  1. I've been trying to play a bit more on BC recently as the people here are wonderful, but I've noticed the PvP queue is quite slow. I thought it might be nice if we could compile a list of streams or youtube channels of players who play on BC. I'm certainly not the best PvP player and I exclusively run solo, but here's a link to some videos I recorded recently to try and get it started. Don't expect fancy music or pretty graphics from my video, you're lucky I'm able to even manage to figure out how to record them. Shadowsong's youtube Channel
  2. Just wanted to drop a note to say how much more enjoyable PvP is on BC than that other server I sometimes hide on when I'm feeling skittish and asocial. The people are wonderful here and the matches are more consistently challenging than on Harb, probably due to the higher ratio of new players to veterans on Harb. Now if only someone would install a Starbucks in my Library so I don't run out of coffee at nights. Thanks for some very fun matches and some great photo finish comebacks. Win or lose it's great fun on BC
  3. I've never understood the e-peen or trash talking aspect some players bring to PvP and that part of your Zu persona has always annoyed me. It's destructive to the PvP community in a small environment like ours, but there's no denying that you're fun to play with or against. Especially when you don't feel the need to project the Zu persona. I've had some memorable matches with and against you on various alts and you've always put thought into rotations and class strengths and weaknesses making you very fun and challenging to play against. I really hope that you don't get burned out without the e-peen competition to sustain you, but I for one am looking forward to the new and reformed Zu, assuming this isn't one of your normal trolls.
  4. Sadly I'm not into the social scene, but you should ask for experience on the RP forums at least at http://begerencolony.org. The official forum isn't used much by the RP crowd.
  5. <waves her hand> These are not the Cookies you're looking for. On a related note, hopefully everyone is remembering to clean up after their mounts on fleet. I'm looking at those of you riding the rancors.
  6. You should make sure to visit the more active RP forums at http://begerencolony.org As far as your question there's a similar subplot with the scoundrel story, but the voice acting for the PC doesn't lend itself to nobility. Race wise you could rule out Twi'lek, Ratataki, Chiss, Probably the Mirialan too as they don't have queens to my admitedly weak lore knowledge. I suppose she could go for a Killik.
  7. Planning to challenge Darth Baras record?
  8. Congrats on the resurrection of the Funk. I might even have to forgive that little 1.6 million damage your team dished out the last time I ran into you in middies. Well once Whisper gets out of the Kolto tank that is. Looking forward to seeing more Cowboys We need more friendly, skilled, PvP'rs with a sense of humor.
  9. This has been tried before, this had been done before. Inevitably it self destructs in a nova of epeen and ego. If I were going to make an attempt like this I would put together a list and approach those players you'd like to recruit one on one. Otherwise you're likely just to get mid tier players rather than one of the few dozen really good players. They'll probably say no, but it has worked in the past. I wish you luck in your hunt all the same. Guild teams make for some of the most frantic and invigorating fights. Nothing forces you to wake up fully and use your abilities to the fullest like a well coordinated guild team. It's also fun to watch the drama of their eventual implosion with a bowl of popcorn or BBQ ribs
  10. I thought I saw a familiar pair of Lekku on fleet last time I was lurking in the shadows there between matches, welcome back. I wanted to wish you good luck with your rebuilding efforts, the Funks were always some of my favorite people to fight. Good skill and even better attitudes.
  11. I did finally get one from each faction to 60's (Kayla and Wisp) and I'm forcing myself to do the 4-5 matches each time I play to get the daily done. So far I've been disappointed with the quality of play. It's not really much better than the previous brackets. The numbers are bigger, but that's about it. Guild teams are fun to fight, and I encounter them perhaps a bit more frequently in 60 than mids. Trash talking is almost unbearable in the 60 bracket, I really don't understand that. With my horrible alt-itus it takes me longer than many to get geared up and I may be getting burned out by the process since this is about the 4th time I've gone through it. The last 3 times I've been one to two pieces away from a complete max set, the level has gone up and I've had to start all over. That means I can't really play more than 2-3 characters in that bracket with a reasonable expectation of getting geared before they raise the cap again. Even then it will take me months. I have a very hard time focusing on the 60 bracket long term primarily because it's so bloody expensive and difficult to change outfits (primarily due to having to re-augment)... stupid I know, but I really wish they'd remove augments from the pvp stat calculations. That would narrow the stat differential between top tier gear and entry as well as facilitate swapping out outfits a lot easier. It also makes it easier to swap to a different class when the mood strikes you. Removing augments from the PvP calculation would be such a quality of life improvement, but I'm sure the crafters would scream bloody murder.
  12. I generally avoid these drama threads and I'm sure someone will manage to twist my few thoughts, but here's my two cents. I have noticed recently a very large number of very very new PvP players in every tier. It's honestly not fun to fight them even running solo as I usually do. Sure there's a moment of ego and adrenaline when you solo 3 defenders, but that fades quickly and then you feel bad for picking on those just learning to play. Sure it's fun to get 90+ kills in lowbie, or go a dozen matches before you die, but that rush quickly becomes hollow if the reason you're getting those kills is because your opponents are still struggling with the basic game mechanics. We aren't helping nurture a new crop of PvP'rs with our verbal trash talking and the running of guild teams in lowbies and mids. I'm quite skittish and asocial, but I will often swap factions if we win too strongly in my small attempt to keep things more balanced. Even so, perhaps one match in three is close enough to make me turn off my audio book and make me pay attention, which is a shame. There's nothing more fun for me than to go up against challenging players that know all the cc's and defensive moves, not just the dps rotations. Sadly most of those who are left in that category have grown to be toxic in our small little pool. I don't know if conquest is to blame for all the new pvp'rs, or if it's just the batch of new players that started at Christmas, but I'm at a loss as to how to get them up to speed before they get frustrated and stop queuing. Perhaps my memories of matches gone by is just my rose tinted glasses, but I'm definitely feeling like the old cat lady in the warzones right now. It's bad enough I'm considering going through the story again for one of the classes just for a change of pace and cut my warzone time back.
  13. <-- my view I thought it might be fun to share most of a match from two perspectives as Pinkerton was recording on this match as well. I wasn't playing that smart this match. I thought we had control of mid, which permitted me to be impish with the re-spawn. April was really sneaky and fast at moving the ball however. She totally won it for her team. I may have to move my keybinds around again as I noticed a couple of places I should have used my AoE taunt that I missed. My hands are too small to really reach those last two keys on either side of the G13 without stretching. Will be offline this week to go skiing.
  14. My internet is too lousy to upload much so don't expect regular uploads like some, but here's a couple of matches from yesterday. Mostly short ones since the upload time was so insane. I wanted to make sure I included some though that had some good players in them. Lucius in the match I lost in the second video stands out in particular as someone you can learn tricks from. That multi player ambush caught me by surprise and set the tone for the match. There's a great fight at the end of the match when I was just goofing around. Really made me tempted to start another Juggernaut, even though I'm lousy at them. <- Arena and Alderan <- Alderan <- Hypergates and Arena I find video a great tool to look at where you are making mistakes and tricks other players are using to get an advantage. A bit depressing to watch my own bad habits, but if you aren't aware of them you won't improve.
  15. If you're having server issues and it's not impacting a sizable number of other players, it's probably an issue along the route to the server and not a server issue. You can run a pathping (or similar utility) on the server ip addresses. Once you've identified where the problem is forward it to your isp and try to get them to help or use a proxy service to get around it if your isp is being unresponsive. You can also forward it to support, if it's impacting a number of players they may contact the isp with the issue directly about the packet loss.
