  1. I think it has a lot to do with responsibility, in that the tank is almost always looked at to lead a group, especially in a pug. Who wants to have to babysit when you can pwn faces? Personally i have always played tank/healer/support roles, as i find i have more fun when i know the group isn't going to wipe because the tank/healer/support is horrible, and i find tanking to be calming.
  2. Very much so, and thank you! Generally when i take a break from an mmo i cancel my sub and just don't play it anymore, until such a time that there is expanded content (i.e. a new carrot to chase after). But, in this case since the game is now F2P i'll most likely log in from time to time to say hello to friends and do some maintenance etc....I was really wondering how hindered i would be having full cargo holds & inventory. Looks like i'll need to disperse important items among all of my characters to retain access to them during my hiatus.
  3. So I have decided to let my sub run out, it's time for a break until the level cap increase or there's new content (fyi not a troll thread, this is common practice for me with mmo's). What I'm wondering is what will happen to my account/characters. I have 4 lvl 50's, all with full cargo hold unlocks and inventory unlocks, all maxed in pve or pvp gear, as well as 12 alts of varying levels. I know i'll lose access to some of my characters, but what will happen to my inventory and cargo hold slots? Do we get to keep those since we spent in game currency to unlock them? Or do they go into stasis until i were to sub again, or buy the unlocks from the cartel shop? I also wonder about the downgrade in my crew skills/companions, will i still have access to crafting etc.....?
  4. HK 51 should be difficult to acquire, the HM Fp's are not that hard at all, especially the foundry. If you can't hack it now get better gear and give it another go. Find another group and give it a go. Don't give up and come running to the forums whining about a challenge, rise to the occasion instead.
  5. I'd seen that, just didn't know if they had changed their stance on current subs for retroactive rewards, ah well looks like i'm subbing for at least 1 more month!
  6. Do you still need to be current on your sub to get your cartel coin rewards. Mine ends the 14th and i don't want to get screwed out of my rewards if i let it lapse for the 1 day
  7. You know what game had great open world pvp? swg.
  8. Give us a reason to get out into the game world and off the fleet and open world pvp will follow. If they'd add rewards for random open world pvp that would help a lot too
  9. That's awesome. I remember you guys crashing our base busts! and pwning our faces to a pulp in restuss! in fact, there was this one time, in the mando bunker, we were going down to craft a jetpack and you guys charged it and roflstomped us lol. I was gamehenge (imp bh) back in the day and mckane was my (elder) jedi, so cool to see you guys on this server!
  10. Are you guys the same DFR that was on the flurry server in swg?
  11. i'm sure that buying additional access to wz will still be cheaper than paying a sub fee.
  12. This is all EA's fault. They ruin everything! They are probably doing a rollback on the servers right now, all the way to pre-nge.
  13. I was on flurry for many years, even endured the NGE for 2 years!!! Gamehenge & Mckane, Co-leader of DeeZ. If you were on flurry, we stole your city.
  14. DUDE i hope you die before your funeral. Dying at your funeral could be awkward. Although it would be cool to see someone bite it in a Slave I theme casket, perhaps in a casket fight with a Millenium Falcon coffin.....
  15. I was 5 when RTJ came out, and it is one of my very 1st memories EVAR. When the other little churns were playing with GI Joe and Transformers, i was rocking Star Wars. I still rock star wars! I have a 7' tall Mace Windu in my game room. With a leather kango on his head. He's a ******.
  16. Could be your spec as well, if you're playing a sage heal spec sucks for levelling, likewise for kinetic spec on the shadow, dps all the way and bring out a healing pet
  17. Upgrading your gear is always necessary, you can't be rolling around at lvl 32 with lvl 12 gear. The orange gear is great for levelling, as the mods/enchancement/armoring from the planetary vendor is pretty much free. either way as long as your gear is within 2-3 levels you should be good. not sure what to tell you, as my 1st 2 characters were a shadow and a sorcerer (both consular classes) and i had an extremely easy time breezing through this game.
  18. is your gear all on-level, or close enough to it? your companions gear as well. Make sure you're upgrading orange gear with the mods you get from the fleet planetary commendation vendor. I solo'd my way to 50 on 4 different toons without ever having to run a fp or heroic mission
  19. But there is no xp grind in this game, unless you have skipped a massive amount of quest content. If you're predisposed to not liking the game, all you have to do is not play it. Personally, i find FPS games to be dull and repetitive, with little to no substance, so i just don't play them. If WoW is more your flavor, play WoW, it's your choice. If traditional mmo's bore you, play vindictus or c9, or wait for neverwinter. There's a ton of stuff on the market, unfortunately there hasn't been a single game, ever, that didn't come with its own set of flaws.
  20. The only real "AAA" title in that list is COH/COV, and that was a great game, just very very dated, and it had more than it's share of bugs. Any title in this genre is going to have bugs, that's a consequence of producing such a large-scale game that is constantly evolving. Even Rift, with the many things it has right, has plenty of bugs. Look at that 1st year of WoW, bugs galore. Even after it had been open for years they still introduce new bugs and imbalance with every patch, it happens with the genre, without exception. If you want a "perfect" game, without flaws, bugs and with truly innovative gameplay, buy a ps3 or 360. and even then good luck on the game not being bugged.
  21. So you're a "Pre-Endgame Elitist"? And those quests in vanilla wow were horrible walls of text, and extremely repetitive. I'm guessing that was your 1st mmo, so justifiably it was all bright and shiney to you, a new experience that you've been hoping another game could recreate? No other game will ever get you like your 1st mmo did. after the 1st you'll realize they are all pretty much the same game with a different skin, but that's a weakness in the genre. You enjoy mmo's or you don't, I think you fall in the latter category
  22. my laptop has a 9800gt and it runs the game fine. My tower currently has 2 250gts' and it runs the game way more than fine.
  23. With the class storyline and all the side quests you shouldn't be stuck anywhere, even if you're solo. In fact there are so many quests that you could easily be 5+ levels above the content on aleraan, provided you're not skipping side quests. Space missions help too, but even if you're not a fan of the on-the-rails space system and skip that entirely you'd still be well above the planetary content had you finished even half of the side quests on each planet. Check for bonus quest lines on planets you've been to previously, those also provide a great amount of xp.
  24. Keep in mind there is no personal attack happening here, nor is one intended. It's just a reality of the genre, the endgame is where the game is at. Even when WoW released all those many many years ago, people were levelling to reach the endgame (or to twink) because the endgame is where the game begins. Nothing elite about that at all. While you might find elitists in these types games, they are 99.9% of the time elitist about endgame content and activities, but those types of people are not indicative of the entire population base of any mmo.
  25. If you're looking for a game to "beat" i'd suggest you look elsewhere than the mmo market. And yeah 1-50 is nothing but training between you and your character to ensure that you can perform in the endgame. Even in WoW the last level is where the game really starts. If you count the very last class story quest as "the end", then you have disregarded 90% of the content. As far as the gear grind goes, it's nowhere near as long as in other games in the genre
