  1. I can tell you there is music in the game. When it's around, it's cool. But it comes on sporadically, sometimes pointlessly, and lacks fluidity, transition or purpose in most cases. I mean they already have a great template, so there is no way they can screw the music up itself. But there needed to be more communication between the devs and the composers as far as where the music should go, and what kind of music should be playing. They should have added background music. I'm the kind of person who loves music deeply and it effects me very strongly in life and all the games/movies etc. I own a lot of soundtracks, and the first thing I typically notice after graphical annoyances is the quality of the music and its execution. So for the music to be missing entirely in most of my gameplay, it's very distracting and disappointing. Music when it's on? 8/10 Musical execution 3/10
  2. Yeah...I've been hacked a couple three times over the many years. It was very upsetting. I never had an issue once I got the security key. I know that it still doesn't prevent all hacking, but at least it's harder to get into my account. Most of the time they just sell all your stuff. One time I was transferred to another server somehow. The last time they used my character for farming and I got the account back under my control so fast that I actually made currency from the whole thing lol. It's still distressing to see all your hard work gone in a few minutes. So that's why I bought the security key just as soon as it was available.
  3. It will get better...I tanked fairly well, but did have some threat issues like you described. Now I'm not having many threat issues. You get an AOE taunt, an AOE damage in addition to discharge and force pull that pulls the mob to you and does high threat.
  4. I assume the reason why the responsiveness is slower than in WoW and other MMO's is because they wanted the game to feel more realistic with the blocking and have weapon collision instead of just your weapon flying through your opponent etc. I'm ok with the little less responsive gameplay in exchange for a more realistic feel to the combat. However, I can see how this would annoy competitive people in PvP. Personally, I like how it is now However, I'm sure there are some crucial skills that could use adjustment to make it bearable for all.
  5. Beyond all the complaints I have already posted about the searching for items...what about the redundancy when you sell something? I received a mail...letting me know I was going to get a mail with my credits... I think they really need to work on the user interface letting you know when events happen instead of relying on the mail system. Now I have to go to my mailbox just to see I will be getting an important mail message with my credits? Waste of time.
  6. I don't know enough about the end game yet to see if this would really be an overall benefit over the other talents. Probably overall you don't take a lot of dot damage. So far around lvl 30 I have not come across much dot damage that wasn't avoidable (like standing in fire).
  7. Looked a little closer at it. Damage Reduction % is based on armor alone it looks like and protects against all types of damage (magic/melee). As far as I can tell the Damage Reduction % decreases damage taken on a normal hit. Defense Chance being avoidance of ranged and melee attacks, with a smaller % of magic attack resistance. Shield chance is ranged or melee, not magic (like you said), and the Shield Absorption % is how much damage is reduced when shield procs. So...defense is the only thing that can defend us from magic beyond force shroud and armor rating? Am I misunderstanding something?
  8. But defense doesn't defend against magic attacks right? whereas shielding will I thought.
  9. Until you have an ungodly amount of absorption I'd say use the shield stat over defense. Our class has the best shielding chance and it will help our more avoidance tanking style easier for healers to heal as the damage incoming will be reduced overall and less spiky.
  10. I have posted some numbers on the tankasin website for everyone to think on called: Willpower/Power/Armor Stat Breakdown & Diminishing Returns http://maintankasin.net/node/100 It shows some of the initial stat increases per point using our common stats including willpower and power.
  11. I tried (and failed) to find a guild to join using these forums. If anything, why not expand on the guild finder features you guys ALREADY HAD instead of removing the whole functionality making it worthless then having your customers wallow through garbage to find maybe 1 post regarding their server. The guild finder was a good feature :-/ If you don't want server forums due to your company's pros and cons list, it only shows you don't care what the customer's pros and cons list is. You're showing us that you lack the resources to make the customer happy and you give empty promises instead of solid answers. The biggest reasons we need server forums are: master crafter lists (didn't you say you wanted crafters to feel like they'd accomplished something? Harder to get your name out there if you are spamming general with your crafting stats.), wtb/wts/wtt requests, guild progression threads, community events or grouping or any other multitude of threads that would be constructive and critical to the community. But no, you want us to "Search" the forums for the key word of our server name and whatever else might be there? This is a terrible and clunky idea and does not give the customers the functionality they pay for. I'm loving the game as far as story and play goes, but everything else is really not what I hoped for. You have to show me why I should pay you money to be frustrated about simple things like server forums when I could be having fun doing something other than MMO's.
  12. FFXI had something called a world pass where you had to have a contact on the server you were choosing who could give you a code to choose that server if you wanted to be on their server. This would have been a good idea for this game's launch as well as implementing free server transfers...
  13. I agree with everyone here saying they need to have a grace period. The queues in general are too long... It doesn't matter what kind of shiny features you've put into your game WHEN YOUR SUBSCRIBERS CAN'T PLAY IT!!! People are going to cancel their orders.
  14. I'm here to complain also about these server queues. You can't tell me you didn't add up how many people you invited to the game for early access, divided that out between each server, and then didn't know the average play time of players? Because right now every single server is Heavy or Full on my list. I'm sitting here in a queue (which is never EVER fun) and I'm just praying something will be done about this quickly. The something that can be done is open up the servers a bit more (they are stable...push them harder), open new servers, allow free transfers to those new servers. Your talk of a "magical balance" is flawed because obviously it's NOT balanced by a long shot. I hate to pay to wait...and it will make me reconsider playing the game if I have to wait for more than 10 minutes every peak time. Right now I'm waiting a half hour. Gives me time to pick my nose, pick my butt, pick my weeds, and pick something else to do for entertainment. You guys were so worried about having a stable launch - well now it's too stable. You're halting everyone's progress and just frustrating people by the way you implemented the early access. ~A pissed customer
