will be modded just by thinking what we should post.

I could see where Bulimia could be bad. That's a difficult thing to overcome. I just thought it was fun because my character turned out so pale, plus I was dashing through the creation process to make one of each. If they had a policy on no real words, they could easily add a filter. They have mostly all deities locked out from creation. In honesty, of all of the names I made, I really thought Beelzebub would be the one to cause me some grief. I guess I should avoid AnnyRexik for a joke back on them. (I really thought Devs had more of a sense of humour than they are exhibiting here.

I flirted with Influenza, but it just seemed too clinical. Anemia actually kind of sounds name-like. I wonder if Osama would be flagged ?

It would have been nice, not fair - but nice though, to give me an ability to choose another name. If they do change it, and not kill my account outright, it will most likely be something completely lame and not reflecting my personality at all. (Probably returning as Flounder).
