when was the last fight we've been put through where Interrupt, knockback, or targeted stun/mezz was actually rewarded?

That went out the window when BW re-worked companions to one-size fits it all. When you no longer had to be a melee class with a dps companion until you got your healer. Because when that came around there was no longer any need for players to use any kind of crowd control to keep mobs at bay. Combine that with the constant X12 XP rate, and players are now so over leveled that enemies cant touch them. Not only that, but the other change made to companions that made them OP as "beep" largely made any fights a redundant waste of the players time. BW could just as well remove all red npc's from the game and let the player run from a to b uninterrupted. The companions does all the work anyway.

The fact that they tried to make level sync to combat the over leveling has failed utterly, as now my droid kills the Emperor before I even get the first attack in. A level 17 (technically 50, but BW screwed that up utterly) end Boss for a level 70-80 player with a level 20+ companion... Sad.

There's no removed quests...? Maybe you need to turn exploration quests back on.

They have removed over 30 quests from the game. Heroics, breadcrumbs, bonus missions, planetary missions, area missions.

The ability to put such a suggestion into writing doesn't make it as feasible. If you can't be bothered to look at your mail at least 1 time in 30 days, that's on you.

The ability to type does not make you intelligent. It is quite easy to do. And the other way, of simply making all mails stick for ever, is also quite easy to make. Why? Because both systems already has in-game equivalents.

Never going to happen. It's a waste of server resources. The logout timer wasn't added by accident.

No it was not. I was added when there was more than 2 million players trying to log in on only, what, 200 servers. It was a system meant to make space on servers with very limited capacity. Those days are unfortunately long gone, and there are now less than 100k subsribers on 5 servers, whom each has more than 5 times the capacity of the origin servers.

The rest of your post is just opinions, not really worth comments, except this, that really puts your "opinions" into perspective, for what it is worth:

    although it's a bit rough

Yes, but still less harsh than the (present solution) alternative: Losing everything anyway after 30 days if you forget (about) it.

Lets say one has 34 items (just an example) in mails on a char, and you have room for 11 in the inventory. Getting those 11 is still better than the complete loss of everything after the 30 days. Or you have a combined 300 million in your mailbox but only room for 48 of them in you wallet (if your legacy bank is THAT bloated, you wont notice 300 million anyway), getting those 48 million is still better than losing out on all 300 after 30 days if you forgot.

As I mentioned, I know it is on me for forgetting in the first place (I am not good at writing spreadsheets, or even notes, about things I do in-game), but some salvage is better than a complete loss after 30 days. And a chance to react trough a notification after 28 days is even better.

And if you are unable to react in time for some reason or the other, it really wont matter anyway, since it would mean the same loss. But see my salvage idea again. Not optimal, but better than a complete write-off.

The other solution, of course, is for BioWare to broaden the mails that are kept beyond 30 days, so that mails (of all types) from the GTN are kept for an unlimited time, just like the new-character mails.

That would also be very nice. I actually think that is a better idea.

you can't exactly walk around blindfolded thru all solo content.

    Examples:

Oricon Heroic Mission bosses (you have to kill 3)

Droid in volcano on Makeb (Imperial side)

    Bonus boss in Meridian Flashpoint

Star Fortress Exarchs (especially Voss) - heroic

Please notice that half of these are group content. And no you cant walk trough (some) group content blindfolded. At least the Oricon Heroic you also need to have your left foot and right hand tied together. And avoid aggroing. The Voss Exarch you need both legs, and one arm to interrupt. But it is also group content, only meant to be soloed by players who have some knowledge about their class.

If by droid in volcano, you mean the archon... You also do need both legs, but only to move out of stupid.

Bonus boss in Meridian needs some thinking yes (but who says you cant do that blindfolded?) This is about the only valid point here when it comes to difficulty.

I seem to detect a pattern here. People intertwingle some very different problems here: difficulty and tediousness as well as just simply long fights and laziness. Combine that with lack of understanding of their class/spec, and voila: Simple fights with easy to follow mechanisms becomes difficult content, because players cant, or wont, simply move out of stupid, use (defensive) cooldowns when needed, or heroic moment, or just simply dont want to put in an effort.

Example: the Empress Vaylin fight. How many players daily on these forums whines around for nerfs, to an easy fight, were all you have to do, really, is follow 2 simple colour coded mechanisms.

And the case of both character credits and legacy credits being full.

Well that question is easily answered. The money will be lost anyway if that is the case, 30 days or not. But having them auto-send them to inventory (or legacy bank) at least leaves a chance for some salvage.

    6 hours ago, SteveTheCynic said:

nd I'd be interested to hear what you'd suggest to handle that case

Leave a message to the players account after 28 days, that the content of (x number of) mails will be (attempted) moved to your inventory when the mail runs out in 48 hours. You now have, say, 48 hours, to clean up space, or the inevitable will happen (anyway).

    1) If the player dont react, it is precisely of no importance to the result of having them deleted after 30 days, now they were just warned.

    2) If they DO react but cant create enough space before the 48 hours are gone, see end result of what would happen if you any way forgot the mail.

    But it is a chance.

Or one that lets you select the level you want to upgrade to

Would actually be very nice. BUT, explain to me how you would fit, say, Origin Story into that, if I chose level 60? Would it not practically be the same, because of level sync? Aka, making it sort of absurdly indifferent whether I chose level 60 or 80?

  7. 5 minutes ago, SteveTheCynic said:

What, and let people consume connection resources on the server for an unlimited time while they aren't playing?

I for one sometimes have to leave the game for extended periods, like cooking or toilet. I hate coming back in the middle of a fp and have to start over or run several minutes to catch up. The idea of the log out was to clear up space, as when the game launched, the servers were all packed, and people were queued up for hours.

    8 minutes ago, SteveTheCynic said:

I'm pretty sure this would be pointless, since stuff normally sells fairly quickly or not at all.  Adding more days for "not at all" to continue wouldn't help much of anything, aside from folks using ridiculous GTN prices as a way to stash stuff they have no inventory space for.

Mostly yes. But lets say I make my fortune by selling mats, and it is not fun having to rearange like 200 sales posts on 6-7 chars once every 3rd day. Let me at least get 5 days.

    10 minutes ago, SteveTheCynic said:

What would happen if the mail content is an *item* and the character's inventory and cargo hold and (if relevant) legacy storage are all full?

I could have been more precise here. I mean the in-game mails and GTN returns and sales. Not the many many mails some people like my self get when I create a new char. And if people run around with that full inventories, fill it into the first available slots in the cargo bay(s). I have 76 chars on Malgus (54 operational and a bunch of level 1 name holders), and I dont always make it to looking at all of them even once every 2-3 months. I have lost much like that. I know it is on me for forgetting, but a fair chance would be nice, if the mail content went into inventory or cargo bay.

They took that away on purpose.  I'm not really sure why, but they did.  I imagine that their reasons for doing so haven't changed...

    1) I have apparently missed out on that...

    2) Then they could at least not tease me by having me drive around on a mount that says it protects against knockbacks 😠.

  8. Dalborra, Gav Daragon and Master Dar'Nala was the 3 original Asia Pacific servers. They were actually very heavy or full. When they closed, most migrated to US West coast servers, and buffed them for quite some time. Well, what happened next was a sad story of SWTOR losing over a million subs over about a year, and the resulting server merge (the first one, Aug. 13, 2013). How many APAC players that are left now, I dont know. But there was quite many back in the days. Considering that servers at launch had a limit of 4000 players each. But not all could nor would play at the same time, I say that 12k is not unreasonable as a minimum number of APAC players. Considering the sorry state of the game right now with less than 100k subscribers, divided between 5 servers, she could be quite close with her claim.

  9. Please revert game difficulty to 1.0 era. There are too many "legendary" players who run around at level 80, not even knowing their class (let alone any other classes) because game is "follow-the-companion" easy.

Focus point is, it would appear that the battle for difficulty and learning curve in this game is largely lost. Does it matter if they are newbies at level 1, 60, 70 or 80?

No I have not, because opinions give birth to politics and policy (and religion). Need gives birth to suggestions. Failure to improvements.

But at this point since you have added absolutely NOTHING to this conversation but argumentation and OPINION, I will just assume you are a troll and ignore any further comments from you.

Your frustration with my argumentation I can actually understand, because they are based on logic, and you cant really argue how your suggestion holds out against them. That is just proof that while I may not be right, but I did a good job.

My opinion was NOT voiced until you started screwing over new players. And that you got an overhaul for, yes. Because I also have an opinion on new players. If exchanging opinions on new players end up with you feeling trolled, I hope my point hit home. If not, you can always find me here for more...

  12. Fun fact: I just inspected you. You joined less than 2 years ago. Mind you, some players ran the Esseles for the first time on December 20, 2011. I know what hard content is, and what "Fire By Trial" means, as I did the Esseles back in late July 2011. You have/had the bennefit of 1) It becoming a "Solo" flashpoint you could do and 2) the experience from more than 1 million Esseles runs to draw on.... And you have, what, in your own over inflated ego-trip decided that you forgot what it means to be new, just because YOU had a bad experience??

I played the game when the Emperor fight really did kill you if you did not put an effort into it. You never EVER had to learn your class, you NEVER had to learn a role, you NEVER had to actually do hard content, because you only started playing after the game became "easy-mode follow-the-companion".

How dare you mock new players and call them waste?? Noob.

So new players who have not yet become rich are suffering from "ME ME ME" syndrome with the QT costs, are they not?

If you are incapable of detaching your emotions from what you read, then perhaps  you have failed as a forum contributor.  Seems a lot of you conflate someone's ideas with their moral character as a player and a person.

And you failing utterly, for what it is worth, means what?

    19 minutes ago, RevBurt said:

You know, something I've noticed about this forum(s) is that if you post a suggestion, you don't get counter suggestions but rather outright vitriol for even "thinking such a thing" and how much I have "failed" for even posting.

Again, because what you posted do not qualify as a suggestion, as it lacks argumentation, and it is BATHED in "OPINION" because it does not benefit the target audience; The Beginners. Only veterans who should not be there anyway (see your own argument about greed).

See my counter argument in my first post about Spammer Station being probably THE MOST beginner friendly FP of them all, hence its nickname.

    don't forget to bathe

If you clear up your thought process, and see things the right way, whom do you think has the right here; the newbie who is 1) learning and hence 2) que for Esseles because it is a beginner flashpoint

    or

The greedy "veterans" who cant stay away because they are too lazy to accumulate rewards in other ways?

Point is, dont expect ALL players to like newbie bashing.

  14. Difference between "suggestions" and "my opinion" is this:

Suggestion: Remove cost from quick travel, it will only hurt players whom has not yet become rich anyway.

Opinion: Remove Esseles as starter flashpoint because ME ME ME...

    Notice the difference?

Care to hazard a guess as to what my point is?

  15. 37 minutes ago, RevBurt said:

Why do I have to suffer because of someone's inexperience?

You dont. Just stop doing the beginner flash point. Or, be a good, helpful player, who helps the new players to a good experience, if you absolutely HAVE to have that reward instead of working around it. A route that actually is faster and gives better, but hey, that is not on me.

  16. As an aside, what do you think you would say in like 1 months from now, if they rearranged them tomorrow?? You would be on this very forum, suggesting they made "name third FP" into beginner flashpoint, because new players dont know how to speed run Spammer Station, and because you HAVE to have it selected to get the rewards, you just want the new players out, alt+f4 and c-format. See the bad circle, people like you create? Instead of just accepting that Esseles and Black Talon are what they are.

In other words, business as usual around this forum 😎🫢

I doubt that the extra server will pull much population from the existing ones. The APAC players will be happy, but European players will not go there, the lag is insane from here. I of course cant answer for the Reptile Republic, but I doubt many reptile humans will migrate to the APAC server either.
