    Two Things That Starwars The Old Republic Needs Badly

    Dungeon finder. I noticed that there are players who are actually going out into your virtual world to quest, socialize, explore, and group with other players; I find this extremely tedious and annoying. I think I speak for the majority when I say that we'd rather sit in a capital city all day trolling general while pressing the dungeon finder/PVP Warzone button over and over again, waiting for some 35 something-year-old basement dweller form a 40-man raid. That's what MMORPGs are all about. Just look at the very successful MMORPG Call of Duty.

     

    Once dungeon finder is implemented, the next step is a cross-server dungeon finder. That way, we will be able to group up with people that we'll probably never see again. Who wants to establish reputation, relationships or friends in a MMORPG? I sure don't. I apologize for mentioning the amazing MMORPG Call of Duty again--but Bioware--you should really take a good long hard look at how Infinity Ward was able to use Xbox Live to connect groups of anonymous players who are only interested in winning, not socializing or story telling (what are we a bunch of girls?). You just fire up CoD, press a button, and You. Just. OWN. Oh, and please be sure to de-emphasize the importance of World PVP. I don't want to feel pressured into actually going out into the cold cruel virtual world that you've painstakingly created to, you know, world PVP. That's annoying; and the capital cities are so much more warm and safe. Lastly, I need predefined and simple PVP objectives lest I get confused.

     

    Dual specialization and cheap respecialization fees. Don't you hate it when you specialize into a certain area, gaining benefits that allow you to perform really well in a particular role, when suddenly and unexpectedly you're slapped in the face with a situation in which the cons of your spec become relevant? Me too. I think we should be able to get rid of those dreaded cons whenever we feel like it. I mean, seriously, what is this, Everquest? Are you trying to scare people off by making spec choices important and varied, as opposed to the idea of players respeccing their characters every 5 minutes so that their character lines up well with the situation that they find themselves in? Or so that their character build matches up with that new and beautifully optimized build that they found on Elitist Jerks? There should only be pros when it comes to specialization. In fact, you should rename specialization to jack of all trad...ing?

     

    In conclusion, if you don't shape up Bioware, I just may have to go back to WoW. Just sayin'.

    All you people who are against dual specs, cheap respecs, and dungeon finder need to go back to Everquest.

     

    I forgot to mention in my original post that SWTOR also needs a re-class option. How many times have you been in a group that would have greatly benefited from the skills of a particular class that nobody was playing?

     

    We should be able to change the class of our characters in-game whenever we want, for a fee of course. After all, players shouldn't be punished for choosing a class that they knew nothing about! But don't make the fee too expensive. We don't want this game turning into a grind-fest for credits!

     

    In sort, restrictions = bad. They discourage experimentation, create frustration, and breed elitism!

    i think rift is more your type of mmo. but when you hit 50 you will be wishing you stayed.

    This game badly needs mods and macros.

    My guess is you got your feelings hurt for having sub-par DPS.

     

    Damage meters are just METERS. If your damage sucks, than that's YOUR FAULT. NOT THE ADD ON.

     

    Damage meters make your epeen bigger that's all. You are right they are just meters.

     

    you have 3 specs, how much versatility is there?

     

    I hope they dont add them so people can play what they want to play. not play for the big numbers.

    I was on my ship doing a class quest. I was about to select my reward and experience. There was a mod that was a reward. I wanted to see if it was an upgrade. so i hit my character screen to look at my mods. When i closed out, the reward window disappeared on me. So i clicked the holo terminal that gave me the quest and nothing happens.

     

    I also went into my mission log to see if i could select it there. where it is a class quest i cant abandon to start again. any ideas???

    I thought Bioware stated that if you wanted to play this game as an RPG you could. After lvl 15 all I see is 2 and 4 man heroics. ***??? Sitting there shouting out that you need a tank, healer, dps really isn't how I want to spend my time on this game. It seems that if you're not questing with 3 people at all times you're doing it wrong.

     

    Also, what the heck is with lvl 19 quests going against groups of 4 lvl 23's packed together? This game has some major balance issues. I ran into a lvl 50 imperial agent today and asked him how he got to 50 so quick. He said, (quoted) "Me and 3 of my friends quested together, we didn't skip any content like most people suggest." That blew my mind. You want to bring people from WoW, Rift and Galaxies right? This is not how you do it.

     

    I love this game, it's awesome...except the main part of this game sucks. I'm at a point where I can't do anything, I cannot progress because I'm spending 90% of my time on general chat asking people to group with me...

     

    We 2 manned the 4 person heroic this morning. with out companions obviously. I was heals and the other guy was dps. we had NO problem. we were lvl 16

    I don't really care at what time I get access currently, as I have pretty much resigned myself to getting into Bioware's "catch all " wave for everyone who they didn't think deserved to get legitimate early access, as was advertised.

     

     

    Boy, I sure am glad I pre-ordered for that color crystal!

     

     

    And for the record, I pre-ordered a digital copy, as I didn't trust Bioware to get me a physical copy when promised, which looks like it was a good idea.

     

     

    I guess I should be glad I'll be able to play it at least on release day and not have to wait 5+ days for my physical copy to arrive?

     

    Bioware sent the games to the retailers like a week ago if not more then that.

     

    seems like your a 15 yro kid who is used of getting his way. some of us pre ordered early for the EGA. How would you like it if you pre ordered months ago and some kid pre ordered yesterday gets 5 more days of EGA then you. Judging from your previous rants, im sure you would be angry.

    I think this uber-cautious approach to an MMO launch is ridiculous. I paid $60 just like the people who have gotten access to it already, yet for some reason I have to wait because Bioware is afraid of having a rough launch? Well, too bad, I can see my dollar is not valued amongst Bioware.

     

     

     

    I'd prefer everyone have fair access to the game and have intermittent server issues than some "privileged" people getting to play the game 5-6 days before me for no reason other than some stupid "lottery".

     

     

    Now, I'm pretty much assuming that Bioware is going to give pretty much everyone who preordered in the last couple months one day "early access", just to make sure they live up to their "promise". Gee, thanks Bioware. I love being mislead by saying I'll have early access only to find out that I won't be playing it till one day before launch. It makes me feel like a REALLY valued customer.

    oh my god this made me LOL hard!

     

    also for all of you people saying blahblah bigger priorities blahblah i am 20 have 2 children don't work neither does my partner live at home with my parents and still managed to buy a machine that cost 2500$ if you are the age of 13-16 then i understand but even then i don't see why your parents woudn't get you a machine that wasn't from 1720 for christmas or something

    This is what you get when you live in a society where one gets a hambuger in under 2 minutes and freaks out if its late. I can't believe what I am reading. Take a breath, go talk to your parents tell them you love them. Get your Christmas or Hannaka shopping done. It will come when it will come. Its a GAME not real life. I can just see the Bioware people sitting back having a little laugh about how everyone (well not everyone) is acting. Do you see how much power you are giving them. You people must be a blast to work with. Take a breath and relax.....

    I got in on the last wave yesterday and my pre-order is from the 25th.

    If you guys were on the 26th / 27th, I'd expect to be in the first, if not second of the waves today.

     

    Some 7/27 got in. We don't know if all did, but at least some 7/27 got in.

     

     

    Do you guys expect i will get in sometime today?

    I personally pre ordered on july 28th. I hope it is soon :) But i am kinda glad they are taking this route.

     

    Bioware cant win, if they let alot of people in and the servers crashed. Alot of people would be upset. and if they limit the people in waves as they are doing, people will get upset.

     

    I personally can see both points. in a week none of this will matter anyways.

    You guys know it's between midnight and 3 am right?

     

    if i had Early access id be playing. anyone who is not is a poser and took my spot

     

     

    then they stopped the waves at my date 7/28 because gamestop ran out of pre orders. Ive been sitting here since the last wave, hitting my refresh on my email and launcher.

    bumming me out... the only reason I ordered so early was to get on early and get names... looking like that won't happen... I absolutely hate the way they are doing this....

     

    have to leave for work soon... so won't be till late tonight now... :(

     

    there will be alot more servers. u will have a chance
