  1. I thought the Star Cabal as well. Makes sense. However the stuff after you take back Korriban made me think otherwise. Though one doesn't mean the other is wrong. I can be a combination of both. The Emperor is most likely returning and the Star Cabal could also be helping him.

But, we know from interviews there is a Revan connection to this story. At least it was hinted. Maybe it's Revan coming back through the force? I just don't know for sure. Would like to know what happens on the Rep side.

  2. Pretty good. Got an oil change. Studied for my test. Watched TWD and Davinci's Demons.

And the best part of all, found out W* had an extra beta. So I finally got to play it! It was good and bad all at the same time! But I'm excited for when it finally comes out.

  3. Is ESO even out? Preordered, played the beta and now I'm not very interested in playing the game. Maybe in a week or so when they get the bugs filtered out and there isn't a billion people in the starting areas.

I don't know why people are so freaking tribal about a game. Play if you like it, or don't play it. Whatever. Why grief, and why make it a my game is better than your game issue. Kind of childish.

  4. I guess not; no. I haven't seen the "special swtor reddit" guy be wrong about anything being added/changed in the game so far (except the Rudolph the Red Nose TaunTaun mount). :p

That was actually in the PTS wasn't it?

There were threads about BW not putting in the Christmas mount from the PTS. I figured this would have fit the bill.

  5. Well this thread bubbles up from time to time and each time the numbers become a bit more telling. It is, at the very least, a statistically relevant and significant sample despite whatever you may think about the poll.

Continuing class stories are something many people want to see. BW knows this and have acknowledged it. But it doesn't hurt to continue to kick the dead horse as away to remind them.

Is it class stories specifically? I would say no.

I think it's more story that actually has to do with our class. Sounds dumb, but wait! I'll try to explain!

80% of the story could be the same, as long as it's reasons are based on class. So, the Inquisitor would go to find lost Sith secrets, the Warrior to kill some one who pissed off the Emperor, the agent because the Star Cabal's records were found. So the middle would be about the same, but the beginnings and ends would be class specific. Maybe toss in a few different quests along the way.

Anyways, there could be hybrid solutions that would make BW and us Class Story fans happy. I advocate for Force User/ Non Force User stories myself.

  6. Lets sack the city of the gungans!!! Think how much better the prequels would be if we killed Jar Jar's ancestors now, while we have the opportunity! Or is some crazy terminator ish going to happen where it only affects that timeline

    YES!

We could save the entire galaxy! It was Jar Jar's fault after all.

Probably would have happened either way, but we should make sure and wipe them out now.

  7. Oh get the funk out of here - dont try to conflate the words of jesus with a funking video game...

    theHELLisamattawichoo....

Technically, Jesus never said any of that. Because he didn't speak English.

Also, he was just trying to give some hints, in case the OP wanted to know the answer of their question. Don't see the problem with it.

  8. star wars fans don't like tor.

star wars fans want swg back. star wars fans will flock to wildstar as it offers everything that made swg the greatest mmo made. what does tor have to offer? gsf is being forgotten, the housing system looks bland and boring, pvp is a mess, pve is just re-releasing the same raids and hm content. the devs are down to a skeleton team.

wildstar is the final blow to tor maybe disney will see what the players want and will give us back swg.

I love SWTOR. Think it's a great game.

They belly aching happens in all MMO's. Since MMO's are designed to draw in a bunch of people, that means there are a lot more people who complain or are unhappy.

Never played SWG. Thought it sounded cool, but every time I went to read up about it, or see a review, the game was a mess. But there lies the true secrets of MMO's. It's not really the game. It's the people who make it special. So you're not really helping by crying on this forum. You're just a person who doesn't want other people to have fun because you can't have your precious shiny. And then you'll grow up and not be a 4 year old and realize that life is too short to be on a forum trying to ruin everyone's good time.

  9. that sounds awful.

what you reckon that $14.99 you pay does? and is it a fair price for what you get? what is a fair price? but do we agree an unfair price is wrong? if it's too high it's exploitative, if it's too low it's generous - but surely too low is good for us, or rather better. Their service, their price - if you play and pay you're agreeing this is not like state taxes, you don't need this service to live, lke the other guy pointed out.

a socilaist would say it is wrong and evil a captialist would say it is right and justifiable? what would Jesus say?

    Totally sounds awful.

    But it's the truth.

Doesn't make it wrong. I get my 15 dollar value from this game.

In the end, that's what counts. No matter what systems they employ, are you getting your monies worth? But that's not an ethical question.

  10. Just have to point out...they named their cash shop the "Cartel Market".

I don't think they're hiding the fact that they are, in this sense of this game a complete monopoly on goods and services. Then again, they would be anyways.

Why do you think there are random drops? Just because?

No, the reason there are random drops is that they have scientific data that you'll repeat the same flashpoint over and over again trying to get your loot because it's a random drop.

Why are the packs random? Because they know you'll keep buying them just so you have the chance of getting what you want.

MMO's are created upon solid scientific findings to keep human beings playing the game as much as possible with the least amount of content.

  11. It's very frustrating to see it stretched out, but I see it as a way to reward Subscribers 'and' make sure that everything works the way it should. Tier-based access ensures that Subscribers get lots of love 'and' we get to be the guinea pigs in making sure it's coded right. :)

I'm the exact opposite of a Housing fan, but gosh darn, they did this right.

There is a reason for this. As some one who went through FFXIV:ARR's launch, I have some perspective on it. Basically a house will create an instance. They need space, and a transfer mechanisms to move you from your game server to an instance server.

Basically, you would release it lightly, like GSF and then test it. Just like GSF, the subbers will get it first, but will effectively open beta test it before full release to make sure the servers don't crash and burn. This is all dependent on how their server configuration is laid out but I think they generally use the same methods as it's more efficient that way.

  12. Don't be so naive.

Even someone so selfish should realize that a lot of people want this feature....which means that it will bring in a lot of $$ for the devs...which will help them keep your game running and potentially make it better down the line with updates.

So basically...even if you don't care for this feature...you should see it's value for everyone...including yourself.

Don't try to reason with it.

  13. speak for your self! im very excited about wildstar. player hosing that you can make all your own! to make look however you want! that also gives XP bonuses. open world exploration! real open world pvp, an interesting crafting system. all that in a Sci Fi universe. and yes it is sci fi you travel from world to world, space ships and laser guns... it would be like calling flash gordon non sci fi B^P

I'm pretty interested too! Loved the housing stuff on IGN. Thought they did a good job with all of it. I'm a little wishy washy on the combat system, it's a lot like GW2 without having to switch weapons, and a lot of the classes are meh. But, I've never played them, so I'll wait until I do!

At any rate, I'll be giving it a try :) Not leaving SWTOR just yet however.

  14. Revan was supposedly dead by then, remember? Killed after Bastila and a small Jedi strike force boarded his Dreadnought, which coincided with Malak trying to blow it up to smithereens.

Your purpose on the original KoToR, after departing Taris and receiving Jedi training on Dantooine, was to discover the location of the Star Forge, which was the never ending glory crafted by the Builders, and stop Malak in the process.

True, but he also started the Jedi Civil War. The whole point was to help stop what he created, which was the war and Malak. The Starforge was added after you figure out how Malak was creating his army, it wasn't the driving force at the beginning.

In either case, it really doesn't matter. People lived Revan's story. I for one picked him to be a Sith. But I don't feel cheated by the change. We all knew that they would have to pick an ending. Such is life. That for me doesn't break any of the connection I had with the character.

But to each their own. The point here, as it's really easy to figure out why people like Revan.

  15. I really don't understand where all the Revan love comes from. Granted, I can understand liking his character...but to feel so much about what Bioware does to him, just doesn't make sense to me.

There is a very simple answer to why Revan is so loved. Spoilers just in case you never played KotoR.

It was because we were Revan! In one of the greatest plot twists in any RPG known to man, we were the very Sith we were trying to destroy. Then we spent years waiting for KotoR II, and we were the exile and found out that our character Revan waded out to the unknown reaches of the galaxy to fight the true Sith.

Then, we didn't know what that meant until SWTOR appeared. Only to have Revan return and have him saved and killed (well, not really killed) in mid level flashpoints.

So the answer is simple. A lot of us have a vested interest and connection to the character! Some of us don't care if Revan doesn't look exactly how we played him, we still lived his story.

  16. I still need to play through DA:O.

Just haven't been able to get into the series like Mass effect

DA:O takes a bit of time to get into it. But once, at least for me, I started making choices I fell in love with the game.

Unlike ME, which took me reading about the story to actually get into it. Think of it like new TV show, you should give it at least 4 episodes before making a judgment call.

  17. I'm really excited. Anything that is customizable I'm happy about.

Though, I wonder if they missed an opportunity here by having an apartment style housing rather than ship housing. I don't mean the ships we have, but I was thinking about another ship/space station that would be floating around a planet of your choosing. To me, that would feel more Star Warsie. It also would have been a great compromise between housing and Guild Capital Ships.

Either way, I think it's pretty cool.

  18. Just want to chime in. First of all, Musco didn't say there would be no more class stories. He said that the question that was asked was not about class stories. Maybe false hope, but actually, with other "things" in that thread it leads me to believe that there will be a continuation in some form.
  19. Malgus = Dead.

With the first team, this was up in the air. They got some new employees, and BW has said Malgus is dead. I hope they're lying about that. I liked him, and thought it a waste to get rid of him so quickly. He was barely in the game until the end.

    Revan = Not Dead.

We don't know what this means exactly, but he disappears in a flash. You never take his HP to 0. BW has stated that Revan isn't gone from the game. They even hinted recently that the upcoming story arc will have something to do with Revan.

A lot of information exists if you use google.
