  1. People understand that this is the whole POINT of pre ordering, right? The more people who pre-order and the earlier they do it, the more servers a company can have ready on launch since they'll a better idea the demand.

This is why any of you that pre-ordered in December complaining about not getting early access are fools. You're pre-order came too late to help Bioware judge how many servers they needed.

If you expect to pre-order at the last minute, and get in early access immediately, and not have long queues you're kidding your selves. the only ones I feel bad for are the ones who ordered early and are stuck in those queues created by the late comers.

  2. My thinking is that there are a lot of people in those last 8 days. People who waited until the last minute, like me. Just like the mass of pre-orders in the first waves, those 8 days may hold many players.

Pre-order rates do tend to increase drastically in the last weeks before launch. Lacking information on the number of digital orders, it's impossible to know.

  3. It's not that at all. Most humans have a sense of fair play. With words like UP TO and MAY people feel their getting the short end. This world is all about unfairness and to see it extended to a game like this blows people away.

I still feel bioware completely blew it and the Exec's who decided on this staggered launch are white collar noobs with no pulse of the community.

You want to know what's fair? Game companies do Pre-orders to begin with to allow them to judge interest in the game and make sure they have enough product on launch. The sooner they know, the less money they waist rushing at the end by under anticipating demand, or waist with too much product for over anticipated demand.

In short. Those of us who pre-ordered months ago actually provided a service to Bioware in determining their pre launch numbers. That, as a matter of fact, is also a service to you late comers because it means they had enough warning to have the servers they needed.

As a result, Bioware is giving the people who ordered earliest, the people who helped them the most, a day or two of extra time. A day or two that will make NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL in two weeks.

No top of that. All this B******* you're doing is preemptive, because the 15th is to-f******-morrow!

  4. Well... Face it.

I just picked up my order of the game on the 10th and input my early access code on that day. Now Im looking at all this and asking myself... Why did I ever think that a gaming company would actually live up to their promises?? I've never seen a company actually come thru with what they've promised. Wether it be early access or whatever.

Basically... Im never getting in until actual release on the 20th. Thanks alot for nothing.

Not true, if they keep the same rate as today (They could increase it) they should get all of November tomorrow, meaning you'd probably get in on Friday or Saturday.

But if you want to be doom and gloom because you were late to the party, that's always and option too.

  5. Hey all, redeemed my code in 11/26 here. As many people are saying, there was a huge spike in mid-late November.

What are the odds the all the November orders will get in tomorrow?!

    Keeping fingers crossed!

They should be getting all of November in tomorrow if they keep the same rate they had today. If they ramp up the invites, they may get December in too.

  6. That's a shame really. I was hoping Warzones would be sectioned off. So levels 10-19, 20-29 and so on would battle against each other. What a shame, was really excited for PvP as well. Guess I'll be sticking to PvP.

They do match levels as much as they can, but if there's no one playing in a certain level range, rather than waiting an hour to play, you get bolstered and put into a different level range.

  7. hmmm so i'm guessing or hoping the servers on the 20th go live at 8AM CST as well and not midnight because i was told id get 120hours(5days) early access and not be cheated 8 hours or so only getting 4 and half hours QQ

Save it for tomorrow chief, today is the 14th.

Anyways, the trends are pointing to even December people getting in by friday.

  8. It is funny to see the same people defend bw. And see more and more people complain. I don’t care I pre order my game to so I would have ce.

I would like to play but I will get in tomorrow. But if they made the so public and so out there on the front page of forums why is there 1000 of people saying what the hell. But I guess that many people have to be wrong and the few people how over and over again show up in deferent post defending bw. Making two our more post in same treed just to say the same thing is funny

I hope the fan boys are this funny in game so in 6 mouths when this game slows down I will have some one to lol at. SO PEOPLE STOP CRAYING ABOOUT NOT GEETING IN GAME AND FANBOYS STOP DEFENDING BW. THERE IS BLAME ON BOUTH SIDES.

In essence, you're asking people not to post on the forums at all.

  9. Not going to lie, this kind of has me worried. So, what you're saying is when I get into the game and decide I want to queue PVP until there are enough people queued for an actual match, that we'll get treated as if we're expoiting?

So in other words... don't queue any PVP until there are enough people queueing PVP? The logic of that just doesn't make sense.

I get that there needs to be some way to prevent people from exploiting the system - but how are you guys going to determine if someone is trying to exploit the system or legitimately play a match? It seems to me that the best solution is to just remove or reduce the rewards for matches ending early... but maybe that's just the dev in me thinking too hard.

Did you also see his follow up?

Hey all - while we have no definitive update on this yet (that'll come tomorrow, I hope, after our investigation concludes) I did want to point out one important thing.

There have been some suggestions of characters running around on servers in the 30-40 range today. We have the metrics here, and the highest level character as of 30 minutes ago is considerably lower level than that.

Again, we take this seriously, and we're looking to see if this is an exploit that we need to rectify - but don't let rumor and speculation run too rampant.

    Seems like it's a non-issue.

  10. you didn't PAY a pre-order fee. You deposited 25$ towards the game, giving more of a promise that if they order that collectors edition, you will pay for the full amount and not just collect the money back. Which you have the right to do! because a pre-order is not a purchase. If you got it from origin, you did not pay 75$ for the game and an extra 5$ for the pre-order. The game IS 80$ and the 5$ is only the PRE-ORDER deposit TOWARDS the game!

even if many pre-orders arent picked up. Most companies still make money off of them because either people never collect the money back or pick up the game. Also, the money sits in a bank collecting interest on their end. 5$x1million pre-orders? that could be a good chunk of change.

I know, I wasn't complaining, I was pointing out to these people freaking out over $5 that I payed 5x more than them for, what they say, is the same access time.

  11. Actually, allot advertisement said 5 day Early Access, NOT may get up to 5 days. EA/Bioware is trending a fine line between outright fraud and false advertising.

"Pre-Order Star Wars: The Old Republic and get early game access and a color stone to change your weapon effect. A one-time use code for early game access and color stone will be sent to you via email after you have completed your purchase. Limit one code per customer. Codes tied to canceled orders will be deactivated. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last."

Where does this add say up to 5 days? No Where!! Early Access is early access, I bet EA/Biowares lawyers said....Well, one day is early access, but what good is one day to a MMO game?? None... So many customers assumed that it meant from Dec. 15th to launch like 99% of MMOs... This is what in retail scams is called bait and switch, which is what they did. They also gave the impression that the color stone was to allow you to change the weapon effect to any color, not just Yellow/Black.

Early access is early access. Your assumptions mean nothing to me. Also, today is the 14th, save your QQing for tomorrow.
