  1. Yeah! go back to wow, just like anyone who wants skill bars, cause that's a wow thing too, or minimap. God these WoW newbs. seriously, the wow argument is the most bs thing said on any forum at any time by children who don't have anything worth saying. Just because something is in WoW doesn't mean blizzard did it first, or that a good idea should be crapped all over because wow has it too.
  2. wow, op kinda hit this one on the head. yeah, i do only play because it's star wars, and really what are my other options. We're kinda in a dark ages of MMOs right now. Sure there are 102934789571 MMOs out there, or so called MMOs, but most of them have less depth than pong. So what really are your other choices? wow with graphics from 1984, sto which is literally one single mission with different dressings? The list goes on and I can't name a single MMO that isn't either WoW or dying a painful horrible death because you have AAA titles that spent all their money on marketing or indie titles that have a playerbase of 50.
  3. this is definitely not the first thread complaining about this...but I have to agree. in a year at a monthly sub you are paying $180. since when have you seen a game on the shelf for $180....we're all kinda used to that in MMOs now but it still is a crazy amount of money for a game. So expansions for subscribers is definitely not too much to ask. Look at games like city of heroes that had constant expansions for free, not one expansion after several years that you had to buy.
  4. pvp is a side game in swtor. welcome aboard. I know I want pvp mmos too, i find pvp far more entertaining. But this game has never been advertised and will never be anything but a pve game. They've made it very clear that's what it is and pvp is just there for a distraction.
  5. i'm about to be one of those guys I hate who really has nothing to contribute but replies anyway.... I love when people use the word "unplayable" in mmos, cracks me up good.
  6. that's what I use mine for, is reactive. on my jugg character (which i haven't actually played in over a year) I would create a macro to trigger the attack you get right after you block, then trigger my regular attack. This way i could relax a bit and not be constantly trying to watch for blocks and mash the key in time. I just hit the same button I do for standard attack when I think i may have blocked and if i'm wrong and i can't retaliate it just does the regular attack instead.
  7. I know this was mentioned to be one of the things that was being talked about in a prior update but haven't heard anything since then and i don't see an option for it anywhere. But this is the one single thing that drives me nuts in swtor, i'm a button masher and especially playing a class like operative that has some melee and some ranged abilities with shiv sometimes hitting at weird distances my entire screen seems to always have red error messages all over it. same thing with my powertech who I try to rail shot repeatedly because sometimes in the heat of battle it's quicker to just hit the key then check to see if it's up. please please give an option to turn off the red error messages so i don't have to glare through them to see what's going on.
  8. I agree with this. This is the poster child for how not to do f2p. And I too realized it's really a subscription game with a more robust trial.
  9. merc healers can heal just fine. mercs who don't use a single heal aren't merc healers.
  10. you said, a bunch of stuff and cut up my post leaving parts out to try and make a point that you failed at. I said don't be a d-bag and queue for a role that you aren't going to play when others actually are trying to play that role. I don't see that as some huge argument for you to forum warrior over. don't be a d-bag is a pretty simple request. Mercs are the one class I see doing this more than anyone, anecdotal sure but anything anyone says on this forum is anecdotal. not once did I complain about mercs being bad healers, I know you would have something to get your panties in a bunch about if I did.....but no matter how much you wish that were the case I pointed out multiple times it's mercs who are not healing. say it with me one more time, are not healing.
  11. I think you're missing the point as well for lack of reading my post before responding. i never said merc is a bad healing class and sucks at healing. But if you want to get on the side of queueing for a role you aren't going to play then ok.... If someone chooses to play a dps i'm so sorry their queue times are longer, that's their choice. That doesn't make it ok to queue as a healer when you are not going to heal just to get quicker queue times because that's f-ing things up for people who do actually intend to heal. And as of yet I have not once been in a flashpoint with a merc who actually healed, if they do then by all means queue as a healer.
  12. good point on my phrasing, although I did state how i've never once seen a merc use a heal in a flashpoint, but I could have been more clear. I suspect though the first responder is one of those people who only read's thread titles and then gives their 2 cents.
  13. I see what you're saying about it not being deep at level 11, I think I didn't phrase that well. I don't mean like a deep plot, just characters that don't feel like they were written by a 2nd grader. Characters that have personalities which I have found a serious lack of on the republic side. I think i'll try the trooper then. I think swtor really boiled jedi down too much. In the movies even jedi have unique personalities. So far all the jedi I encountered in swtor are so cheesy and bland.
  14. on harbinger where I play it's about 1/3rd mercs, no joke. usually the fewest i see are powertech and both the agent classes as most have said.
  15. I want to play through with a republic character since I have one of every class on the empire side. I'm just having trouble finding one that the story isn't awful for. I've only played the republic classes up to level 11 each and hated every one. What's you recommendation for the best republic story? and because story is somewhat subjective, it isn't that i find being a bad guy better than a good guy, it's that I felt the empire characters had depth and the republic was 2 dimensional (as far as I've gotten.) The republic every quest is either the option to stop saving the galaxy and rescue every old ladies kitten from a tree being the universes butler or murder and eat the cat in front of her. Do any of the republic stories get some depth to them and some characters that are believable further into the story, or is it all childish writing and cheesy things no one would ever say or do?
