I honestly can't decide what's worse, the fact it's been nearly 24 hours on a weekday without ANYONE from Bioware noticing or even acknowledging the GSF queue is broken on one of the two U.S. servers...OR...the fact that people care so little about gsf that there is one post in the bug forum with a whopping four responses. Yes, myself and plenty of others filed bug reports. Anyone on Satele Shan can attest that it has been talked about in gen chat a hundred times on the fleet today. I'm perfectly good with waiting until it gets fixed, bugs happen. Just seems like you guys don't care or even play your own game to notice when things like this happen unless it affects the Cartel market.
  2. Just reporting same thing here. I just had the message "codex entry 90,91,92,93" in chat display but definitely no increase in stats nor a codex entry.

  4. To each their own but in my opinion, if your goal is to straight up blast through levels doing anything other than KDY with boosts is a waste of time. For strictly leveling purposes nothing in-game even comes CLOSE to KDY atm. Not sure what your character situation is but assuming you have the credits, my advice would be to take those 3 or 4 characters, buy the flashpoint legacy xp perks (30%) for each, make sure each character is in a guild for the 10% bonus, have rested XP on each AND the major xp boost. A SINGLE KDY run, especially with those levels under 35 should net you nearly 2 levels PER RUN. You aren't going to find any other method in-game atm as effective honestly.
  5. There has been some tension by some on these forums lately regarding the lack of a vision statement for 2014...well...I won't keep you in suspense any longer!! If I steel some of your thunder Bioware my apologies!! You guys there in the Austin office can feel secure there IS NOT a leak....or IS there? joking of course...relax.. These are in no particular order (though some will certainly come LATE in 2014) 1.) A QOL adjustment, most likely around 2.7-2.8 allowing the ability to queue for both GSF AND WZ simultaneously... 2.) GSF skins of our class ships-look for these around late summer... 3.) Legacy wide GSF comms-this will NOT come before #1 due to being a bit more complicated to implement.. 4.) A new huttball WZ set in Quesh... 5.) TWO new Arenas... 6.) A new 55 hard mode of False Emperor (though they may ultimately decide on Directive 7).. 7.) TWO new GSF maps with different rule settings(one of which will be last ship standing) Now...so far..not bad(especially if you dig GSF) but not GREAT right? It's toward late summer/early fall through the end of the year that we start getting the heavy hitters... 8.) Ship Decoration-WOOOHOO....NO!! Calm down!!..It will NOT be player housing per say..it will be items sold via the cartel market/legacy unlocks for some for items that can be placed in PREDETERMINED locations in your ship just like the target dummy, mailbox, GTN kiosk ect. 9.) New player Race-THE VOSS purchased via the cartel market..(sorry Togruta fans..the clipping issues are not going to make it worthwhile) 10.) A new companion(faction neutral and obtained similar to Treek) 11.) At least the START of SWTOR's version of an epic weapon OR armor set(not both) quest which involves the mysterious ancient tome on tatooine...now..why I say the "START" is because it ties directly into #12 12.) Yavin IV-this will be roughly the same scale as Makeb in both size and story. The mysterious ancient tome's origins involve much of the sith/jedi lore from Yavin IV. This planet will also bring with it #13,#14,#15--a new OP, FP, and daily area respectively that are all tied to Yavin IV. Yavin IV WILL NOT see a level increase if they manage to hit the 2014 target date/will be march 2015 if they go with a 5 level increase. *Note: Things you will NOT see in 2014 are as follows-Class specific story continuation, A new class, any sort of instanced player housing not mentioned in #8, Legacy wide datacrons, mini games such as pazaak or swoop races, cross server queues
  6. Much appreciated guys thx! As I eluded to in my original post I figured it had as much to do with improving my play as anything else. Definitely relieved to see that it wasn't some sort of mechanical issue or limitation strictly based on the class or specc! The guide I'll def be referring to often..well done!
  7. Something that has really been bothering me lately is the amount of protection I put up...or lack thereof I should say. I've primarily been dps on my PT since the beginning so I admit the comfort and skill with the ST specc isn't nearly what it could be. All that said, despite taunting non stop, switching guard as needed ect. I am nearly ALWAYS out performed on protection by Juggs...sometimes as much as 150k. Jugg is basically the only class I have not played to at least conqueror so I'm curious as to whether or not it's just an issue of improving or is it that the mechanics of the jugg class make it easier to protect? Any advice would be much appreciated...very depressing hovering around 160 prot in a wz while the jugg is at or over 300k By the way, the intent of this post is not to QQ about Juggs being op or any nonsense like that. Just happens to be that is the one class in pvp I have rarely played so wasn't sure if it's a mechanical issue that is letting them excel or just a "learn to improve and play better issue" on my part.   8. Unfortunately missile blast is as good as it's ever going to get most likely. Can you imagine the outcry if the devs increased it's damage even leaving the heat cost as is? It probably still wouldn't get thrown into a rotation due to the heat and there would be major QQ about having such a high damage ability to spam on the run. As eluded to earlier by posters above me I would assume they just take it out entirely or leave it as is to avoid an inevitable nerf that would follow.
  9. I would say without a doubt NO...you eluded to the smaller environment...that is the issue...let me ask you what happens in 8 v 8 wz when you aren't "left alone"? When you are focused on by even 2 opponents....yep..you're shredded in seconds. The fact that people are STILL able to seemingly vanish at will against our net combined with the Arena tactic 101 to burn down the easiest target first leaves us as a bit of a liability imo....against bad teams..sure..maybe..but against even half way competent players there is no way Arsenal will be desirable....if we had a true disengage then I can see it but the problem remains....in 4 v 4 Arena there is nowhere to hide...no chaos to take advantage of while we just sit back and pew pew.....just my opinion of course...

Realize and Care are two completely different things.....As a PT I'm the last person to discuss perception but honestly, at this point it is all but impossible for them to not realize...they just don't care. Hell..you're still here..I'm still here right? Despite all of the horrible decisions they have made since launch, here we are. Besides...if they actually CARED they wouldn't say "meh..we know there are balancing issues but we're not going to worry about it till 2.5 or 2.6" which is MONTHS after Arena's....just long enough for anyone NOT playing an optimal Arena class to not care themselves by the time balance issues are worked out....assuming they are still playing at all

  12. The ability to use ONE of our legacy abilities ONCE per WZ would be a blast and might inject a bit more fun/danger/uncertainty into WZ. Notice I'm saying Warzones not Arena and only ONE of our legacy abilities not each one of them. The sorc bubbled up, zooming through the fire ready to score in hutball and with everything on CD maybe the smuggler uses his legacy force choak to prevent the score allowing the guardian to force push the sorc off the ledge. That's just one example....with Ranked WZ going away honestly what could it hurt? Before anyone says it I'll just go ahead and say "but..but..what if half the team or ALL the team uses their orbital strike at once to defend in voidstar?" My response...how is that any different than several sorcs using lightning storm ect...the difference is the team could only do that ONCE per wz.....this would also tend to give a measure of meaning to legacy level albeit a small one

Just wanted to drop in and give credit where credit is due......As a powertech I have perception problems but THIS...this little slice of...of....beautiful art....has certainly altered my perception. I can only hope once it gets aound the bioware offices it makes them feel as stupid as the responses they gave made them look.... *sincere bow

    Well...I'm not going to get into the right or wrong way to heal yourself to full or to make them pay for trying to kill you...myself, along with my other PT brethren have our own perception problems to worry about right now....
  15. Well..my main is a PT so I know full well WE ALL have a perception problem. Once they cracked the case and revealed the problem was my perception, the next step was all about solutions. You simply have 3 choices not in any particular order of epic win.. 1.) L2P 2.) make them pay for trying to kill you.. 3.) Heal to full.... That is all...mind blown?..it should be...
  16. The response to garbage stats on gear is absolutely priceless! It's essentially the EXACT SAME response they gave some of us when asked why they took color match out during mid beta before launch. "we feel that it will encourage players to seek out new and exciting gear" lmao sound familiar?! How lazy...
  17. Honestly, as most all of us have done since the beginning I'm just going to roll with it. Nothing in their response to any question was a surprise at all....AT...ALL. The only response that bothers me is pushing Arena live with 2.4 when they acknowledge balance issues that will not be addressed for MONTHS after 2.4. To be honest I'm not sure which decision will prove to be a bigger fail when we look back down the road...the ignoring of class balance untill several patches AFTER 2.4 or James Ohlen's directorial decision to not include a LFG finder at launch because "we don't need it" and "even without cross servers it will just hurt the community" then later trying to imply the only reason we didn't have it at launch was they ran out of time.....only time will tell I guess...
  18. I'm not big on arguing down other people's opinions honestly. Never said my opinion has any more validity than yours. You don't like the race analogy that's fine You seem awfully fixated on the "time saving" aspect and considerably less so on the "advantage" aspect which is fine too. If we were to do a FP run together and you upgraded your gear in the manner i have mentioned before strictly with credits you got from selling your cartel market items I would LOVE for you to explain how you didn't buy an advantage over me for that FP.

Maybe enhance it a bit with more fighter classes to choose from and perhaps a set of skills or something to give it a bit more customization." You said this right? "MANY of us hoped for..." WE DID?!
  20. I think Kilora brings up some fair points..but I also think p2p/p2save time is just semantics honestly. If a couple of friends literally only have an hour a day to play swtor together, one drops the cash on the cartel market allowing him/her the funds to significantly upgrade their gear and the other doesn't...well...that's most certainly an in game advantage that they bought via the cartel market that their friend could play 3 or 4 months without. All just because of money spent on the market. I absolutely agree that eventually the friend could catch up without spending a dime...but does that negate the distinct advantage in game that entire time? That's like saying we're in a cross country race coast to coast. We both start with some old 18 wheelers...after the first day the race is close...but then you decide.."you know..i'm going to spend some money on this market..take what i got and resale it and get me a ferarri with the money!" Just because I will EVENTUALLY arrive on the other coast Looooong after you doesn't change the fact that entire time you had a distinct advantage simply because you shopped at that market and that allowed you to significantly upgrade your ride where as i couldn't...but hey..you only had the advantage you bought for a long time...I'll get to the same place...eventually...

Not sure what you are confused about honestly.....in no way did I say "the vision we all hoped for was the JTLS remix" You're correct, all of us had very different visions of space we were/are hoping for. What i was getting at was that the end result will probably not be exactly what we wanted or were expecting.
  22. RTCBrad does bring up a very interesting point. While I'm well aware that bioware really doesn't have much control over the market value of certain items on the gtn OR what people are willing to spend on them credit wise, they DO have control on whether or not to allow packs to be sold between players in the first place. Case and point, say I have a ton of coins saved up but my friend doesn't...we're both lvl 55, have 500k credits each, same class and both in...let's say identical plain old campaign gear... Are you seriously going to act like having the ability to pay/purchase packs and resell all of them them for millions and millions of credits allowing me to buy all top end crafted gear on the gtn isn't essentially p2w? Meanwhile, my pal is stuck with his 500k credits and good old campaign gear. True I didn't buy that top end gear directly from the cartel market but what i DID buy from it allowed me millions upon millions of credits to essentially upgrade my gear in dramatic fashion by doing nothing more than putting my credit card down so to speak and clicking a few buttons on the gtn. In that scenario am i a better player? Do I know my class or the content better than my pal? Nope...but i sure was able to buy stuff on the market that allowed me to rock this sweet new gear...
  23. While not the most original angle I'd like to see them go "Empire strikes back" for chapter 5. Essentially, Darth Marr has officially decided to take up the throne despite his initial reservations. Marr brokers a deal with the remaining dread masters where in exchange for them lending their power to the military might of the Empire he will let them have free reign to shape the galaxy as the see fit. The tide of the war turns for the empire and it gives both the republic and Imperial players the common enemy. The republic in that the war will be lost with the remaining dread masters personally in control of the Empire's military forces and the Imperial players are tasked with destroying them as well now that the tide has turned Marr feels they have become expendable.
  24. Atramar you could very well be right.....most likely are given the scenario you gave. I wonder though if we are ALL wrong about this. We are assuming the arena will be character based when it could very well be small scale pvp space based. The datamined info they took down the other day mentioned pvp space specifically and mentioned light/med/heavy fighters and what sounded like a new area of space rather than a planet. Given the cartel market priority imagine the income possibilities for them to offer new skins for your fighter, ship component packs ect. Forgive me if i just didn't see it but did the devs ever specifically state that the Arena is going to be character based?
  25. While I completely agree that Arena is better than nothing...do I really need to tell you how this story is going to play out? I think for the most part we can all pretty much agree that the devs have found class balance in WZ to be...challenging for them to say the least. How well do you think they will handle having to balance classes in a much smaller 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4 setting while at the same time not completely wrecking pvp balance in WZ? Honestly I'm worried that unless they pretty much decide to NOT make Arena balance the priority (never gonna happen) I worry the pendulum will swing to the extreme opposite and we will essentially have the choice of doing Arena or nothing because nobody will queue for WZ any longer..
