  1. How is 10pm late at night? I live in the most Western state of the US and the 2am patch time CST is only 10pm for me. That's not late at all, especially not if you cannot start until 9ish. I wish they would switch it, give you guys the 10pm and I'll have the early morning one. Let's see how much crying you'll see coming from Europe when that happens. On average most people go to school and work in the morning.. there's more people at school/work than those who are off in the mornings. I don't see how it is funny at all. Personally i think it's odd that Europe is complaining so much about it. If anything I'd expect to have Oceanic complain about it more, it's their afternoons/evenings.
  2. Just awesome.. Another night I cannot play (I live in the US and 2AM CST is 10PM (HST) for me). And they surely couldn't add this part to the regular scheduled patch times? Can't they just say they're doing at least 2 patches a week instead? That way they would be a bit more consistent at the very least. I don't like the regular scheduled patches because of the time (10pm for me) but I'll live with them. I do see the need for it so that's not much of a problem, I can always find something else to do. And yes, I'll find something else to do with this patch as well, again no problem, but it's getting ridiculous that there are so many down times at all. Especially for something as meaningless as what they mentioned now for the patch. It's not as if nobody can play or anything, so what's the rush? Oh well, guess I can do not much than just go along with it. My subscription is until April but even though I do love the game, I also noticed that I'm starting to get a bit bored by it. That, and all the other things around it make me kind of doubt if I should continue my subscription after April. We'll see, still 2 more months to go and I really hope it will be improved significantly by then because, like said, I do love the game
  3. I am currently on the yes side, but I wonder how I feel about it once I hit 50 (I am 49 now) and am on that number for a while.. I'm afraid I will get bored pretty fast (as I do with all games after I reach the end and there is nothing new anymore.. I can handle only so much repetition).
  4. Yup Swiftsure, it's the most busy server.. thankfully without the huge queues we used to have in the beginning
  5. Patch time from 10pm to 2am on a Friday evening, my time? lol that's just awesome planning... Oh well, I can only hope they will address the lag issue so many people have because otherwise it is a pretty messed up time to schedule maintenance imho.
  6. What he proposes, with the land and building stuff on it.. I don't know but sounds like farmville lol
  7. I think they're aware of the problem. They ask people now to do a trace route, here in the 2nd post of this page: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=195307&page=28 Hopefully they will resolve it fast.
  8. And apparently last night's patch/maintenance never fixed it... still huge lags
  9. lol I actually live in Hawaii, we're 4 hours back from CST and 2 from PST (during DST even an hour more so then the shutdown will actually be at 9pm my time). Alaska is indeed 3 hours back Sure, I can live with the downtime and I do not have a real complaint about it either, there is lots of other games I can play during that time and otherwise would be neglected. However, when I see people complain about the times not being right and how the US has it perfect, I do like to point out it isn't perfect for the whole US. My complaint really is only about those complainers, if we had the times they are having, it would be a lot more better (well, for me anyways lol, I have no time to play during daytime). If it were to be perfect for the entire US, as most complainers state, BW should do the maintenance on the PST servers at least 2 hours later (making it 2am for the server and midnight for me (still 2 hrs too early for my taste but at least I would be able to get my fix on for a few hours lol).
  10. 1.1 happened, that increased the lag for many people. Last night it was completely unplayable for me, I actually had a lag spike of over 250,000 at some point. My computer is new since early December, I am running a GTX570, 16GB Ram and an i5 2500k processor at 3.5ghz so that shouldn't be it. While I am in those lags (which actually take minutes now instead (someone reported 12 minutes I saw last night) of just short times) I never lost connection to the net either so, when taking that into conclusion and the fact that so many others have the same problem, it must be on BW's side. Ah, before I forget, changing the display settings to low don't help either (would be weird anyways when I look at my specs).
  11. Obviously it would be the best for the players to update the game per server region. CET when it is their nights, US east when it is their nights and US west/pacific when it is their nights. Even just two hours later would at least leave me some time to play on those nights. 2 am CST is just 10 pm for me and I do live in the US.
  12. Just noticed this and just wanted to say there are parts in the US where it is 10 pm when they severs go down at 2 am CST. So, for quite a few people it is actually prime time.
  13. Read through the thread, you'll see many people complaining about scheduled down times as well besides this one. You're obviously missing my point. My point is that why should any free days be given to EU players while I have to endure the same issue every week. My play time is from about 9pm until midnight/1am. So at least once a week I am unable to play due to scheduled downtime (seeing I am -4 hrs from CST, or -11 from CET). If, by the reasoning of the OP, free time is to be given because it falls in his prime time, then why should others be left out? My post had nothing to do with people complaining about something but all the more about putting some things into perspective.
  14. There we go again, another thread in how bad the people in Europe have it.. I live in the US and the scheduled down times have always been from 10 PM till whenevers. Last time with three patches in a row, I was only able to play 1 day in a whole week, I'm not asking for free days either. Again I say: I would love to have it the other way around, and have down times during my day.. I seriously don't see the problem.. most people work or go to school during daytime.
