RARE makes some people go nuts for something that realistically isn't worth jack. I wanted a Silver lightsaber like I had in KOTOR, or a black one like in TFU, simply because I thought they were cool. Before playing this game, I would have assumed yellow and purple would be common like the big 3. I wouldn't have expected so many colors, all being exclusive and hard to obtain.

I've had same issue in trying to get purple Shields. But I have had 2:2 luck on turning some green Color Crystal recipes into blue then purple. So maybe certain items are harder to produce desired results?

Man, I really can't wait to find out a sure way to get one. I can't wait to finally get a crystal other than red/yellow/orange for my Sith!

I had wondered this myself. It was weird, I find the guy with no problem. I go back, and he's ghost. I thought 10cr was a STEAL for a replacement, as I had moved my original for 277cr twice already. I have 2, currently in employ of my companions dual blasters. But one can't have too many "Limited" items. The fact that its stats quickly become obsolete, since it doesn't scale with the player, makes it just useful for showing off anyway.
