  1. You have a base accuracy of 100% on all abilities, except for your level 1 auto-attack (rapid shots, rifle shot, etc).

If your accuracy is > 100%, you will begin negating your opponents Defense Chance (avoidance). This only applies to white damage. So for example, you have 92% accuracy (102% accuracy for abilities), and you opponents has 5% defense chance. You will negate 2% of that defense chance, lowering their chance to avoid your damage to 3%.

The average player in PvP has 5% Defense Chance. So, you need 5% more Accuracy to negate that. Now, tanks can get there Defense Chance quite high. Accuracy can be used to attack tanks through their Defense Chance, but often times you have to sacrifice a lot of offense to stack accuracy high enough to make a difference against tanks.

Bottomline, I think accuracy is one of the least effective stats in PvP from an offensive standpoint. Stacking accuracy only benefits against tanks, and if you do that you lose too much in other places. Accuracy to 95% (105% for abilities) is all you need to be effective

Awesome, I appreciate the informative response.

  2. I've been talking to a few people and some claim you should stack some accuracy while others say only do it for PvE. So what's the verdict on this? I know the base accuracy is 90% but a lot of the SW gear stacks accuracy.

Additionally when I hover over the accuracy stat there is basic accuracy and special attacks. Is your basic accuracy just your resource building moves while special attacks is basically everything else?

  3. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I just got boned. However I was full BM pre 1.2, and had a ton of extra BM comms, so I bought several pieces of BM gear that had mods in it that I was stacking and ripped them out and updated my BM suit. However once 1.2 hit the mods don't have an expertise value even though they came from other BM pieces, so I'm down about 150 expertise. Any ideas here? I figured if you ripped the mods out of any PvP gear it would retain the expertise rating when they updated it post 1.2
  4. Awhile ago they said it was coming, but I don't think its in 1.2. I feel your pain, though... my jugg would love to PvP in a Sand People outfit.

HUGE disappointment. Our whole rated pvp group was going to run around in the Imperial Pilot Jump suit. It's a huge investment (1300 fleet comms), so kinda worthless to blow it only on light armor.

  5. I've heard talk about this but haven't heard for 100%, but will the orange gear you can buy like the Tuskin Raider armor, or Pilot Jump suit have a medium and heavy armor option come 1.2? Several of us are planning on making an armor set but for those of us that can wear medium or heavy armor we don't want to be gimping our self, since right now it is just light armor.
  6. Despite the usual stereotypes, I laughed.

Now as a Sorcerer, FUUUUUUU!!!! If you let a Sorcerer just stand around spamming Lightning and racking up 300k damage, who's really the baddy? HUH???

I personally do not think sorc's are OP, but like you said there are stereotypes that are, on a general level shared by many people.

  7. This is sooo annoying and seems to happen when I jump to people near the fire pit. I get stuck at this room with a landscape of a city, I can move my camera but nothing else. It still counts me in the WZ but since I can't move it kicks me. Anyone else have this problem?

  8. Forgive the very noob question here...

I don't have a lot of experience with mmo's in general, so something has been confusing me. At level 31 my Carnage Marauder is doing Primary Damage of about 225-280, and Secondary at about 58-88. Mostly wearing blues and oranges. Not the greatest gear, but not too bad.

I noticed that my Merc who's only level 25, on the other hand, is doing 1555-2095 Primary Damage and 190-350 Secondary.

With such a HUGE differnece in numbers, my first worry is that I gimped my Marauder somehow. But after asking around a little, I think other people's numbers aren't that different on their Marauders.

So would I be correct in guessing that the Marauder piles on this 'smaller' amount of damage much faster, and the BH just lays down a big chunk at once? Or have I in fact screwed up somewhere with my Marauder?

Hahaha funny you mentioned this. I've been level 50 for a few weeks now and never looked into it. But when I was in a warfront last night I noticed that huge stat gap. My main at level 50 (off the top of my head) is near ~800 but BH's and IA's are 4-5k+. With that being said, I don't know if those numbers are correct or if they are just factored in differently because in pvp I can more than hold my own against 2 people by myself.

  9. Are you level 50?

Have you done a lot of PvP? Are you above valor rank 30?

Have you tried any heroic flashpoints, or operations?

    Please explain.

Level 50 within a week of playing and passed level 30 valor soon after that. I've done a handful of flashpoints/operations. I do not have any major complaints. Just say'n.

I enjoy pvp, it isn't great, but not something I'm going to b*tch about. If I had to b*tch about something, it would be the extremely poor space combat. However, maybe I'm spoiled from all the space combat in SWG..
