  1. I don't get why it matters weather or not Illium gives you daily kills. It is only discouraging to me cause it lags so bad and pubs are almost never out. But if we compare this game to DAOC, then people should just head out to the "frontier" cause it was the best thing to do at end game. Not much of a incentive back in the days of early DaoC and there was lots of participation, merely killing the other factions was fun enough. Well I guess the 20% buff, but that was so you could kill faster... cause who really PvEed that much at level 50.
  2. Ilum was a great idea, but it was to be exploited since the first guys set foot on that planet.

BW however tried to fix it and made it even worse, it's been a lagfest where 40 Imps camp mid to get their dailies done and 20 Reps try to bet a tiny bite offa that cake.

One wrong move and 20 Sorces start spamming their AoE crap on you and your teammates.

Nowadays on the majority of EU-servers Ilum is dead for the most part, Emps still rule mid - they now just use it to farm their twinks.

If they don't spread the crates to different locations Ilum will be nothing but a farmplanet for Imps.

Roll an Imp on that server, get to 50, and tell me how middle farming goes for you with 40+ other imperials there. Yeah, Imperials love it when no pubs go to challenge them for central.

I get so bored at Central that I just roam around solo looking for kills, and this is on an even popped server. The instant a sizable Pub army forms everyone minus the people who's computer can't handle the lag runs to fight.

  3. One more of these?

takes no time to get competitive

First day of 50 you can potentially get 14 bags. That's 91 Champ comms and 210 Cent Comms. That's all 5 Piece Tier set of Cent. By the time you get a Champion weapon you should have every piece of cent gear.

This is worst luck scenario and you didn't get a single champ token.

You're right, it takes weeks to get geared up.

  4. instead of sitting in your base trying to pull people in go out and take the objectives and kill the stray imperials

This actually works pretty well, even on a even popped server. But often times I would see 50-64 pop on illium and a group of reds in the base. I assume they have equal or near equal amount of people and they still hover in their base. I understand the larger group will win in open combat. But we're at your base already, it takes you 2 secs to get back into the fray. Grow a pair and come at us. Unless its one of the better PvP guild in the mix who is leading the pubs some times even when they outnumber us, they stay inside. It frustrates me to no end.

  5. Hmmm My Sorc just dinged 50, but I plan to shelf her. Not really that OP sorry, if I ran into a WZ with 4+ of them I instantly realize it's going to be a long fight, but that is just the same if I ran into a WZ with 4 vanguard/mercs who are heal specced.

Since ATM some people think PT are powerful, I will just say that my Jugger who is only in cent gear and effectively fight a sorc and not just get obliterated by them. In fact equally geared I make them run. In the rare chance I have to get to fight them 1v1. I generally take the upper hand.

Just because you rage and can't use your abilities properly doesn't mean Sorcs/sages are OP'd.

  6. As much as I am for xserver PvP, the only thing it might alleviate is for low pop servers to have more up time on PvP. It will not effect your huttball games, as Imperials outnumber Pubs on almost every server. Cross server PvP will however ensure the balanced servers will now also have much more Imperial only huttball games.

Share the wealth, I'm still down for xserver PvP.

  7. Just to ensure proper information gets out there.

With Explosive Fuel, Power Adrenal, Power Trinket: (So basically every 3 minutes)

    Pre-Surge Crit (Max for me):

Note: My Gear and Mods/Enhancements as a whole is not what I'll presume, most of the Powertech community is using. Not to mention this is entirely based on Cooldowns. Not to also mention we are the squishiest pure DPS Class out there. Also note, even with all those items/procs/skills used achieving that high end post-surge crit is beyond rare. I've done it twice? I think since the nerf

Those numbers are reasonable, even the 6099 pre surge. Watching the video, that was a fresh 50, and no doubt in really crappy leveling gear (his HP was under 12k). But if we are purely talking about fully geared players vs ungeared, I think many other classes can pull those numbers as well.

  8. Healing is already reduced in combat in warzones by 30% as well.

Pretty much my thought, the trauma debuff makes healing hard to start with, expertise is suppose to slowly reduce this, even at 650 expertise you are still suffering from 18% healing decrease. Healers while hard to kill they are not impossible to control while you kill their teammates, burst control by lining up your burst helps greatly.

But if you are just playing in pugs against a premade, well that's a whole different set of problem. If you are not playing and competitively planning, then you have no room to complain.

  9. Funny you guys post the classes that are moat fun are all the ranged shooting classes. They are open at 10-49. Anygame you go to there's always a merchant or commando that's top damage in the game with hardly trying at all. They need to rescale the braket to be more fitting.

Well if we are talking about 10-49 when optimal gearing is a hindsight then you are right. But when you have the Melee in the gear attaining ranges (20 and 40) or someone who is twinking (level appropriate gear) the melee classes scale much better with gear. Maras and Sins can decimate people in no time. Juggs can too, but they are one of the best control class when played properly.

However in lower level brackets when people only care for pew pew and it's basically a race to see who beats the other guys face in first, the easy route is always a range class. I'll say my favorite class to play 10-49 is my Jugg though.

  10. ***

Little casual pve-boy who played some alliancebattles against other noobs talking to a competitive GvG-Player, how funny. Maybe your grandmother with a table tennis in her garden wants to go over to china and explain the game to them?

Elite Armour? You know elite armours in GW have exact the same stats as normal armour? There is no *********** difference! Everybody has acces to the best weapons, armour and upgrades in GW, there isn't any gearprogression in GW, not in PvP and not even in PvE, your elitearmour just looks different... It is not the devs fault if you equip a shield with bonus against firedmg while the opposingteam runs a watermage or you give your weapon an upgrade for bonus dmg while enchanted without anybody in your team has any longlasting enchants for you. You are not gimped because the opponents grinded more than you, you are gimped because you're a gimp.

In GW2 you have unlocked every skill, the best weapons and armors, the best upgrades of any kind and you are automatically lvl 80 when you enter structured pvp. There is nobody with any gearadvantage and there never will be. That is a fact, don't buy the game if gearprogression and beating newbies with OP-Gear is what you need to be happy. Your stats in your character sheet will never progress in any kind, ever.

If GW is so great, why did you stop playing it for another game, then complained about it? GW has it's little niche, if you want a GW type game, go play GW. Don't come into a new game and asking for the samething they have in another.

Just for the record, people who keep bringing up RL sports and saying its a game of skill. Those more skilled use team work to win, which you can do in SWTOR, single or team sports those players also "grinded" not only to improve their skill (reaction time, experience, anticipation) but also they grind ot be better equiped (muscles, flexibility, endurance). Everything in RL sports and competition translate over, brand new mediocre players will be brand new. Just because you were awesome at table tennis, don't expect to be awesome at tennis, they might look similar, but its not the same. And if you think you can win using a ****** tennis racket and play in your old sneakers against someone who has the money to buy the proper gear, then you're a bigger fool than I thought.

  11. No, It must continue to live!

I cannot sit idle whilst clowns like Torleen continue to cry "its not fair! Im uber skilled!"

By now people should have like 4 character with full BM. If not then they are doing something wrong!

And if everyone is running around in full champ/BM then it does all come down to skill. Which means if you are STILL LOSING then you dont have half as much skill as you claim you do!

And if you arent geared up yet... Then there is something truely wrong with you.

Ummm, how aobut people who actually work irl for a living? I understand the argument but when you go out and say such things it only damages your argument. I am all for gearing up, but 4 fully BMed character? Doubt it.

Ether way you don't need full BM gear to be competitive, if all the skill capped players are saying they only reason they are losing is cause these noobs are running in BM gear then they should be able to bash them down with thier champ gear, which is much much much easier to obtain, and is only about 2% off from BM(which is questionable since mods from champ gear is better in most cases).

But I guess the skill capped players here can't close that 2% gap, since it's such a wide margin.

  12. And I haven't died 1v1 to a single pesky troopah that's tried to jump my Operative while in Ilum, not one.

Obviously the Operative you're talking about sucked. All he had to do was vanish and run away if he got behind on hp. Operatives have the luxury of resetting fights, something you obviously don't have.

It's alright, when going against Ops/Sins, I save my second TD for when they are low on health once I can line up my 2nd/3rd burst. Set up for the busrt, TD, burst, they vanish, look around for a few seconds, TD goes off, takes them out of stealth, clean up.

Though I agree, full pyro in IGC is 2nd best 1v1, Geared Mara/Sents are still top.

  13. I see other videos of PT's/Vanguards hitting this hard, i'm in Cent gear with a Champ rifle, and my crits are more like 2.5k with the lucky 3k on an un-geared 50....does full Champ/BM really provide that big of a boost?

I didn't see the date on that video (nor watched it) but if they are hitting those numbers that must be it was from post surge nerf. You also have to look at your spec, and what he posted is correct, in the right circumstances Pyro's do mad amount of damage, but they lack any realy utility other class have. So if you are in a situation where you have to 1v1 a PT and you're not a marauder, you might want to use those utility to run away.

Against Ungeared(no PvP gear with maybe 1-3 cent gear) I hit 4.2k max on my RS crit, 4.6k max on my TD. In the condition that I can TD > IM > RS > RP with all crit, I do get a chub and grows fully if my RP resets mt RS and I get another RS crit off. At this point if they are still alive I just throw a fee FB down. Which actualyl doesn't happen all the time, in fact it's rather rare.

  14. Not sure what the OP is trying to accomplish?

At level 10 you still consider you a baseline class, you don't have any unique abilities that most people on this forum cry about when they talk about Mercs being OPed. Sorry to say but when I dinged 10 on my BH I was happy to see her doing 240k damage her first game too, spamming my basic attack and that rocket abilty I can't even remember the name too because I stopped using it.

    Yeah... real awesome.

  15. With rank 70 i have to say that after nefr operatives are joke. Of course they are annoying because they seems to stun with every shot but they used to open with 4K+ dmg now its hardly 2,5K.

So basicaly I don't think so that there are any really OP classes in WZ.

The BIGGEST bug I see in pvp is the fact that 700 expertise gear (full BM) is not so good like mixture with rakata stuff, so YOU HAVE TO DO PVE to be best in PvP.... one would though that BM gear is ultimate for pvp.

I don't think this is true, even in other game a healthy mix of PvP and PvE gear gives you the edge, cause at some point those PvP state "caps" out or the benefit of an item (through itemization) is simply much better. PvPers in this scenario relies on their skills to win. If dedication to PvP is what wins you game, It would only be fair that the guy to that extra step and also PvE to have an aditional edge in a fight. However these people are rare. Best Scenario I can give you is that in WoW the GM of the server I was on got server first Frostmourne and was PvPing with it, he ran into my buddy and I and we were in half PvE half PvP gear (not top end stuff ether) and we managed to beat them.

Maximizing gear give you the stats, what you do with it is much more important. But if you want to talk about the .00001% people who can mange top end PvE and PvP while maintaining their skill then do so.
