  1. I'd like to know this as well. My physical key is still working, but I'm getting over a 30 second delay between pressing the button and it giving me a code the first time I press it in a day. Of course that means that the first try never takes because it is invalid by the time I get it. I really should just switch to an app, I just hate after 10 years the key that came with my CE is finally dying.
  2. Can confirm bug. No idea where the panels should be here, but here are screenshots of the area with no clickable panels. Already switched from PvE area to PvP instance with no luck.
  3. Is this confirmation of the return of Kai Zykken?
  4. Although I never unsubscribed, I have not put in any meaningful time since finishing the chapters once, but this communication is making me consider putting my gaming time into SWTOR again. My collector's edition is at my parent's house, as I am only renting a room, but seeing how responsive the team has been the past couple of months has given me hope that someday when I own a house that the statue will be on the mantle while I play the game.
  5. In March 2012 when the guild I was in on The Red Eclipse fell apart and I restarted on Jedi Covenant I would have paid that easy, but I have been playing the Fallen Empire content on one character and then logging out for a month the past couple of months. The new warzone is interesting, but I have to agree with a few earlier posts, the little time that I have been on Jedi Covenant the atmosphere was toxic. No way I'm paying 1500 CC to transfer a character at this point, when there is so little to do after completing the story. I'm continuing to sub because I keep hoping that Bioware will eventually get more endgame content, and that the player base will be less toxic. That hope is fading every month though especially as I have started playing a variety of other games.
  6. I'll be honest, I never looked. My advanced degrees are in fields completely unrelated to anything Bioware would hire for... unless they want to make a game that revolves around International Relations. I looked up when George Smith left though, it was in December.
  7. I speculated something along those lines back on page 7. When did this happen? If they are still in the hiring process of a new lead flashpoint and ops programmer, I hope they take their time and get a good one instead of hiring the first person who applied and then hope he can "get up to speed."
  8. I wonder if Bioware only has their flashpoints and operations people working on temp contracts now. That would explain why it would take until 4.3, if they currently don't have a flashpoint or operation team. It would make sense considering they have announced no new flashpoints or operations. It would be nice to have these issues fixed in 4.2, but if they must wait an ETA is better than no ETA.
  9. Well, I've tried posting what I thought were reasonable solutions to the current situation, but they got lost in the page counts, so forget it. MOAR POSTS!!!!
  10. ... and for those of us who only had today to play during early access and didn't get coins from the copy/paste game? This is why you should just extend the early access instead of handing out free stuff to a select few. Some of us have other things we need to do tomorrow, and would like some actual benefit for having been a subscriber the entire time instead of just re-subbing for new content.
  11. This is what I thought it meant as well, as I saw the alliance alert that they probably are talking about, it had a mission name I didn't recognize, but no other text related. Guessing it was a companion mission we are supposed to get in Chapter XI or later. As for the ETA, I'm hoping only an hour to turn off that mission, so hoping back up in the next 15 minutes, but that may be too much to ask. It would be nice if they extended early access to Friday since today during the day was the only time during early access some of us were realistically going to be able to play. Two days of early access is already less than the 7 days we got with 1.0, 3.0, and 4.0. One day simply isn't a benefit to a large chunk of the community because some people's lives can't simply be re-scheduled for when Bioware can get the game to work.
  12. No actually, you didn't address how the possible skew of the forums' posters would be addressed to make it valid in your original post. First possible bias, the person has to be interested in the thread topic to click the link to vote in the poll. Any player who is not interested enough in that particular topic wouldn't enter the poll in the first place. Second possible bias, someone could easily create multiple accounts and vote multiple times, or if they already have multiple accounts they can just log in to another account and vote again. Third, the user base of the website tends to be more skewed towards people who have more time to play the game than the average "casual" gamer. I'm sure I could come up with more possible confounders, but if you can adequately address those three it would go a long ways to addressing at least the validity of the results.
  13. That's a misunderstanding of polling, the sample has to be random. The 1% of people who visit the forums is far from random, as certain segments are vastly over-represented and underrepresented in the forums. I am aware of that field of "science" dealing with statistics, I took statistical methods courses in grad school. I'm also aware of potentially dozens of problems that would completely invalidate the poll results that could easily happen in the forums.
  14. Did they find the bug with the conquest achievements and titles and fix that as well? Or is that bug still being hunted? The guild rewards are gravy, I care about the achievements/titles, particularly because I joined the guilds I am in now with the expressed purpose of getting those titles/achievements and we have been finishing first.
  15. This is actually the first week when I did not receive my rewards, but it is the second straight week when I did not receive the title or achievement for finishing first on a planet. Considering I never had this problem in the past it seems whatever "fix" they implemented has actually broken it for me. This is really annoying on a different level for me, because I am not going to have the time to continue conquesting at this rate for much longer, so if I am going to get these titles and achievements I need this system to work now. Guess Murphy's Law is actually a law when it comes to conquest in SWTOR.
  16. It would be nice to have a follow up at least saying that they are working on it (the achievements and titles), as the silence is really disturbing considering they made it sound like everything would actually be awarded by today.
  17. It's odd, everything had worked properly for me until this weekly. I still got the rewards this week, but for the for time I didn't get the achievement or title that I was supposed to receive (Conqueror of Oricon). Please tell us that you will roll out the titles and achievements in a separate batch later today because those are much more important to some of us.
  18. Will presence have a corresponding effect on defense for a companion set as a tank? Since it affects damage dealt, healing dealt, and total health, it seems presence is less useful for tank companions than dps or heals.
  19. Is this the reason that the swtor.com main page has said it is under maintenance since last Tuesday's update? I have to bypass it by going straight to the pages on the site that I am trying to get to.
  20. It may be where characters go to die, but it sounds fun.
  21. The strike does have some of the same defensive cooldowns as the scout though. I'm not sure how large the perma boost to primary damage would have to be for balance, that to me would be a trial and error thing determined through testing (internally and PTS).
  22. I would say a buff to primary weapons. The scout has its advantage in maneuverability/engines, the bomber is defense/support, and the gunship is secondary weapons (the railguns). Thus to me the logical place to be buffed is primary weapons. The secondary weapons as mentioned by several people appear to be the real weak point, but this would be offset much better with a buff to the primary weapons that gave the strike fighter a superior edge in a close range dogfight. The scout would still be able to dodge when played properly, and the bomber would still have superior defense, while the gunship would still rely on range. I disagree with a buff to speed or engines as it would essentially erase the unique character of the scout. Edit: Any boost in range would be kind pointless unless it mirrored gunships, which would repeat my objection to speed/maneuverability mirroring scouts. To me the strike fighter should hit harder since it should expect to land fewer hits than a scout.
  23. I use that site a lot, but it is completely useless for the Gundark achievement/codex entry on the Republic side. I cannot get to Dromund Kaas to kill a gundark. When I killed a gundark on Dromund Kaas on one of my Imp chars I got the codex, but not the achievement for it which is linked to Nar Shadaa.
  24. An answer on this would be really nice. I joined a European guild pre-launch that fell apart last year and would really like to transfer those characters, especially my main, to the NA server on which I now play. I made the switch since I live on the east coast of the US.
