  1. Is there any reason to keep Synthweaving for end game content? The gear may have been nice while leveling but I don't see any advantage to leveling from 400 to 450 and am thinking of dropping for Biochem (even though another toon also has Biochem currently at 400). I just don't see the value in this profession any longer. Thoughts?
  2. I don't see anything regarding Alacrity on the in-game character screen and I'm trying to figure out how Alacrity benefits Sents now that 2.0 is live on servers. How does it compare to other secondary stats, e.g., Crit, Surge, etc? What abilities are impacted? Does it increase our focus gain? Decrease GCD?

Thanks in advance for helpful responses.

  3. So every massive company releasing an MMO can not give **** for endgame at their launch because WoW in 2004-5ish didn't have any? If anything, it should be a progressive stepping stone, this is 2012 ffs.... Now, on with the thread!

Also, damn you people and your grammar. I'm sick of seeing this everywhere... Free Learning Lesson with Matacka right now!

There- In, at or to that place EX: Could you put the books there, please?

They're- Short form of they are EX: They're reading a book.

Their- Determiner, belonging to them EX: What colour is their car?

They're parked in their car over there? NO WAI!!!

  4. these threads always confuse me. what exactly should they do about it? force certain ppl to re-roll republic?

They can't force anyone to do anything but they can surely incent people to roll pub. For example they could increase leveling experience for pubs (or the lower faction population) that scales with population imbalance on each server or they can apply buffs to the lower pop faction in Ilum.

I just gave you two ideas off the top of my head and I'm not even paid to think about this game from a design point of view. BW has an obligation to subscribers to do a better job.

  5. You think a lot of people play this game by seeing how many people are on each side? Keep in mind this is a PvE game first. The gameplay issue you're describing is only affected by those who primarily PvP. Do we know exactly how many PvP vs PvE'ers are in this game? No. So to believe that it should all revolve around PvP play is a little off-base.

A lot of Star Wars fans come here for the PvE content, the lore, the storyline, etc. The Star Wars franchise has always had an abundance of Imperial fans. Fans of Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Boba Fett, Sith, etc. How many fans do you see for Luke, or Rebel Pilots, in comparison?

People play this game because of what the characters/factions represent, and it already has an established fanbase way before BW even touched this MMO.

Sorry but faction imbalance impacts PvE as much as it impacts PvP. Republic numbers are so low on Fleet and most planets that people can't find groups for heroics or instances. Low numbers leads to low low volume and high prices on the AH. On PvP servers ganking while questing is common, especially multiple imps on pubs. How do you honestly say that faction imbalance doesn't impact PvE? Sounds like just another Imp defending the status quo to me.

  6. The problem with your progression chart is that not all of those instances came into the game at the same time, so comparing all of BC to the first month or so of a new MMO isn't quite fair. Just consider the fact that in the future there will be further operations that you can compare on a similar level to WoW. Don't try and compare it a month after the game came out. Consider the fact that it was basically trying to find 40 people for Molten Core right after the game came out and even if you are talking about BC, the raiding still came out gradually.

I think you missed the entire point as to why he listed the BC raid progression. He stated that single mode raids are preferable to multi-mode raids and used BC as an example. I understand why developers use the mechanic with it being so much less expensive to simply modify and reuse an existing raid over creating a new one from scratch but emphatically agree with the poster you quoted that raiding in BC was the best I've seen in any MMO.

You're response is, "Wait and give them time to develop more raids" while missing his point that EV should be the entry raid with more on the horizon without HM and NMM.

  7. the reason we get huttball all the damn time is becuase we pvp more. either get more republics to queue up or stop whining that you faction is garbage at pvp.

I'm typing this slowly so you can understand. Imps far outnumber Reps on almost all servers. Of course you have more people queuing.

  8. Are you kidding ? You wanna chill after this mess ? Bioware must be glad to have people like as players, always "chilling" in the worst situations xD

It's easy to chill when you're Imp and benefit from these types of issues. Why worry? Be happy.

  9. You people realize that the max like anyone has gotten from Ilum today is like 50k right?

    Stop believing the troll rumors.

Don't believe the troll rumors. Believe this rumor.

E: And yes, they need to roll back valor for today.

  10. I played Illum for 6 hours today. I know what is happening. I also know they are going to fix it within a few hours.

Illum is not the entire game for most people. Plenty of people have absolutely zero interest in PvP and couldnt care less if everyone who entered Illum had their characters erased. You are not the judge of whether or not a developer is good at what they do, especially since you seem incapable of appreciating the entire game and focus solely on the tiny fraction of it that is PvP.

Imp or Rep? How many valor levels did you gain today?

  11. People have the instant gratification mentality, thats why there are so many QQ'ers who cancel thinking people care that they do. They think, as soon as they see a bug it should be fixed immediately, or they will cancel their sub..

Software takes time to do, I'd rather wait and have it done right than not.

It's funny how all the Imps think that this is just a little bug and minor bump in the road when this game is basically designed to cater to you. Try looking at it from the Rep side. There has been a clear and deliberate message from the dev team and it's "even though you all pay the same sub fee you aren't all equal." This is why so many people are PO'd today. It just feeds the same mentality. For a game that is only one month into lauch there shouldn't be issues like this. Ever. That's what testing is about. And guess what? Beta testing is proving out. Populations are unbalanced. Mirror classes favor Imps. And now Imps can get Battlemaster in a day. When you are on the receiving end of this bias it probably seems like everything is OK but when you are on the side that get's screwed it's not such a great view.

  12. lets not forget the big issue. all this patch did was make it unenjoyable to play on only a single planet, that consists of only a single activity of all the things to do in the game.

i've seen wow patches that made it unenjoyable (impossible) to play nearly any aspect of the game for a bit of time, and broke several other aspects for quite a long time after.

patch 3.0 comes to mind as a particularly bad one. severs were so unstable that blizz credited everyone with ~3 days game time, not because they wanted to be nice, but because you literally couldn't play for those 3 days, and thus players were owed them. not to mention that was the patch that turned ret pallies into unstoppable murder machines, where they stayed for quite a few weeks.

No it didn't. This patch highlights the faction imbalances and gives Imps a huge benefit over Reps that they neither need nor deserved. The effects of this **** up will be felt for months if not longer. Frankly I don't have any faith in the pvp dev team. They are idiots and that is the biggest failing to come to light with this patch.

  13. Oh grow up the devs have put to bed the whole valor super gain bs that was spread

No they haven't. They're just trying to cover their asses and hope this blows over. Since the Imp population is so much greater than Rep I guess this is their attempt at customer satisfaction especially with the number of Imp's posting trying to rationalize their BS valor gains and mock Battlemaster titles.

  14. Shi**y job all the way around, BW. You have unbalanced this game even more than before. Your BS response concerning how this wasn't supposed to happen in the first place (spawn camping) is shallow. You never had the intention to prevent it until the user community blew up in your collective face.

You disgust me. Roll back the valor gains for today.

  15. I'm sure BW hasn't responded yet because they're waiting for actual feedback from the adults who pay to play the game with their own money and have something constructive to say.

Translation: I play Imp and the current system is fine as I expoit to Battlemaster. Working as designed.

  16. Developers have intentionally instituted a system to ensure that the largest faction, Imps, have a huge pvp advantage over the smaller faction, Reps.

What could you possibly be thinking? How can a company and dev team as large as yours condone such blatant favoritism at best and incompetence at worst?

All valor gains, commendations, and rewards as of patch 1.1 need to be rolled back and an apology for outright idiocy needs to be made. None of these things will happen until every 50 Imp that wants to be a Battlemaster has the title, rewards, and gear, and then they'll fix it and ensure dominance for their favored faction.

  17. lol I wasn't suggesting other ideas. I was just pointing out that at this current moment we should accept this new system because the old one was a shower of ****. Also sitting on the republic base isn't skillful but neither is trading quests. So please understand why I said what I said.

We understand what you're saying. You're saying, "Hey guys, look at me! I'm so skilled as I easy mode my way to Battlemaster and it's the best available option." Go **** yourself.
