  1. I'm a huge sap, but I was so thrilled when Theron came back. My character even behaved despite the opportunity with Koth lol. And (I've played a bunch since my last post) while I'm a little disappointed that you can't use Theron in Star Fortress, it is a silver lining that the reason is because he is like guiding you through it.
  2. I'm pretty content with how Bioware has done this in all of the expansions. Yeah, it isn't perfect, and in an ideal world they would go back and retrofit 1-50, but still... the fact that they added various flirts/options/messages in all story stuff post-launch seems to indicate that they do care and they were listening. And I'll take it! That said... (some spoilers about end of chapter IX)
  3. Put simply - yep! This is exactly what I want! All of these changes are exactly what I want. More story, coming out episodically makes me excited for what is next. Streamlined 1-60 is finally compelling me to play the classes that I haven't. Level sync lets me play with friends who aren't the same level as me and still feel a slight challenge. There aren't any changes that they've made that aren't exactly what I want! That said - I'm a fan of Bioware's other games - and not so much other MMOs. I played the first Guild Wars excessively, although that was similar in that you could grab computer controlled companions and play through the campaign without really going through the normal MMO trappings, and I really enjoyed The Secret World. I loved the KOTOR games, and while I was initially skeptical of getting this instead of KOTOR 3, I feel like (especially with this new content) they have maybe put so much more story and content using this format than if they had released KOTOR 3 in 2011 instead. So I'm, perhaps, a unique player case. I was never into PVP or grinding or making alts, and despised the sort of "read this sentence then get 5 wolf pelts" personality-less feel of MMOs like WOW, where the lore is mostly through reading and not directly experienced. I remember my friends joking about how side quests in SWTOR you were still ultimately getting 5 wolf pelts but had to endure a 10 minute conversation about how someones child will die without them first - but I mean... that's ultimately what I want as a player lol.
  4. This thread is so dramatic and the title is ridiculous. For Bioware fans, KOTOR fans, Star Wars fans and casual players all these changes are great. Level sync means you can convince your friends to play and enjoy playing with them on your higher level characters, more story stuff is more in line with their initial premise, and the other changes won't have huge effects, etc. I'm looking forward to getting back into it.
  5. Just to check, there hasn't been anything concrete regarding SGR in KotFE yet? Other then that Lana is returning, and it would be strange for your (possibly female) character to have had something with her in SoR and then pretend like it didn't. Is Theron back? That might have the same implications for m/m stuff. I feel pretty good about it. They've had deliberately more diversity with flirts/romance in expansions so why would they stop now? That said, a little confirmation wouldn't hurt.
  6. I would imagine that an SGR thread is a very LGBT friendly biased place for discussion of Dorian. For LGBT people/allies - yeah, Dorian's story line was very familiar and tropey, possibly echoing many of our own experiences with our families, or the stories we've seen in TV and film for years. But I would think that for straight gamers, particularly ones who have had little to no experience with gay people, playing through Dorian's story, seeing how he is treated by his father, seeing the way it impacts him, etc. would be a really positive thing and something that they haven't seen before. Whether that sort of thing is desired by players on either side of the debate is a different question. I didn't mind it, and actually really liked that they gave him a story that dealt with his sexuality. More on topic: I think that works in a single player story driven experience. In an MMO I think generic playersexual is the way to go.
  7. While I appreciate the nuance and personality of the DA:I characters, I think there is something different in an MMORPG that alters what the best approach is. Because there are different companions for each class, and there are so many classes, different alignments, etc. AND because you generally spend more time in an MMO than in something that is a single player experience, (I mean, I've played the same two characters since launch... which was what, 4 years ago?) the best way to do this is to just have all the romance options playersexual. The messed up part of this whole thing (for both people who don't want SGR and the reluctance of the developers to do something significant about it like retrofit old companions as SGRs) is that it doesn't affect players who don't want SGR - they literally don't even have to know it exists.
  8. Despite that it wouldn't be spoilers, it is hugely frustrating that they can't confirm that there will be more developed same gender romances with companions in KotFE. Why is a simple yes or no so hard?
  9. I don't think anyone would object to that, but if they made Doc/Corso/Malavai suddenly bisexual (which I think would be great) I wouldn't be surprised if people were mad. Because, you know, even if they never SEE it, they would be bothered that the possibility existed lol.
  10. I really, really hope he is a companion and romance option. It would be great to have been able to sort of "plant the seeds" of that romance in SoR, and would avoid the pitfalls of people complaining about making existing companions bisexual. That said, I would really like to see some of the existing companions given "Kaidan moments" lol. Some would actually make a lot of sense: e.g. already ambiguously gay Talos Drellik. I was disappointed that they didn't full on confirm SGR in the steam last night :/ but fingers crossed.
  11. But is it naive to think that KotFE should give us... wait for it... "a new hope?"
  12. So is there any word as whether or not there will be SGR in KotFE? The flirts in everything post-RotHC, faction restricted "light" romances on Makeb, and playersexual Lana and Theron make me hopeful, but I'm always worried in the back of my mind that we'll be disappointed. Even though it is YEARS later, having genuine SGRs would be so great. *fingers crossed*
  13. The fact that YEARS later this is still a thread on the first page shows how important this STILL is to players. I think it is great that they seem to have been at least trying - SGRs on Makeb, and playersexual characters in Revan, not to mention male dancers in cantinas and a general lessening of the typical sexism. I too hope they will do more - SGR companions would be the end goal - but at least they are doing something.
  14. So all Imperial classes have access to M/M? I guess it is a good reason to make an Imp lol.
  15. Can anyone confirm- are there M/M and F/F options on both Republic and Imperial sides, or F/F is only Republic and M/M only Imperial? My character is a M sentinel, I will be bummed if he gets no love
  16. I think you are saying what everyone is thinking. If it's coming, why not just gives us a "it's still coming, sit tight." The silence only seems to indicate that they don't care, and it isn't coming. I'm just PRAYING that Bioware does include same gender relationships in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. After how amazingly same sex friendly ME3 was, I would have thought for sure DA3 would, but after the lack of it or communication about it now I'm worried.
  17. EDIT: nvm, I think I misunderstood your post lol! I don't think it's bluffing. I still log in once and awhile, and have my sub active, but truthfully I've been playing TSW and will be playing GW2 in a couple days... not only because they are LGBT inclusive, but that definitely plays a part. Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars, I love Bioware, and there is so much to love about SWTOR. But at the same time, it's hard to remain so passionate about something that denies that you exist. If all of the characters in the game were Caucasian would that be fair to non-Caucasian players? No. As it stands, all relationships implied or depicted in the game are straight... is that fair? No. How is it fair to say "good riddance" to those who just want to feel included in something that they are passionate about?
  18. All they have to say for me to be happy is "it's still coming, 100%." The fact that they won't even say that now sort of worries me. What do they have to lose by just reassuring fans that it's still on the way, without any details?
  19. This is how I feel as well. Especially with TSW and GW2 being more LGBT inclusive. *sadness*
  20. That's amazing! I had only made male human characters in the beta weekends, could you provide some detail around the m/m quest you mentioned? Are there any YouTube videos or articles about it? As far as SWTOR, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, but I'd agree with this post. Both my boyfriend and I are getting into The Secret World now, which doesn't have any sort of romance or companion system but which (apparently like Guild Wars 2) features canonical gay and lesbian NPCs and a fluid sense of sexual identity (e.g. the opening Dragon scene implies sexuality with a female even as a female player, and male and female Templars hit on anyone regardless of gender.) I'm hoping Bioware gives some sort of an update soon, as I'd really love to see them make good on their word.
  21. Obvs spoilers for ME3, but video: With a new character: With an imported character (epic:) "Guess I'm just choosy... or patient..." lol
  22. Thank you for your kind welcome! I'm glad Bioware is commited to it even if there isn't a specific time frame.
  23. I know I'm going to get slapped for even asking, but there isn't a time frame yet is there? All that ME3 Kaidan loving reminded me of my poor SWTOR toons lack of same sex loving!
