  1. I don't see your point - surely the guild that has wiped 20 times hasn't had as much reward. They have spent any 'reward' credits on repairs. The guild that does it with fewer deaths gets to keep those credits ........ As an aside that's also a bit elitest. There will be many occasions where a guild is wiping on a boss just because they can't get it right (and in some cases with no combat logs no means of seeing why but that's for a different thread!)
  2. Yeh we've cleared Bonethrasher already so know about that one but just wanted to check that one tank was enough for the entire instance before we got cracking on the rest of it. Would be nothing worse than hitting a block and someone having to drop out just for particular fight. Thanks for the reply
  3. This was similar to being allowed to trade in commendations for the next planet. They removed it as all that would have happened is everyone would have stored them all up til they hit 50 and that kind of defeated the object of why they are there in the first place.
  4. We downed Soa last night and whilst no problem with loot (yay!) we only had half the raid get their quests updated (booooo!)
  5. Just wondering if someone that has run through it could confirm how many tanks are needed (8man) for the fights please. Heading there Sunday night and obviously EV and Bonethrasher only needed 1 but dont want to hit a block if there is a fight that needs 2 Thanks in advance
  6. Yes much to my annoyance I hadn't had any real problems with ability delay - No real problems until this latest patch that is so goodness knows that they've done.
  7. Yeh we did the same with just me tanking last night. Had everyone go behind the left turret and nuke it down / adds before moving on to the other one. Easy peasy
  8. Personally I think it's rediculous that you don't get social points for running hard modes..... how is that not social?!
  9. Well in that case you will be very happy! As an immortal tank I find I am much more reliable on the dps to do their job correctly too (some sort of omen type threat meter would REALLY help juggy tanks imo but I know thats a contentious subject!) Against one or 2 mobs you'll be fine - even against 3 if they're close together - but - you will struggle to hold threat on more than 2 mobs - especially when they are spread out. I can see some having a hard time in pugs if i'm being honest. I've run every hm fp with my guild and some of the dps are getting pretty geared now. I do find that I can lose threat if I take my eye off my main target even for a few seconds. The threat lead you get is marginal at best. The Sith Entity bonus boss in FE for example is a proper pain in the rear end. He splits into 3 strong mobs a number of times throughout the course of the fight and it's just impossible to keep agro on them all as in order to beat enrage your dps need to be on them immediately. Don't get me wrong, as our healer said, they don't hit hard - but that's not the point. I shouldn't have to rely on CC against only 3 mobs. Also you'll find that you get knocked back - alot. Again, particularly a pain when you're working your backside off to keep a decent threat lead. You would have thought that as a juggernaut tank we would have something in our spec that protects us from this..... All that said, the juggy is a really fun tank to play and I certainly wont be changing any time soon.
  10. Yeh as the guy above me said, it's a different play style to other games you may have tanked in. Whereas before you were supposed to keep everything stuck to you, in this you really dont need to be too concerned if normals / silvers peel off you - sure you can taunt a silver back but at that point it's usually dead anyways. The trick is to keep the Golds and above on you - and if there's multiple you just need to shout at your dps to just focus fire them one at a time (and put Guard on your highest dps!! I started tanking hardmodes shortly after one of my guildies who already had some decent gear and was struggling to keep threat off him (was guarding the healer) - switching it to him made a huge difference). The main thing imo is that dps just need to learn to be a little calmer and not pew pew nuke nuke cos we're just not equipped to deal with it. Jug dmg and threat is still very very low. Be aware that you WILL lose threat - but you have 2 taunts - one on a 15 sec c/d and the other on a 30 sec (talented) - so use them
  11. Yeh Luka Sene is nuts this morning too. What I don't understand is when some servers already had queues they didn't anticipate this and temporarily stop new chars being created on them. All that's happened is all the people that weren't in early access who were desperate to make a start will have got cracking as soon as they came up - when all the servers were empty - so just making the problem worse. I know I for one would have put aside making an alt for a few days if it meant quicker access. This would only have to be a temporary measure just whilst the initial glut of new people join over the next few days as obviously guilds (mine included) have people that didnt preorder that want to join up. Whilst this wouldnt have stopped there being queues where there already were, it would have stopped them being worse.
  12. hehe what the guy above me said sft +drag. I had to ask in gchat about this too!!!!
  13. Yeh i'm level 31 now Immortal spec and haven't run into a fight yet I can't solo with my comp. (not including heroic areas). I always roll with Vette out as her dps rocks. Stick guard on her just in case but 9 times out of 10 I keep threat on everything after my initial burst as I can be sure she's targeting my main target (don't forget you can use ctrl +1,2,3,4 to set her abilities and who she attacks etc). The 3 defensive c/ds we have are great and if you use call the force you can actually use your barrier twice so we have 4 if you look at it that way. My dps alone is pretty shoddy, but i'm a tank so that's what I would expect. If I wanted to nuke things i'd have gone for a dps spec. Only tanked a couple of flashpoints but again these went pretty smooth so long as dps didn't go crazy and watched what they were attacking.
  14. Once everyone hits 50 potential 2k profit for a half hour mission really is not unbalanced. I took slicing whilst leveling as I knew it would help me to afford speeder skill / additional gear etc. So in that sense it is unbalanced (however everyone has the choice to take slicing so....) However I will be dropping it and replacing it with my proper mission skill soon enough as i'm pretty sure that certain purple crafting mats will go for more than 2k once the market gets going and there is a demand for them.
