  1. I can sympathise a lot with the OP and other posters who find the jumps frustrating or even impossible. It took me quite a while to figure out how jumping worked in this game; it is counter-intuitive, but once you realise that you can't tackle a jump in-game the way you would in real life, it's possible to complete all the jumps required for the datacrons. In-game, you have to stand back from the edge of the platform you are jumping from, otherwise you do a silly little bunny hop instead. I found the easiest way to measure how far back I need to go is to stand right on the edge, then tap my back key briefly a couple of times. The next obstacle is to stay jumping long enough to reach the other side. To keep jumping for as long as possible, press the spacebar and your forward key together and don't let go until you have landed. Some jumps need you to jump a shorter distance and I think all of these (bar the ones on the Nar Shaddaa pipes on rep side and the Taris empire one in the pirate cave) work using exactly the same full jump technique but with sprint switched off. For the awkward ones, try jumping at a slight angle so you land against a wall or something else that will stop you jumping right over the landing spot. Jumping off boxes works in exactly the same way; take at least two steps back from the edge before jumping or it will be that same bunny-hop instead of a proper jump. Some steps in the datacron process require you to drop rather than jump - Makeb is the most obvious example. Try to do the jump (drop) backwards if you can as you have more control that way, with sprint off and very light taps of your back key. Otherwise follow the same rule for edges and take a couple of steps back before lightly tapping the keys you need for a small jump or fall. If you still find you can't do them, move a character to The Red Eclipse and I'll be happy to escort you round any tricky ones
  2. I have already contacted the venue (and travel companies etc), but appreciate the advice When you have a disability, attending an event of any kind requires a seemingly ridiculous amount of pre-planning, but it is wholly necessary as the smallest unplanned stage can turn into a roadblock. What is suitable for a wheelchair user is often not suitable for a stick user (and vice versa), just to complicate things further. The pre-planning has to include checking arrangements inside the event room(s), as well as travel to the venue and navigating through the venue to the event rooms. The venue was very helpful and a train and taxi combo will work if train company can be given sufficient notice. I'm now just waiting to hear from the event organiser (Bioware) for the last piece of the "can we do this?" puzzle.
  3. I'm *still* waiting for you to reply to me regarding arrangements for those with mobility related disabilities. By ignoring my request for information for 6 weeks (and counting), you have managed to whittle down the number of people I was requesting this information for by 2, as they can longer have an option to book affordable advance train tickets. I'm not taking part in this one; I don't have enough slots free to participate in the event, though I *would* participate if I didn't have to buy another 8 slots in order to join in. I already pay a subscription and had hoped that it would include everything I needed to take part in in-game events. Increasing the number of available slots, that I would still have to pay additional money for over and above my subscription, isn't going to do anything to encourage me to participate. I do feel quite excluded by the disconnect between the requirements of the event and the need to pay for participating in it. It just feels like I am being punished for supporting you in the past by buying character slots.
  4. He hasn't replied to mine (sent on 20 June) unfortunately. Or the one I sent on 19 May. Nor indeed did I get any response from the one I sent to Eric Musco on 29 May. All were identical requests, asking a fairly mundane and innocuous question about what accessibility arrangements are in place and who I should contact to make arrangements. Something I have done with every event I have attended since my accident, from an author reading at the local library to a weekend at Comicon. This is the first time I have not received any kind of reply though! The staff at EA.com were lovely and did try to help, but it's not their event (they don't have *any* information about it) and a bit less helpfully, gave me a GIANT amount of information on a completely different event for a different EA product I guess I have my answer, really; people with accessibility issues shouldn't expect answers to their questions never mind expect any actual assistance
  5. Well there's Guss too, ...sort of
  6. I haven't quite maxed out all available slots, but I don't have enough left to keep a full set of event characters. I don't want to play a character and then have to delete them. I'm not a role player as such, but deleting a character after spending time and effort on them seems a little ... callous.
  7. I have several questions regarding accessibility after encountering problems at the last event in London. Could one of you please deign to answer my PM on the subject or alternatively, point me to someone who can answer my questions?
  8. That's me not participating then. I'm sure my guild would be delighted to have their guild leader disappear off to another server for several months!
  9. Last time the event was in London, they ran two sessions (one after the other) so everyone who turned up had an opportunity to attend. It meant a long wait for those who didn't get into the first session though, so remember to bring sandwiches and a good book if that is their plan this time too
  10. We've been getting this on our republic guild ship since the server issues last Wednesday (11 May). I had a live chat with CS a couple of days later and at the time, logging out and logging back in seemed to make the ship re-discoverable, but as from today it seems to take several relogs to make it visible again. They did say it was a known issues and would be corrected in a future game update. This would be less of a problem of course if some of the ship admin tasks weren't tied to the character that is GM (like issue of gold keys).
  11. Our guild ship disappeared and has still not come back Edit: It was visible again after a relog - phew!
  12. I'm not sure whether it is the Dread Palace objective or the Group Finder objective, as they both give the same rewards if you have invaded Oricon or Section X, but I only received points for one of them. I did put in a ticket for this, but customer services are unable to help as this is caused by a bug within the game it seems. You can't copy text from a ticket in-game, so it's quite efforty to turn a ticket into a bug report in-game - this will have to do!
  13. Thank you for all your suggestions. I tried changing grass to zero, disabling the SLI and repairing the SWTOR files. No luck I'm afraid and I can now add Dromund Kaas as another planet that this is happening in. Everywhere else seems OK still though.
  14. I will give that a go - thank you for the advice.
  15. Is anyone else experiencing disconnects on Belsavis? Every few minutes after I start moving or get on a speeder, the game freezes and then disconnects after a long pause. This only happens on Belsavis for me and I very rarely have disconnects elsewhere. My computer has Windows 10, 2 NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics cards and I have an excellent and continuous broadband connection. I can't recall when this started, but it's been at least 2 months; I was experiencing the same thing when I took a guildie round Belsavis to collect the datacrons. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I think those prisoners might have cut a cable or something when they were digging their escape tunnel :/
