  1. Instead of stat increases like you propose I'd rather they add either better set bonuses or more bonuses to the top line gear, that way the only difference is pretty much slightly reduced/increased durations and or ranges of abilities in addition to superior looks ( and I mean WAY better looks than the generic attainable gear).
  2. Korn Seen it all Kavinsky Nightcall
  3. 156. Why am I always the one getting stunned? 157. Just my Luck, All my cooldowns are not up and I'm at 50% health. Lame Operatives only go after weak and dying people.... wait a minute.. 158. Yet another stun... through a full resolve bar. AWESOME! not really 159. I think stuns put a big Neon Colored sign over my head that says: HEY GUYS, KILL THIS DUDE THAT CAN'T MOVE AND YOU GET A PRIZE!
  4. I agree, one of the things that kind of shocked me was the absense of realm abilities akin to DAOC and Warhammer.
  5. Your distinction that time doesn't equate to skill is incorrect. The longer you do something, whether it's a desk job or something intricate like Brazillian Jiu jistu, it is natural to become skilled in some particular fashion simply because of repitition and time invested. This becomes even more appearent when you get new people in. Now, some people are just more naturally talented and thus, progress much faster and even surpase someone who's been doing the same thing for awhile. Gear makes a difference, sure. It's especially appearent when you see the gap between a fresh 50 and a full champion equiped character. My personal opinion is that you'll be able to tell whether someone is skilled or not even with the gear imbalance. I've seen full on battlemasters that were pure garbage, and I've seen some fresh 50's that even though they died quicker, you could tell they knew what they were doing as far as utilizing their classes abilities and cooldowns. I think it's fine as is. the biggest gap is fresh 50 to champion. Champ to BM is marginal in comparison.
  6. they've been fairly balanced on my server, sometimes you run into a inq heavy grp and my premade tears them up real quick> Sabo/DF gunslinger/ vigilance guardian/ Hybrid sage/Medic commando. tanks are the latest fad though, because of the charge/choke, as well as invuln bubbles. Once you figure out how to counter these turds, you're golden. If they buff anything on this class, I'm gonna abuse it as long as it takes, just sayin'
  7. +1 wanted to add, sometimes get terrain issues where you can't take cover near ledges and stuff.
  8. I'd gladly duel you, but I'm on Kinrath Spider. maybe someone else on your server will step up.
  9. are you kidding me? Now I think you are either lying about your gear, you are attacking the wrong targets, or you haven't truly played a sabo/df build because you are flat out wrong about damage and survivability of that particular build, which has just about every defensive ability either enhanced, or on a lower c/d timer. it's pretty asinine, to think that I don't know any better about gunslinger if I'm having lots of success at it.
  10. the problem is, everyone is expecting to use aimedshot/charged burst as thier bread and butter skills and in all honesty they aren't. The second issue is people expecting to be nearly invisible or invincible once behind cover. The funniest thing is, I'm not even specc'd into sharpshooting and my aimed shot does around 3.2-5.2k on crits to non tanks. I feel that the only reason you want to take cover is to either a) ambush someone b)keep from getting cc'd/charged c)finish off your rotation for the kill. I fall into category C, I only go into cover once I have shock charge, vital shot, and shrap bomb on the target, then I lay on sabotage charge and speed shot > quickshot, then bug out. this allows you a lot more flexibility and control over the battlefield than just sitting in the back trying to kill people at max range. I'd actually say that we are more of a midfield class than anything because that allows us to protect everyone in your group while also reaching into the enemy backline and sending their healers back to the respawn point.
  11. I'm a 68BM gunslinger in full battlemaster, minus boots, helm, and gloves with around 682 expertise. You sound like a sharpshooter spec and I'm sorry to say, that it's supbar due to being physical damage and being the least mobile spec. I'm a sabo/DF and the thing about almost every skill from both of those trees is that they do kinetic or bleed damage, and those ignore armor. I drop dps spec tanks like nothing, and the defensive tanks do take a bit because of all thier defensive cooldowns, but everything else is fair game. if you spec into sabo, it reduces the cost of a lot of the abilities and you forget sabotage puts coolhead and defense screen on a 1min timer. Tracer missle is trash, you'll get a few bounty hunters once in awhile that hand it to you hard, but we as a class have all the right counters to the BH. I'm not sure what your spec is or what your rotation is, but something is off if you feel the way you do. My gripes with cover is a) bugs out near ledges and on some terrain b) can't take cover if rooted. Everyone saying that we die fast if focused.... It happens to every class.
  12. What class are you, and you must go against some really sucky snipers/gunslingers. As a gunslinger myself, I think it's definitely the most underrated class in the game, but also one of the best. The learning curve is pretty large due to the cover mechanic, but if you can find a balance between cover and mobility you'll do fine.
  13. what spec are you? If you are sabo/df hybrid it crits up to 3k per person and on the global c/d. very good for a spammable aoe that can get you a bunch of Killing blows. Don't knock it.
  14. all I do is drop a Freighter fly-by by his pillar. He's either gonna eat the aoe or come out so I can shoot him. Either way, he's dead.
  15. You're the wrong spec for pvp. MM totally limits ANY mobility that the class has. End of discussion. If you want to top the charts with damage, killing blows, solo kills, and fewest deaths you either want a Dirty Fighting or a hybrid Sabo/DF spec. The reason why the class appears to suck at face value is: 1) hard learning curve 2) being played by bad players 3)fairly squishy Starting out you think the class is really awesome cause you can stay behind cover and aimed shot >charged burst people, early on. Once people learn that they need to LOS you or get in your face it changes the dynamics of the class a whole lot. This is why I prefer the sabo/df hybrid spec. you get most of your defensive abilities on reduced c/d's, and more instant damaging abilities that all do either bleed or kinetic damage, which ignores armor. Sabotage charge fully talented out will crit for 3.5-4k on initial blast and around 500-1k on the 3 secondary charges, add in shock charge, vital shot, and shrap bombs, and you get dots ticking for 400-900 dmg each, plus speed shot which hits anywhere from 500-1200 per half second not including the talent dot blazing speed. It starts off fairly slow, cause you are trying to stack everything, but once it's on, nothing lives. There have been fights where I got ambushed by someone and they started out 100% with my around 60% before I got everything on them, 2seconds later they are at 5% health with my finishing them off with a quickdraw. As far as mobility goes, I'm an extremely aggressive Gunslinger, so You'll likely see me in the mid line, than at max range, stacking all my dots till I see someone I want to kill (usually a healer, a dps sage, or a tracer spamming BH) then I'll go through my rotation. That is the ONLY time you'll ever see me in cover and that is why I live a lot longer than I do if I just stay behind the big neon blue billboard sign. 1v1's for the most part I will win 8.5/10. Sometimes I'll mess up my rotation or the other guy gets a lucky string of crits on me. To give you an idea of the difficulty of the class, I have ALL 4 quickbars full of abilities, and I use almost all of them every single fight, compared to around 10 to 15 on my vigilance specc'd guardian. stats at end game are Cunning>Crit>Surge>Power>End. Here are mine, I have a few pieces of battlemaster, and the rest is champ. 1460 Cunning 1436 Endurance 685 Expertise 91.93 %accuracy 36.86% crit 87.44% crit multiplier Riddickk Kinrath Spider
  16. CC is ok IMO, only issue is with some abilities not setting off resolve, such as force leap and immobilizes, which sucks personally, as a gunslinger. I cannot use cover while rooted. also I am effectively permanently locked down if two marauders chain force leap me, with very little in the way of escaping. I have come to the conclusion that Resolve is broken, there have been many times when I've had a full resolve bar and people were still force choking me. Hell I've had my CC immunity up and still got force choked. Not sure if it's the ability or what, but yeah, resolve sucks. I've learned to abuse it whenever I can though. This one is pure crap, the biggest issue is that there's really only two places to fight. Center and one of the bases. If they made armaments spawn at ALL the locations, you could spread out the more populated side into smaller groups in which the less populated side has a better chance of fighting against. I even propose and Against All Odds buff that increases valor gains as well as endurance and damage. Right now Valor gain is being abused by both sides via Kill Trading. On my Server, Kinrath Spider, there are BattleMasters that don't even have full champ sets( and I mean like only 2 or 3 pieces of champ) and Warmasters that aren't even skilled enough to get the title without Ilum, and I really mean that these guys are turds and I've personally had to carry their asses with my premade to ensure a win in a wz. I concur with game performance as well. This map either needs to be revamped or killed off. Agree
  17. That is the ONLY advantage that IG has over Shrap, and it depends on what you want. Intially, before getting full champ and an awesome premade group to run with, this ability was awesome for getting wins. However, as I started rolling with a premade that plays well together, I realized that I just needed the dps boost that shrap gaurantees over IG. shrap sticks to 3 targets, even after death and that is sustained dps. it's even more effective in a 1v1 cause you can stack 3 dots > sabo charge>speed shot > quickdraw> /cheer To the OP, I really dislike how you say that GS is no good at assaulting points, especially in Alderaan. Follow a group in, hide by the stairs >illegalmod>Relic>Freighter Flyby>Shrap>frag>sweeping gunfire> /lol there were times where a node was held down by 6members of the opposing faction and we cleared them out in less than 20seconds, just from aoe, because we wanted a 3 cap instead of the 2.
  18. This is untrue, however which way you spin it, especially in pvp. I run with a premade 4man grp which includes a dps guardian, dps sage, myself as a Sabo/DF hybrid and a commando healer. All of us have over 680 expertise, use adrenals/relics/stims and we are always close in dps within about 10-20k give or take based on various factors, upto and including focus fire/cc/etc. we are not the definitive top dps dog that some people make us out to be. Definitely the top 3 or 4 in dps, but it's not as clear as black and white, and is especially true now that people know how dangerous I am once I'm spotted. Case in point, I was in a voidstar last night in which I had 3 marauders, just chain charging and force choking me for pretty much the entire match, and I was effectively locked down, and managed to do a measley 370k whilst our guardian was able to pull in nearly 500k. P.S. I tried full DF and it's not my cup of tea.
  19. My biggest issue is not being able to get back into cover once I've been rooted in place, that is where the majority of my deaths take place, from being chain charged and locked down that way. I'm kinda iffy as far as damage output goes, It's fairly good, but sometimes it's meh. maybe a base increase on armor penetration from 25% to 35-40% should be good. Hunker down is fine as is.
  20. We do not need a ranged stun, our melee stun is fine as is. This is a player issue rather than class, IMO.
  21. I concur on all points. I think the LOSing issue affects the sharpshooters moreso than the other two specs. the primary answer to LOSing is to just drop aoe on the other side of the pillar. I do this is freighter flyby and my cybertech grens. They'll have two choices, either sit in the aoe and take dmg anyways, or come out and fight. Sabo and DF are pretty mobile as is, and don't forget, you can use the same tactic as well.
  22. I disagree, During beta and my initial inspection at the 31 point talent I thought it'd be underwhelming. Fact of the matter is that it is probably the single best fire and forget ability we have that allows us to keep a control/capture point permanately locked down as long as we stay alive. Consider the fact that 2 out of the 3 warzones we have feature capture/control points makes it that much more special. You won't believe how people will stand in the fire trying to capture the point not realizing that the dot effect disrupts the channel, and against multiple opponents. Add in a Thermal every GCD and you can keep 5+ defenders from capturing a point until you get back up to tie them down. It's also extremely effective at clearing out opponents trying to disarm the bombs in voidstar or melee training your flag carrier. I usually call over TS : "dropping AOE" Incend gren> Relic>illegal mod> Freighter Flyby> Sweeping shots right on that target , and it WILL drop 3-5 people who stand in it.( and believe me if the incentive is to disarm a bomb or kill your flag carrier they WILL stay in it, especially those tunnel vision idiots) I've actually seen complaints from IMP side players: Was that for real? What just killed us? how can they drop 12khps in 5 seconds?
  23. No love for Saboteur, hehe. IMO here is my argument for why saboteur is the best grp spec. Energy efficient Good CC capability( especially if you go the last 10 points into DF for Dirty Escape) Decent Sustained Burst can keep control points locked down with incend grenade. Can Drop 3-5 guys in a few seconds if clustered together on a focused target like a healer, capture point or flag carrier with stacked aoe. Incend gren + XS freighter Flyby+sweeping gunfire.
  24. I'm 50 now and pulling in over 300k per match as sabo, once you get Incendiary Grenade, you can keep a capture point on both voildstar AND alderaan Tied up as long as you are still alive against multiple attackers. I also like to stack my aoe on a capture point, particularly in Voidstar once we secure a door. Pop Relics, Illegal mods> incend grenade > Freighter Flyby>Sweeping Gunfire. Prettymuch Wipes every defender trying to disarm the bomb( IE 3+ people in a matter of seconds). I'll be honest and say I never tried sharpshooter as it just doesn't fit my style as a mobile platform. My playstyle is extremely aggressive with me trying to either tie up control points or going for their backline, hence more deaths than usual(not to mention the fact that a lot of the premade IMP teams Specifically try to focus me down if they know I'm in the match). I Did try Dirty fighting, while it does do VERY good focused dmg against single targets rather quickly, the energy management made it very lackluster once all my energy was gone. I also think that I have better consistent burst with sabotage charge and the talents necessary for additional charges(mostly because even though the dmg is slightly less per hit, it's also MUCH MUCH cheaper energywise). I understand to a point that some of the dmg may be inflated, but if you are running with a good team, a lot of the aoe does become useful IF you drop it on targets clustered together(mostly healers or melee attacking a single friendly) A lot of times our premade healer gets swarmed and I just tell him over teamspeak to stay where he is and drop aoe right on top of him, with our tank protecting him. Believe me, when they see that animation for XS freighter, they'll either scram or try to kill our healer. Most of the time we drop them ^_^. Really, play what you like. I was just verifying that Sabo Is effective and it does work much more effectively especially when trying to control capture points. Edit: My deaths are within the parameters that you stated for SS. First screenshot has 3, and second has 6.
