  1. For the flame burst thing it's probably because of a lazy or disorganised web team as it says the exact same thing on the PT page. Either way it appears they've done the EXACT same nerf/buff/change to BOTH class iterations of the tree, when the classes have vastly different uses for it, which is maddeningly frustrating. For pyro, a 10 second c/d on PPA triggered by IM is ridiculous, and if we're nerfed in the same way as PTs I'll lose ALL remaining faith in BW's ability to balance classes. This will be a deal breaker for me i.e. no resub. Give us flame burst and we'll talk though haha
  2. What are we looking at here and does it have to do with 1.3? For pyro it say IM will now trigger PPA but every TEN seconds D: Also, flameburst? What?
  3. This argument is *********** stupid.
  4. Agreed. But let's wait and hear what the changes actually are. There is no less reason to remain vocal about the issues we experience playing the class.
  5. Exactly. It's not changes to our dps we need; it's the very nature of our trees that need sorting. Parked next to Snipers in the interview who are getting tree improvements, it makes me think they are only looking at dps. Lame, because basically it will only be arsenal tree that gets a buff, no doubt.
  6. We love merc too, that's why we want the best for the class. Because we care about it's competitiveness, suitability and performance when measured against other well performing classes. That's why we stick around here shouting at a brick wall, taking abject criticism and ridicule, and sometimes feeling utterly useless in PvE and PvP. Because we love merc. And no offence, but your scores mean nothing mate.
  7. Cool but I don't think we need DPS improvements as much as we need tree improvements though.
  8. You brought evidence of high dps in those examples, which is great... happy for you. Yes, pyro is very playable. In pug warzones I also find it easy to top the charts. If there's a healer backing me then I can get obscene dps, as could any other class. However, mercs are under powered compared to so many others in terms of utility. Arsenal also suffers in terms of dps. No amount of screenshots can disprove that.
  9. Highest valor level: 84 Merc Main reason for unsubbing: No arena, no cross server queues, boring PvP, too many bugs, poor game enging, LoS lag, ability lag etc etc list goes on Would I resubscribe again: if things REALLY changed
  10. A set of screens showing high dps, I grant you that, but doesn't take into account things like objectives, 1v1s or skill of your/opposing team. You could just be tab-dotting and finishing people off for all I know. With scores like that I expect you were just mindlessly pushing dps anyway. No offense, but If every player saved screens of their best scores we'd all have a similar folder. FYI, it's the utility and defense that mercs most crave in pvp, not more dps.
  11. *backpedals away from bad455* Actually, hang on. So you played at that rating and you didn't even like it? Am confuse - it's almost like... you're lying?
  12. Why? It would cater for plenty of players like myself who want to mindlessly gank stuff. Why should all pvp be objective based?
  13. Power shot instant cast would save merc pyro. In my humble opinion it should have a cgc proc rate more like 50%+ to bring us more in line PTs. I don't think an interrupt is asking too much either. Every other class has it, why shouldn't we? Looking at the lack of combat res up until 1.2 I think the merc was just underdeveloped. If you want additional evidence: we were the ONLY healing class without a combat res, and the ONLY class without an interrupt at launch. Also, pyro was clearly a bolt-on from PTs, and arsenal was always a sloppy, boring, underdeveloped 1-button tree.
  14. Do you have video evidence of this? The way you post in such a cocksure way saying you have "no problem" against healers, maras and PTs in 1v1s makes me think you play against bads. Good players of said classes dominate mercs.
  15. If you refuse to accept that imbalances exist in swtor, which you are basically doing because mercs are at the bottom of the pile at the moment, you are unconscionably naive. Mercs are not a L2P issue, they suck at the moment in terms of utility, defense, and for such a lack of these, they fall woefully short on dps. The fact you think they are the one of the closed (closest?) to a well put together class because it fits your play style shows how utterly subjective and therefore worthless your opinion is. It is the overwhelming majority, good/bad players and players of other classes that see mercs as broken for pvp and a free meal in WZs. The "adjust/L2P" people like yourself just sound ignorant, dumb or noobish to be honest.
  16. Arena would be a massive improvement.
  17. 5 reasons? 1. PvP is boring - no arena either 2. Class balance is terrible 3. BW just seem too slow in dealing with issues and never answer the community 4. Ranked PvP being pulled at the last minute 5. Friends are beginning to lose interest Though it hasn't affected me, the dead server issue is another reason I've decided to jump ship. People are dropping like flies because they have no one to play the game with so the situation snowballs. It seems ludicrous to leave it this late to do anything about server merging as it's a comparatively low hanging fruit compared to new content. It must be the best cost benefit move BW could make at the moment.
  18. It's 16% with each tick so it's still quite a high fail rate, especially if a merc doesn't have 100% ranged accuracy, which would be not perfect even if higher because of defense and shield rating as a white damage attack. Here's my take on the issue... The fact our proc has such a high fail rate means those of us who play it safe will always use IM as an opener for a dot to get our rotation going which doesn't add a snare but means we can start dpsing (also heat inefficient at 25). By this point, or even if you're spamming failed rapid shots (which is poor dps) to get a proc the gap is always being closed until it's too late and you're being snared or rooted yourself. The fact we have to split our decision between adding a 100% chance dot with IM to get our rotation going at 25 heat, or run the risk of a failed cgc proc over and over again means we are at a time disadvantage also. Most of us will always get our rotation going first. The obvious trade off is rapid shots is free and ranged at 30m, but as some of you will testify, this means nothing during the pressure of pvp. For the above mentioned reasons, PTs are unbelievably time/heat efficient by comparison. PTs have a 10 metre 100% cgc proc chance from an elemental damage ability (itself a 100% chance to hit with 100% damage). 10 metres is also plenty of room to successfully kite most melee classes and costs16 heat. Flame burst is not only instant and part of the main damage rotation, but also procs PPA, while we have to use power shot (again, a different ability meaning use economy of time is worse still as a merc). I don't care what anyone say about merc being simple to play, PT pyro is faceroll easy mode.
  19. Thanks OP. Luckily these only have a 1 minute cooldown which is only enough time for a mara to get nearly 4 of their rotations off.
  20. Snipers have roots as well as snares that are ranged, which is a big difference, and are immune to leaps/pulls. Mercs have 1 snare, and can spec for 2. Both are melee and largely ineffective.
  21. People keep raising this suggestion but there are NO abilities like that in swtor. Devs do not want it. Putting it on a 1.5 second cooldown would be the nearest thing. As for OP, I have posted about making power shot instant several times in the merc forum. No reads because the class is dead. I support the change.
  22. Ahh yes, good point to differentiate between tech and elemental/kinetic. Flame burst however is elemental so my point about the armour bypass still stands.
  23. My pyro merc is bitterly underpowered compared to my powertech. Take the rail-shot proccing moves which have no cooldown and similar-ish damage, for example: Merc A very interruptible 1.5s cast (so 3 seconds total until dealt) that is pushed back to hell unless spec'd (which limits our extra 10 points substantially), and affected by armour. Little to chance of cgc dot and snare to be applied. Powertech No cast and tech damage means not affected by armour, and low hanging traits mean this can get a crit chance increase of 9%. cgc dot is instantly applied along with a 2 second snare. That's equivalent damage over 1.5s with 100% dot chance and snare, no pushback, no interrupts Both skills cost 16 heat. There are other reasons as well, not least for the PTs ability to taunt, grapple and interrupt which make it way more useful. Once you're in the path of a PT pyro, as a merc, you're pretty much screwed.
