  1. So my Shieldtech is my main and has better gear and stuff. I love tanking with him but its sometimes hard to separate pulls cuz he is so AOE tankish. Regardless hes got a jump on gear and overall game resources compared to my other characters. he already is in tank gear with 140ish stuff and 3-4 peices of 156 stuff. still needs some work and has zero augments.

     

    My Jugg doesnt have endgame gear at all and is still at 50, so i have to work on his gear no matter which way i go.

     

    I constantly hear juggs are better tanks, but having been a pally tank in that other game; the BH feels more natural to me as a tank. I even enjoy pvp with him as tank spec.

     

    So the question is, do i take the BH pyro or take the jugg smash spec.?

  2. Hello, I am a founder who recently returned to sub for the expansion and have decided to stick around for awhile.

    Unfortunately my guild has all moved to GW2 and I am usually the only one on.

     

    After a bad pug last night i decided i need a new guild so i dont have to tank for Pugs anymore

     

    My main is a 55 full shieldtech Iam am working on getting him regeared with the new stuff.

     

    I like working on my main and running FP, PVP; but I am also leveling alot of alts because I enjoy the class stories.

    I have a gunslinger, a Guardian, and a Jugg, at 50 aside from my main; working on a Sin now.

     

    I want a mature guild who is laidback, but large enough to have people that want to go do stuff. I want a guild with a voice server and atleast some presence on both factions. Enough people to enjoy PVP and FP's maybe OPs.

     

     

    I would like to run rated PVP for fun and hit all the flashpoints for tokens and gear. I don't like dailies very much and often end up on an alt instead.

  3. meh sages are not that bad at carrying the ball due to sprint (best way to get past the firepits) and knockback.

     

    i can certainly think of worst classes to carry the ball, i would probably put sages in the middle of viability as a ball carrier. as a pt i avoid the ball like the plague, my job is to escort the ball carrier using gaurd/taunt, not carry the ball since i have no abilities to help me do that.

     

    ummm u can survive forever , and pass the ball to a more mobile person.

    you can jet charge an enemy to leap places.

    you can carbon freeze all the enemies around you to get a good pass off.

     

    i have scored numerous times as a powertech. we may not be fast but between our armor, kolto inject, shield, and defense relics we arent going down unless the entire team zergs us.

     

    of course this is assuming shield tech if your pyro then maybe not.

    This is not a whine thread, im just trying to figure out why we run so much in this game. The Ship > airlocks bla bla has been discussed quite a few times. But im thinking about when it comes to questing. Atm im on Hoth.

     

    Last night i spent 20 min in total just doing 1 quest. Mount up and drive X minutes, blast my way through a ton of mobs that i didnt need. Go into a new cave, kill even more mobs, then click on the quest item.

     

     

    Then reverese the whole thing since my quick travel was on cooldown. Why do we at times spend most of the time getting to the quest, sometimes halfway across the map, far far into a cave to get an item?

     

    Is the game designed this way with RP in mind? Like you go out on a grand adventure, into the wilds.

     

     

    B) Or a massive massive timkesink? Im all for timesinks, ive played mmos for 10 years now, but this to me seems a bit too much.

     

     

    if it really took you 20 minutes plus mob killing how was your quick travel still on cooldown?

     

    also are you sure you didnt miss any fast travelpoints?

  5. the world pvp in this game is exactly the same as swg. so they thought thats what everyone wanted since everyone cried when swg shut down. they picked the most logical way to do it. they are not mind readers even though you expect them to be

    oh i remember know youre talking about that one planet put the battleground on later.

     

     

    my first thought was wth are you talking about.

    SWg had faction points you could use to buy and place youre own base to defend, you could create cities with bases and create hotspots that way, they also had planetary control mechanics for each planet which tracked the status of the war and let you know who was winning.

     

    The was also a time where SWG had pvp rankings for jedi which was cool (but exploited)

    oh and player bounties which i loved.

  6. wow you guys really hate item decay.

     

    i dont understand all the hate. I dont think item decay should apply to loot drops or bag gear.

    but i dont have a problem with it applying to crafted oranges or purples. ( as long mods dont decay)

    I will say that item decay has to be part of a system.

     

    I.E. if item decay is in, then crafters should not be able to gather everything they need. If were gonna have to replace gear from crafters then they need to buy resources from combatants and be dedicated crafters.

     

    This is not the design of this game.

  7. I got hit today by a Guardian for 5,500 damage (I had 515 Expertise BM/Champ gear and the guy was only Champ rank).

     

    I thought it was a fluke but he did it again in more than one match. He's even hitting others for well over 6k.

     

    Another tank class that has some high burst is Powertech/Vaguard.

     

    Kinda silly to give tanks high burst, sustained damage, survivability, CC and utility .. and then go nerf the burst of a burst glass-cannon class that has nothing else lol

     

    now lets just slow this train down a bit please.

     

    tank spec's bh/knight/warrior/trooper whatever are not pulling these crits.

    tank spec dmg is ultra low just like it should be.

     

    a shieldtech bh, does NOT have burst in any fashion. biggest crit i have ever gotten is around 2200.

     

    lets not throw our tanks under the bus here.

  8. i would like the system to stay the way it is except.

     

    for huttball i would like to see no movement enhancing effects while you are carrying the ball.

    no intercedes/jetcharge/sprint etc. if you have the ball you can walk or pass it.

     

     

    in fact I thought the devs said in beta that they were considering this.

     

    outside of huttball i am fine with the current system.

     

    if you are getting focused you are screwed regardless

  9. why the **** are they nerfing scoundrel when i cant do **** to tanks and scorces i go behind a sorce blow him down he just gets back up and puts on anouther shirld hardly any damage to him this is gonna make us useless we dont have a sprit or push or anything this is ******** (BS) scoundrels arnt the problem t here just annoying when effective

    and thats why people are raging

     

    thats because sorcs have more dmg blocking abilities than even tanks. its retarded i know

  10. I was quite happy to see the imperial pilot's outfit finally added to the game again (it was in beta, and was removed for launch).

     

    Then i saw that it requires social rank 3.

     

    Please, someone at bioware tell me WHY you require social rank/points for items that are obtained through content that does not provide social points at all? Beyond how retardedly stupid that is, everyone knows the social rank grind is agonizingly slow and tedious right now, most level 50 players - even the ones who grouped for every flashpoint while levelling - are still nowhere even close to social rank 3. My level 50 powertech isnt even halfway through social rank 1 yet, and I've been doing flashpoints nonstop since hitting 50.

     

     

    yes if i cant get something in two weeks it broken.

     

    oh yes and add more stuff to do im out.

     

     

    seriously i think the game gives stuff way too easy as it is.

     

    there has to be something in the game that takes some time.

    im keeping my tank spec because i PVE tank too, im just gonna start making a DPS set.

     

    good news is a DPS set should be really effective because your build really doesnt do much for damage.

     

    stats are king in this game.

     

    so im just gonna start whoring DPS gear.

     

    the reason this is so mind blowing is the Vanguard annd powertech primary defense stat is shields. all our talents revolve around them, our miniscule DOTs and debuffs depend on them.

    but they only are effected by less than 25% of the attacks in the game, and our PVP gear stacks shield bonuses.

  12. They are effective, Expertise does reduce these stats but they are still effective in many situations, I am full Immortal spec and do plenty of DPS

     

    Usually ending a WZ in excess of 10 Medals including 75k / 300k damage, 5k single hits and massive protection counts, I have no issues fulfilling my pvp roles.

     

    well good for you i cant hit for over 1.5k let alone the 5k you claim.

    i rarely get the 75k dmg medal i couldnt even dream of the 300k one.

    protection is not a problem.

     

    again stop assuming that since you are fine that all tanks are fine.
