  1. Greetings-

I was happy to see in Rich Vogel's latest blog post about Bugs and Exploits, that everyone on the development team plays the game (my emphasis added):

    http://www.swtor.com/blog/developer-blog-busting-bugs-and-fixing-exploits

"We have a huge list of features and content we want to put into the game and we are constantly adding to it based on feedback we get from the community and from playing the game ourselves. Every single one of us on the development team plays the game, and we see the same issues you do and where we need to expand."

I think that's great! Having your staff also use a product you create can go a long way in creating a quality product. That said, could the same be said about your CSRs? Specifically the in-game CSRs? I have stalked the customer service forum since launch looking for big issues and, having had a few encounters with CSR ticketing myself, do not believe they play the game.

BioWare, what are your thoughts on this? Do the CSRs play SWTOR, and we're mistaken? Do you think the game would have additional value if they did?

What does the community think about all this?

  2. Greetings-

I know we have a ton of posts about this already on the forums, but this needs an official response. I consider this terrible game design.

For those that haven't read the reverse-engineering guide, each green item that can be RE'ed has 3 blue options, and 5 purple options from each blue. Now if you are RE'ing blues, and know 3/5 patterns, and you crit an RE (learn a recipe), you can receive this error: "You already know that schematic."

This means that you crit, and the RNG (that's random number generator for you non-technical folks) decided that you were going to try and learn something that you already knew. Given the time and materials cost of RE'ing at this point in the game relative to obtainable hardmode/raid/pvp/daily gear, it makes no sense for crafting epics to be this stupid.

Yesterday, I RE'd 100 Redoubt Galactic Combat Modules (a BH tanking earpiece). I knew 1 epic recipe before starting, out of a possible 5. After 100 RE's, I knew 2 more and had 5 (FIVE!) of these errors. We need a definite statement on whether or not this is intended behavior or a bug.

  3. Greetings-

I'm not sure how this feature didn't make it into a release client, but I would think it must have been brought up during BETA. This feature is a huge quality of life change for any tanks/healers in PvE and anyone in PvP (who's about to die/needs to be guarded/healed).

  4. Greetings Fellow Bounty Hunters-

You can get a modifyable belt from the starship upgrades fleet commendation vendor in the fleet. A "pilot's belt" is only 60 commendations. Bracers on the other hand... have fun auction house hunting.

  5. Greetings-

By default, tab is bound to "Target Next Enemy". This function will cycle through all enemies you can see, often seemingly random.

The functionality you are looking for is "Target Closest Enemy". This function also exists, and you can rebind tab to it in your key bindings for targetting. Best of luck!

  6. I love this advice. However, I had no clue that you could do things like switch power between lasers and shields. How does one switch to shield energy?

    Greetings-

You first have to buy a power conversion module from the starship upgrade fleet commendation vendor in the fleet. Its level 35 req and sells for 50 commendations I think?

It shows up on your space missions hotbar as the first two hotkeys. The first is lasers, the second is shields. Hope this helps.

  7. Greetings-

I am not sure what your issue is, but I too had no issue with the Sullust Interception mission when I had all grade 4 crafted pieces + power conversion module. The electronic warfare pod makes it much easier once you hit 45, but the epic crafted pieces are by no means mandatory.

By comparison, the later space missions even with all crafted epic pieces are significantly harder. You really have to get good at barrel rolling out of fire while still shooting your targets. It takes some getting used to an on-rails shooter. Best of luck!

  8. Greetings-

Armor ratings from moddable armorings being put into customizable gear will be affected by the type of armor that you are inserting it into (light, medium, or heavy). As an example, a light armor chestpiece with commando armoring 15 will have less armor than a heavy armor chestpiece with commando armoring 15. Hope this helps.

  9. All that matters are the mods. Problem is that currently, the max rating you can go with mods is 22 (from corellia commendations). I think end-game gear has lvl 25 mods.

In a future patch you'll be able to rip off the mods from artifact-level gear and pimp your favorite orange gear. Like it should be.

    Greetings-

I believe this to be false. My companions (in medium orange moddable) have less armor value than my character (in heavy orange modable) with the same level armorings.
