  1. On my Twi'lek I dont get the hood showing at all, and I'd LOVE to see the hood...... Granted not sure where her lekku would fit.... but I'd love the option at times....
  2. I've been a primary healer since the launch of EQ back in 1999 and you pretty much nailed every point I've made clear to my groups since then. I've been doing raid healing in Rift for about 9 months now, and to take a small break I took a DPS class in SWtOR, but I expect I'll be making another healer if they patch up some bugs and make it worth keeping my sub going. Great post.
  3. If they fix the horrible abortion that is the AH interface I'd use it more than I do now, which is hardly ever. It's pretty scary when a game like Rift has what I think is a far better AH than SWtOR. In Rift, I can click on an item in my bag to search the AH for more of that item to compare prices to see if I want to sell mine or buy more. SWtOR? Nope. In Rift I can simply search by name if I don't know which subcategory something belongs to. SWtOR? Nope. In Rift I can check a box for "usable", click "Search" with no other information, and it will only show me all items that I can currently use, presorted for level and class. SWtOR? Nope. It feels clunky, it doesn't sort properly on the first header click usually, and you damn well better know which sub-category certain things are in if you want to search for them. (This is a nightmare when you haven't memorized what resources are found with what skills yet). It just doesn't cater to the new player at all. Like most of the UI, it needs help, badly, and I'm hoping it's part of the UI overhaul they mentioned they were working on.
  4. Pretty sure you only get like 30% or so of the effectiveness of the dmg of the secondary blaster or something like that. I thought it listed the dmg range for each blaster on the stat screen, and the offhand is substantially lower. So yes, higher dmg numbers would matter if thats the case, along with the better stats on the weapon giving a considerable bonus as well. Not sure if there is a skill that boosts the effectiveness, if so I'd expect it to be pretty high up in the tree.
  5. No surprise there, esp if they are copying other site's with older info. Just glad to know the current status before gettting in and investing time/money to do it. The more I think about it though, I may do the Slicing/Investigation/Treasure Hunting thing on my main to feed credits to alts who will do the actual crafting work. May not be able to buy everything with money, but for most things I think it would work out on in the long run.
  6. Thanks for the information. I do wonder then why other people show UT instead of Dip. Maybe one did it by mistake and other people copied it? I guess it wouldnt be the first time wrong information spread like wildfire on the internet. Again, my thanks.
  7. I had been thinking of going this route myself, but other places I've seen descriptions for doing the Biochem thing have Underworld Trading in place of Diplomacy. Is either one really better/worse than the other? Pro's and Con's of each? Appreciate the post, as it helps those of us who barely got to dabble in crafting in the beta.
  8. Those who live and die by drinking the George Lucas Kool-Aid are going to play even if they have to wait another month. (see Triumph the insult comic dog video on Star Wars to see what I mean). "Joe Average" who might be looking to pick up a new game without being a die-hard fan of Star Wars however might see all the negative PR being tossed around at the moment and decide he's better of with some other game. This to me would be a shame, as there are plenty of good players out there who didn't follow the development of this game from day 1 and aren't fanatics. Time will tell really. I don't recall any other MMO launch doing their "early access" like this and so far, EA/BW are taking plenty of heat for avoiding giving people a factual answer so they can plan for being able to play. If they at least sorted all the pre-orders into relatively even groups and assigned each group a day and posted a list, then people could plan and it would make plenty a lot happier I think.
