  1. Lol, I like how Reid told everyone he's waiting for confirmation so he doesn't sound like an idiot explaining things, and you people are still not okay with this. Seriously, this will be my last post on the forums. No, really.
  2. See now, I can agree with this. You're being logical. I understand that some people enjoy their high-end graphics and in some cases it makes or breaks a game for them. Also, I'd like one person to tell me what exactly this magic and simple "fix" is that will restore the high textures to all without problems, because I certainly don't know. This is why I don't work on the dev team, I play the game and work a different job. It could be more complicated than anyone realizes. If by some trolling stunt the dev team knows exactly what it takes to fix the game and just hasn't implemented it because they enjoy reading people all over the forums complain about the game they worked very diligently to make happen, then I'll eat my hat. Until then, I still stand by my beliefs that all this hubbub over something the devs already know about and SHOULD be working to resolve is just pointless yammer.
  3. THIS IS WHAT I'M SAYING, MANG. God, someone with logic please help me here as I wade through the turds. "omg, if we don't make QQ threads all over the forums they will completely fuhgeddabout us!"
  4. I still don't understand these images, lol. My game does not look like that left hand pic there.
  5. I never said I get food stamps/welfare. Man, you people aren't even quoting me right anymore. Take a look at America as a whole and tell me I'm wrong, unless you live in white suburbia where lawns are trimmed with rulers and Mrs. Smith would never lay a hand on those children of hers.
  6. When did I ever say that ONE GUY LOL was responsible? I never said that. And I never said that a problem was linear in solving either. I said that there are a crapload of other issues going on at the same time that SHOULD have higher priority in regards to implementation in a patch or what have you than other issues.
  7. That isn't even a viable comparison, lol. We are not talking about FPS/latency/whatever here. If you bought a sports car and they showed epic pictures of said car and you went to the dealership to buy or test drive and the car wasn't as shiny as the photos... maybe.
  8. I'm not seeing the HORRID UNPLAYABLE graphics that some might be. Sure, there's a difference form title screen to game, but it's not so bad that I will simply cease to exist because of it. http://i39.tinypic.com/1620bhe.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/105b8k0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KyeU2.jpg ^It can really be a pretty game. And no, I don't live in Russia, I live in America where people believe everything should be perfect and spoonfed to them or they'll take their welfare money/food stamps somewhere else. The graphics displayed by dev screenshots are GOING to be fantastic but I just don't see justification in crying so much because they had an issue implementing the features. Yes, they were in beta, yes there is still a problem post launch, but as I said before countless times... it is not as important. It just isn't. Some people can't progress through companion stories, some people can't progress THEIR OWN stories properly, certain classes are clearly OP, some quests are broken, end game raid content needs work, some people can't even PVP due to some unknown FPS problem and you want your precious textures. And then some will say "well why did they launch if the game wasn't ready, etc" BECAUSE THE FANBASE WOULD HAVE **** A GIANT BRICK if the date was pushed back. There is no pleasing the fanbase. Anything done will negatively effect someone and there has to be priority fixes. Honestly, I'd rather they fix imbalances, quest bugs, and companion issues over my textures/AA because it is not a make-or-break sort of thing for me. For some others, it may very well be and in that case you should leave, like I've said before, and save your month or two of precious moneys until they integrate such a pivotal and necessary function.
  9. I've been "dissatisfied" with the lack of high res textures myself, but seriously guys? There's no need to be blatantly disrespectful to those who are working hard to try and make the game everything you'd like it to be. If you play this game solely for the PRETTY COLORS AND PICTURES then please, by all means /quit already because that's ridiculous. There are so many other legitimate problem threads on this forum that seriously interrupt or completely halt advancement in the game and you're flailing around because your shadows are a little jagged or your two-tone helmet isn't crisply defined? Oh what a world we live in. Grow some patient balls and quiet down already. The game is new, it's Bioware's first MMO, people are so spoiled these days when it comes to gaming that their expectations completely override logic anymore. And like I said, I'd like my high res textures and AA as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to crap my pants and cry over it either. You know, I don't know why I even read the forums anymore. Actually, I don't even know why I sometimes respond even. But you people just drive me up a wall with your entitlement issues. Take your 14.99 somewhere else and go buy some tampons.
  10. God, have you people never played an MMO in your lives? If not that's fine, but there's no point in complaining about something that is a normal procedure (entering CC information) in pretty much any other product you'd pay a fee for via the internet. This will never change and seriously is no different than any other game. Also, with WoW, you bought a trial pack of the original game that was completely separate from the original game itself (aka, you did not pay 50 or whatever dollars for the trial, you paid like 10 or however much it costs nowadays). In that trial period is a "disposable" trial key that does not require CC information because you must upgrade your trial in order to continue playing the game with a legitimate and normal product key/registration code. When WoW first launched, there was no trial pack to buy. It is the same situation here. I'm sure in the future SWTOR will have trial packs and all of that happy horse ****, but THIS IS LAUNCH. You paid for a collector's edition and don't expect to play for more than a month? OR, you bought an MMO (full version, at launch) with no means of paying for said monthly fees? That's your problem. Everyone should at least know that MMOs require monthly fees; this prevents a lot of probable complaint-related customer service issues with "late payments" and other possible liabilities. The first month is free as a courtesy to you; you don't like the game, cancel it within the first month and you don't pay **** else, sorry and have a good day. Or, simply, you can't afford it? That's alright, your account will be frozen when the month runs out and you can reactivate whenever you are able. It will not be deleted. You like it? You keep playing and it charges you once the first month is over with no extra work. Then, you can cancel at any time and still play until your month (or months, depending on what you pay for) run(s) out. Also, I chose the regular monthly subscription plan and had no issues with payment going through. It took nothing from my account. What DID happen was I preordered the digital version and the cost for the game MINUS the $5 preorder fee was deducted from my account on the day of release. The 6-month payment should not have been taken out and I'd recommend contacting customer support in order to refund your payment and let them know that this is happening in the first place because it is not normal. Anyone having issues with their hard copy coming in the mail should have expected to at least possibly encounter issues, especially with the holiday season right around the corner. There's nothing anyone can really do about that unless there was a transporting issue, in which case you'd contact the place from which you ordered the game (Origin, Amazon, etc), but again, it is the busiest time of the year. They are SWAMPED. I chose a digital download based upon these reasons and perhaps you should have considered the same. But honestly... your account will still be there once the game comes in the mail. It's frustrating to have to be cut off, I'm sure it is, but **** happens mang. You can't always expect everything to go smoothly in life.
