Are you actually serious? A Star Wars game where the main focus is not Empire vs Republic? Sith vs Jedi? Dark Side vs Light Side? What exactly is the point then? Are we to hold hands and sing around the fire?

Combat in this game is a total disaster. Unless you are keyboard turning clicker who maybe wouldn't notice the difference.

The ability lag has nothing to do with latency. It's because any ability will not fire until the animation of the previous action is complete. So, an ability with a 1 second cast time and a 2 second animation will prevent you from casting anything else for 2 seconds, not 1. You can test this yourself by hitting your mount button, waiting for the cast timer to complete and then run forward. You will be dismounted because the animation hasn't finished and you don't actually mount until it does.

My connection is never more than about 90ms, usually closer to 40ms. I've never disconnected or visibly lagged from poor connection. Updates come down at about 1.5mb/s. If it was something I could just fix on my side I would. I play 3 other MMO's and none of them are anywhere near as bad.

It's just painful. Most times I'll hit the leave ship door and just go make coffee or something... compared to some of the other bugs and things it's a pretty minor annoyance though.

Exactly this. It takes me longer to load Alderaan than it does to boot my 5 year old laptop I use for writing word docs.

You're right, a £800 custom build with Intel Core i5 2500 3.3Ghz, 16GB Corsair DDR3 and 2GB ATI Radeon HD 6950 is pretty softcore...

I have a monster gaming rig and still up to 3 minute load times... it has very little to do with the PC. P.S. 8 Gigs is not a lot of ram.

I couldn't agree more, it's physically painful. I absolutely hate the interface, it's a just about unusable in some cases. The zone map actually overlaps 3 buttons on my action bars when I'm in a Warzone... I was the same, by about level 30 I just didn't care any more. This wouldn't be so bad if the /who screen was actually usable (see User Interface above). There are class and race combos I will never play just because the voice sucks. And that sucks. There are game-breaking bugs (ability response times and in-game mail, I'm looking at you) that never should have made it through beta that are not even on the known issues post... 'nuff said. Everything above combines to make the PvP in this game a massive waste of time. I have never felt such frustration in a PvP environment (and I played Anarchy Online).

I have cancelled my sub because of this rubbish. I may come back in a few months, but I doubt it. I hope for the sake of those who choose to play this buggy game that they fix some of this stuff for you.

No, you don't. The problem is that if you hit an ability and then another one the second one won't fire until the *animation* for the previous one ends. Not the cast timer, or the GCD - the animation. Which means that cast timers and the GCD are meaningless. Good luck using something like Aclarity to speed up your cast times when the animations stay the same length. Your damage is also in many cases not applied until the end of the animation, so you hit the button and then wait for 2 seconds for the damage to land. Which isn't so bad when it's just a high damage attack, but when it's a stun that triggers 2 seconds into the animation you might as well not use it. The combat in this game is screwed, which is why I have un-subbed. I'll try again in a few months if the game is still alive.
